Nabi 60 by vk.works

➊ intro

This project is a butterfly themed rendition of some of my favorite boards (namely the Singa Unikorn and the Bakeneko) and it's my second favorite layout (TKL gang obviously). The theme comes from my love of purple, and my girlfriend who inspired the butterfly. It has a minimal approach to design, with simple angles and a refined weight engraving. The board is O-Ring gasket mount and has a flexible and bouncy typing experience.

Looks hot! Would've asked if any wkl available, but since you said no changes to layout, I'll keep the question to myself.

If it's basically a Unikorn clone with probably worse QC, why is it actually more expensive than the Unikorn?

This tbh, I would much rather try for a Unikorn and expect good qc and a good keyboard rather than some random runner charging MORE with us having no idea if we will get good quality and a nice sounding and feeling keyboard.

Price has been updated and the price is looking a lot better now but I think this keyboard is still out of the question with the promises of Unikorn selling every quarter. As said, price is much better than the non-updated price.

Does this use Unikorn mounting points or the older Bakeneko mounting points?

Those feet look hideous.

Weight screws could be internal.

Overall project though seems good though, just not enough to persuade most of us from the IN-STOCK Unikorn even if it may be 400-450$.

Would've asked if any wkl available, but since you said no changes to layout, I'll keep the question to myself.

FYI — since the design is a friction-fit o-ring mount like Unikorn, you'd have a hell of a time assembling it if it were WKL or HHKB

You would just need a custom pcb with open areas for the WK blockers. there are 65s that do this.

pretty sure weight screws need to be external in case you need to pop off the weight and push the pcb/assembly out. agree that the feet and weight look kinda weird, would prefer either round bumpons or two long feet like geon does.

I think the route most friction fit boards are taking now is having a cutout on the plate around the spacebar to pull the build out, rather than pushing out from the bottom.

I definitely know I won't be taking the time to unscrew things... I just end up pulling on the keycaps or something to get the build out instead.

Anyhow, with the Unikorn becoming more readily available soon, I think this one will be in a tricky spot considering it looks quite similar, glwic

- does it support h60?
- can we have more plate options like FR4 and Polycarb?
