I motion that we remove ANSI from the base in this set. It's only regionally relevant and we don't need to cater for that niche in the base. We could save a quid or two doing so so that's well worth it. Please move ANSI to the international kit.

In kitting, alphas are shown as green, but render show them as white. Can you clarify on this?To clarify, alphas are WS2 with RAL 6005 legends. Mods are RAL 6005 with RAL 1001 legends. Hope this clears it up!

This is awesome, love british racing green! What are the accent colors/legends? They probably work best, but I'm curious why you didn't go with the traditional yellow accent. So for accents I went for aesthetics > theming. The accent is RAL 1001. For me it does evoke feelings of cream leather seats, and I feel it does fit in pretty nicely in a way where yellow may be overpowering.
Oooh, definitely excited for this. BRG is my favorite car paint color aside from a few Porsche PTS colorsImagine spelling it like that on this post, smh

very cool set. I gotta ask, though, are there plans to send the haus65 into IC/GB? =)
I'm not British, nor do I know anything about racing, but I appreciate a clean green set. Being Aussie, I'll just interpret it as my national colours.
P.S. small typo: "as well as complete UK ISO and numbed support." -> I guess if you have to input data and numbers all day and need that numpad you're going to be a bit numb.

Are the legends on the alphas in black or the green?
Looks good Lewis.
Thoughts:
I do think that WS2 might be a bit too bright in contrast with the mods (I think WS1 or 3K might fit a bit better) and might make the green legending look darker than they might be. British racing green is quite a drab colour and with contrast with the alphas I think will make it feel like they don't fit together. I could be very wrong though.
Automotive based novelties might go down well as a lot of people are at least interested in cars and a few iconic cars have used this colour. (carrying on from what depletedvespene said, perhaps a Pole winkey? as in Pole Position?)
Oh, and Icon+Text pretty please.
:D
A gold JPS Rama cap would be awesome with this set. I love the colour scheme.

The Rama caps from GMK Grand Prix could work as well ;)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/Diyytho.jpg)
Needs to be more bold/simple.
Any update?Yes! I am still working on novelties, and in the background I am looking to fill out the vendor list. Once we have the right US vendor it’s my intention to run this set as soon as schedules line up properly.
After much feedback both here, in messages and on our Discord (https://discord.gg/NjzC8pe) the decision has been made to switch the brighter WS2 for the slightly warmer WS1. It was a close call, with a tonne of people fighting for WS2 but against the green, WS1 is just that bit more subtle. I hope people appreciate this change, and more feedback is always welcome.Booo
Has a date been set?

Love the deep green - I plan on snagging the exotic kit as well for my ortho! Any chance of green alphas?

I’ve been considering it! But the reason I held off in the IC was to reduce overlap with GMK Nuclear Data. I wouldn’t expect a dark alphas set, but never say never!
Yeah I've said it before, but I'll say it again... having a single color that is somewhat similar to another set's color does not a copycat make.
This set with green alphas and beige legends would be so far off from Nuclear Data in any configuration that it shouldn't be a problem. ESPECIALLY if you avoid using "Dixie" mods like Nuclear Data does.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/PoGtfCI.jpg)Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/QZwjpv7.png)
Now there are other reasons why you might choose not to run an alt alphas kit, for example if you were shooting for a very high MOQ, but mimicry shouldn't be an issue.
Those of you wanting a green kit, check out the initial post for a render of my idea of a "Racing Green Kit", a dark alphas kit with coverage for F keys, numpad and more. It's quite expansive and could be pared down a little, so if you'd rather a slimmed down Racing Green Kit, let me know. I feel at this time, a second full green kit is off the table, but it's something I am willing to discuss with vendors.
There are also new renders for the base and exotic kit, which have been tuned a little. Now it's on a more neutral background.
No 7U spacebars?
No 7U spacebars?
Forgot to toggle the tsangan keys. Fixed now! If I had it my way, the kit would be only 7U. ;)
A few general suggestions for the kit:
-minivan backspace (1.75u R2) in exotic kit
-mod 1.5u pipe and mod tilde in base kit
-separate spacebar kit with accent and/or green minibars so Alice users who want green alphas don't have to use white bars
-extra B in base kit and extra B in green alphas kit
looking forward to this hitting GB!
I don't think second B is a good fit for base kit, given you'd need bars in addition.I don't disagree with you on this except in the case that you have a separate spacebars kit. QC-ing spacebars separately from concave alpha keys is a lot easier and might translate to a slightly cheaper spacebars kit vs including the extra B in the spacebars kit.

However if you have spacebars and 40's all in one kit it won't make a difference.
Having minibars but not an extra B is useless. If anything, you could include both alice spacebars and extra B in base. But then you also run into the issue of what to do for the green kit.

I agree with you here. I want to make sure Alice users only need to buy one extra kit to get full compatibility. One of my goals with this set was an expansive base kit that makes UK ISO a first class citizen rather than the more minimal kitting you see (which also has it's perks). However, even trying to be inclusive with the base kit, I feel Alice support would be better off in it's own kit along with other special layouts. Thank you for the great feedback!
I'd also like to see ISO in the green kit!
Base kit is lacking the '@ key for ISO (got all the other keys but that one)
Kind of wish there were gold accents in the 40s kit, but otherwise the kitting looks sweet!
Could the exotics kit include green space bars as well?
Will you be adding prototypist as the UK vendor? You can't have British racing green set with no UK vendor. My UK-based product design studio Hand Engineering will proxy for the UK if there is sufficient interest and will be outright vending all future projects (have many exciting things cooking in the background).
I would like to urge you to consider the R2 1.75 backspace for the exotic kit. Thanks for the great feedback! You aren’t the first to suggest this, and I really appreciate it. I want the exotic kit to make sense for 40% users. Before kitting is finalised, going to be making a few tweaks.
For staggered 40s the three essential keys for physical compatibility are R3 1.25 tab, R2 1.75 backspace and R3 1.5 enter. If I'm not mistaken you already have R3 1.25 tab and R3 1.5 enter but are missing the backspace.
I'm not aware of any keyboard that uses 1.5 enter that doesn't also use the the 1.75 backspace, so if you want to include one of them the other one should be included also.
I would also be interested in Uk Vendor for this set

Ciantha hit the nail on the head.
40's kit needs r2 1.75u backspace.
I've been peeping the thread waiting for that kit to get updated and didn't even realize that nobody had brought it to your attention lol.

Isn't this key in the Base kit next to the ISO keys?

This key is already in base kit! Look next to ISO enter, unless I'm mistaken
No novelties? A hubcap novelty, or a series of novelties with a green number in a white circle, like the "7" and "102" in the inspiration pic, would of been dope...My thoughts exactly. I dig the theme, but what’s the fun in getting a set with no novelties?!
I felt the same way at first, but the more I think about it and look at these renders, the more I think novelties would actually cheapen it. Part of what makes brg the color so special is its classic and timeless simplicity, so keeping this set simple feels appropriate to me.No novelties? I would agree that novelties would cheapen this set, in fact a lot of novelty sets are not needed in my opinion. That said, what I always look for is a well thought out and executed RAMA or THOCK for example. This set needs that.Novelties are optional and not mandatory. If you don't like them you don't get them. Whether or not they are included as a kit for groupbuy does not devalue or 'cheapen' a set. That's just a snobby perspective. Please tuck your pinky finger away lol.

If Lewisflude, the GB runner doesn't want to do novelties that's totally within their rights, as this set is obviously appealing to many people without actually needing them. I'm not a car racing fan so I wouldn't care for the theme related novelties personally, but that doesn't mean I can't see that those who actually do vibe with the theme, are wishful there's a bit more thematic pizazz.
I note that the designer also hasn't made a deskmat design, and given that I only care about the colourway and not the theme that much, I'm in fact going to get this keycap set and match it with this Wave deskmat (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=111411.0):Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/qCQpRkX.png)
(Yes I'm the groupbuy runner for the deskmat, so I'm being a total shill lol).
Hey there! Two major updates!
Firstly, originally we said this would run in May. It's now been delayed to June 1st 2021. It'll run for the whole month.
Secondly, I'm proud to reveal the novelties kit designed by the amazing Morgana!Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/oLy6UYW.png)
I'm really looking forward to kicking off this project and really appreciate all the support friends, family and strangers have given me in pulling this all together so far. I feel very lucky to have great vendors on board for this. Looking forward to revealing deskmat design, artisan and other collabs in the coming days and weeks.

The novelties are quite a different color to the set - which colors is the set actually going to be? D:
Niice, those novelties looking swag. Aston martin DB5?
The novelties are absolutely fantastic and might have convinced me to pick this kit up. Are there any RAMAs in the works?
renders show gold colored arrow keys but not actually offered in kits. maybe update your renders or update your kits.
will pricing info be shared prior to the GB post?
Maybe its just me but, I feel like the novelty enters should have the car facing the other way, into the alphas. I think it would be more representative of the enter key arrow if the car is pointed in the same direction.
That being said i still love the novelties and this set. The colors are fantastic.
