Also, I'm giving away a Granite Peaks Snapper to a random person who posts a comment here or on Reddit explaining what Christmas will be like in the year 3016.
Woohoo! It's here. Amazing work, and good luck, all!
Here's what I think Christmas will be like in one thousand years:
In 3016, Christmas won't be all that different. It will remain a time for families, friends, and for the world to come together and celebrate. There will be snow, and the December air will be even crisper than it is today. While religion itself will be a thing of the past, the sentimental value of Christmas will remain, and the lessons of love, the laughter, and the spirit of giving will remain.
My ancestors will open up the time capsule planted one thousand years prior, blow off the dust, and open it to reveal a wonderful mess of cables and plastic. Reaching inside, they will pull out each keyboard one by one, admiring the individuality of each one. These relics will be followed by letters and stories and pictures, technology galore, and even a beautiful old Les Paul guitar. But the youngest child will be drawn to a particular relic: a keyboard with a strange, grey creature in the top left corner.
