I just moved back in with family so I ordered a few things to set up a small workplace.

Black Parsons Desk
Paper Lamp
Poker MX Browns
Poker Mousepad [lol]
104 White Blank PBT imsto keyset
On-Stage LPT5000 Laptop Computer Stand

Hopefully WASD will get more blue o-rings in soon, despite my wallet hurting. XD

i did i review in the review section if you want to check it out. i really, really like it. i am looking for a poker as well... but want blue switches so it might not be an option. i would consider the pure. very high quality board

what other types of keycaps should i get with a 60% board and an aluminum case?  i would like to get some dolch and black with huge white lettering but that seems impossible.  i would also like to get some white poker pbt caps with the fn layer on them.

The universal TKL plate from WFD. Once this arrives I can start designing a case that's compatible with the filco and phantom (as well as any pcb/plate with the same mounts as the filco). I noticed that there isn't a single case available that offers 7bit, winkeyless as well as a standard layout so I'll try and make all three available.. maybe even a 7bit+winkeyless combo if anyone is interested..

I planed to use the black pads, and after opening the case I noticed instead of the grey pads they added another pair of black pads, yay! ^^
My first impression: 1. Wow, dat BASS! 2. Some EQ tweaking really improves the sound (drop at 100Hz, raise at 2k, slight rise at 9k) 3. Wow, dat BASS!!!

I have the equivalent Weller.  When shopping for it, I admired the digital version, but I ultimately went with the version with the analog dial.  I love it and I can't imagine what in the world makes the digital worth the money?.  Who needs to know their tip temperature down to +/- 1 degree?

I actually prefer analog stations, my reasoning... A simple knob (directly turning a analog poti in most cases I guess) is probably less likely to break than the digital counterpart (LCD + dome or membrane buttons + some controller, all on a small PCB connected to a digital poti or whatever). Also, I don't see much potential for improvement on my Hakko, the analog FX888 is already more than what most people will need for DIY soldering applications.

I've had horrible luck with those vacuum plunger things; I'd give soldering wick a try. Maybe I just had a crappy one, but for me, the spring action of the plunger always moved the whole thing away from the joint I was trying to desolder.

I had the same issue to begin with, GordonZed. After a while I figured that I was actually being too slow with the sucker. When I figured out that I need to be really quick the sucker worked amazingly well, and I am talking about a really cheap sucker xD.
I could never get a hang of using wick on switches. I'm sure I didn't drag the wick well enough or whatever. Plunger for the win.
