64 GB ram ..why

Company hardware policy is max ram for developers, so why not?

Sure! Granted, half that $6k is from the monitors alone, but it's still a beast:

Corsair 600T Limited Edition White Case
Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition 3.5Ghz CPU
ASRock X79 Extreme6 LGA 2011 Motherboard
Corsair HX850 850W PSU
Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR3 1600
Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB SSD
EVGA Superclocked GTX 660ti 3GB Video Card
3x Dell UltraSharp U3011 30" Monitors

I probably could've gone bigger on the video card, but as I'm a new hire and it's a development (not gaming) machine, I didn't wanna push my luck.
30 30" monitors? Jesus that's 90inchs of screen! I need your job!
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Oh, you better believe it.

:D I'm still a little in shock that I was offered the gig.

And it's 3 monitors, not 30 ;)

30 would have been better 9000" although would be abit hard to hide your porn by alt-tab'ing

65g springs are finally in the mail!  Well, hopefully.  I finally got an email back from Sherryton and got my payment in.  Once they arrive, it's spring swap time on clears, stickering, lubing, and soldering, and I'll have a nice white RK-9000 with Clears.

Whoa, that looks interesting!  I didn't know they came in white - is that rare?  I've got a silver one on my desk and am planning on getting another for my software testing PC.

My "in the mail" item is a CST L-Trac to be used for my primary machine, in due course...  It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the Logitech, which I've been really pleased with.

Although I'm not really excited about this one, a Cherry G80-1851LPMDE. Bought it mostly for PBT keycaps, and to have a PCB-mounted keyboard more compact than full-sized.

Got a Ducky Black Alps 1087xm on the way to use at my new job, as I can't deal with the rubber dome, low-profile Logitech board i've been provided. Hopefully noise won't be an issue as everyone in my section of the office(development and testing) wears headphones all day.

I've recently switched from a G9 and a rat7 to the DA black and am pretty happy.  The only issue I have with the da black is the scroll wheel can be a little squeeky sometimes.

As long it doesn't "rattle" too much I'm fine with it...
Only thing I probably gonna miss is a button next to the scrollwheel (for quick-switching weapon<->defi in BF3)

This is actually and older version of the one sold today. If you look closer you will see it only has 2 button while the new grey version have 4 button.

I don't actually use the 2 extra buttons so there's no problem. I've tried Setpoint to bind the extra right button to automatic scroll but well... let's say Setpoint SUCKS and it made my computer laggy as hell.

No, not gaming. If I run into trouble I also have an extra 560ti lying around until work can ship me a second 660ti. Or I might just end up throwing a 670 in there, but since I'm not gaming I think the 660 should be able to handle it.

Well... I'm up and running. Totally underestimated how much desk space 3 30" monitors takes up, only two will fit on my desk (time for a new desk for work). I spaced and forgot to take pics of the build, but I'll snap some shots of the desk setup and post 'em in the media thread.

I'm moving out of this place in a month, so I'm probably just going to nab a pair of Ergotron MX's for the side monitors
