MX Springs will be named by the Actuation force cN  -  From October

          1g*f  =  0.98cN    (cN = centi Newton, You can say  1g = 1cN )
          1Kgf  =  9.8N        (Newton : a unit of force, a SI unit)

Let's follow the Cherry Standard,  abolish the bad habit!

If you're looking for another tester I'd be happy to throw my hat in the ring. I have done a bunch of testing with alps mashups with complicated and newer matias and have plenty of loose orange, cream, salmon and green's lying around to test with.

I just got the MX springs I ordered. I love the 62g! It's so crisp inside inside an ergo switch! What's the 63.5g limited edition one like?

Do Not lube my springs, please, I do Recommend Dont!   :)

63.5g is more bouncing back, i designed it so, i feel it so, but still not 100% happy.

Oops, I shouldn't say ergo switch. I just swapped into in a Zealio housing. Those aren't considered the same thing right?

Hmm, I may have to order some of those springs too!

No I didn't have a spare switch aside from some zeal switches and a few cherry mx milk switches.
I just changed springs.

Guess what came in today?! My i-rocks K76M! It's amazing, you can actually feel Alps style actuation. It's a bit noisy though and the keys have a rattle to them. I put in a Matias spring and it really improved the key feel!

I definitely want to try SPRiT's new alps springs in this keyboard.

I am not an official Tester and have to shut up, but tempted to buy it tomorrow.
Which model would you recommend?

Well, I only got the blue one because I wanted the clicks. I can say I'd recommend it for modding. IMHO the crappy springs make it way rattle way to much in stock condition.

I'll use it like this for a while, but I'm definitely modding the springs once I can, and I will harvest them for my Infinity 60% PCB. (Eventually my UHK, but that's going to be a good while yet.)

I'll try and shoot a video tomorrow. I'm at work and don't have much of a lunch break left to eat! Lol.

We have a sound booth here so I'll see if I can make an objective recording beside my Ergo Pro...but I'll have to jerry rig a desk in there first.

In the meantime some photos:

From images I've found, the pins of these i-Rocks switches appear to be Alps-compatible, but based on this one, I'm very worried by the Cherry-style stem on the bottom of the switch housing:

I've seen a couple of promotional videos with these, while the pin spacing seems to be compatible with standard Alps switches, the MX dimple on the bottom means that you will have to drill your PCB or handwire, and I'm fairly certain you cannot use the slider in a standard Alps housing due to the way the spring retainer is shaped (and also I think the standard Cherry MX cross-shaped stem is slightly wider than an Alps slider in the vertical direction.

In short, these are probably totally incompatible with current Alps boards/PCBs and would require significant modding if you want to use them. I would still like to get my hands on some to try them out though, maybe Sprit can arrange a small 'Taster' groupbuy

Alps Age Returns?

As the Alps had been dominaent for two decades from 1980' - 1990', there are hugh amounts of varients, and clones more than we can imagine.
Even Alps Japan had overseas factories and foreign partners everywhere in Korea, Taiwan, China, Mexico, America, Costarica ...
At this moment We are going to bring the History Back to Life!
We are watching A Renaissance of Cherry MX and its Clones everywhere,  Why Not for the Alps?
When a fellow Korean member Duck borrowed my Alps boards, as he got none of Alps, to measure the dimensions for his Duck mini v2 three years ago,
I started preparing for the wider range of Alps custom springs and parts beyond my personal taste.

Really Appreciate for Sharing All Guys!

Oh! Congrat!   :)
As the vintage Alps boards are mostly 101 or 104 or more keys,  I had included each 130 pcs a bag, for the 13 Testers.
As I got some leftovers, please send me your order form with a comment 'Alps Tester'  :)
But due to the weekend, i just worry about the deadline to post the Report!
So we have done organizing The board of Testers.
I will shut up myself from now on!   :-X :-X :-X

Are 4u and 3u gold-plated Cherry stabilizers available?
3u 6u are under production,  4u 5u will follow according to the factory schedule.  The Factory is one of the Suppliers for Samsung, LG Electronics, and have been manufacturing the MX custom springs for us for the last three years.
