Today is a great day for my mechanical keyboard journey
« on: Tue, 04 December 2012, 22:27:33 »
Not only I got the Realforce 10th u55g version to complete my Topre collection, but also I got my first IBM Model M keyboard.  :D :D

The built quality of the Model M is superb, the stablizer wire is twice the size of MX's  :) The only drawback is the noise, I can't type on it too much at night.

The Realforce 55g feels great, even better than the silent version which was my favorite.

Cheers
All those keyboards will be lost in time....

Woo!  Congratulations!

Really walking the tight rope of exclusivity there :)

No wonder the model Ms are still going strong - they were built to last.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I wait a long time for this, and finally got it from a member here. Thanks Geekhack  :) (My wallet hates geekhack though.)

You're welcome. I'm glad you like it. :D

10th Anniversary Edition, too, with those pretty grey and blue keycaps.

I'd rather someone have it that will actually use it, rather than letting it sit in its box in my closet.

The 55g AE is probably one of my favorite boards ever. Having a hard time deciding between that and the HHKB.

Congrats!
