I'm looking for a TKL keyboard with "hard" buttons
« on: Mon, 05 December 2022, 11:56:04 »
I have an old Logitech K260 keyboard and I like it a lot. I like that "hard" keystroke. I'm looking for a TKL keyboard (classic, just cut numeric keypad, no modifications), low profile, non clicky, with as hard buttons as possible, wireless would be ideal. It can be membrane or mechanical. I had quite a large number of keyboards, but unfortunately, if I find a nice mechanical one, it has too light buttons (I have red buttons). I searched, I wanted to find a membrane tkl, low-profile, and unfortunately, they somehow do not produce. I reserve that it is about normal TKL (not the weird ones, with a strange keyboard layout, e.g. logitech). If anyone could suggest anything, I'd be grateful.

I don't think you can find a keyboard close to being your Logitech K260. The reason its feels ''hard'' is because, of the domes aging. How older the domes are the more stiffer they get. The closest thing i can probably think of is a Razer Mecha membrane but, they don't seem to sell TKL versions.

In fact, this keyboard is actually maybe 10 years old (maybe more). Thank you for the info.

A Realforce R3 has wireless versions, after market domes cover a spectrum of weights and tactility(DES and BKE), and TKL models. But it is expensive as electro-capactives are and hard to source if not in Japan last I knew. There are proxies, though. Leopold ECs and R2 Realforces are easy to get.

Get a TKL with hot swap with some decent tactile switches and do a spring swap to something like 85-100g or more.
Catch them on holiday sale you can often get springs for about $10.

Not sure how low profile you want (switch,  board or both) but you can get different springs and hot swap in those as well now.
