Both the clear and purple coatings are sprayed on and UV-cured. afaik there isn't going to be any flaking/chipping etc, my clear proto has held up very well

yeah everything is from this factory! i just didn't get pics of the weights.

ordered the PCB spacers tonight - so at this point everything is ordered/paid for aside from the second payment to the factory for the cases and shipping.

PCBs and PCB spacers are shipping to me currently. The cases will ship to me likely in the next 2-3 days, and I should receive them early next week. Then QC, packing and shipping. Gotta figure out the box situation, will likely do something simple.

I also posted this on the discord update channel (discord.hiney.cc) the other day:

Quote
so my QC criteria for hbcp will be external only. if there's internal ano defects or stuff that isn't seen while the board is built it will qualify as A stock. I will do my best to match top/bottom ano if there is a large difference

I'll have extras - hopefully A and B stock. I'm not sure on numbers of which yet, I'm hoping to avoid having more made from the factory as A stock for the GB orders but it may be possible. Extras won't sell til after January 1st regardless. I'll post here on this thread as well as on my Discord server when I have more info.

Got the PCB spacers in - I should be getting the main PCBs early this week. Cases will be getting here sometime this week.

about time something stupid happens, lol

Looking closely at the PCBs last night led me to realizing that the ANSI and ISO enter footprints don't have Alps-compatible pin holes. This is definitely my mistake as I had three different prototype versions done before the final. Gladly it's a small issue based on the number of Alps users expected (going from how many bought Alps plates from the group buy).

The plan is to reach out to each customer that ordered an Alps plate and ask them if they'd like me to either 1. add small holes in the PCB where the Alps pins will go (this will be very simple and may just need some solder bridging) or 2. ordering a small amount of corrected PCBs just for the Alps-using customers, and a small amount of extras - I'm talking like 20 total PCBs.

There's no way I'd replace all 250 PCBs ordered as it will only affect 10 or less users overall. If you're a customer who ordered an Alps plate or you just want me to mod your PCB, please contact me with your order number and I can take care of it.

So VIA won't be on the PCBs out of the box, because it doesn't fully support the RGB features yet. Will release a full via version once that stuff is integrated.

all black and pink alu HBCPs have been QC'd and are ready to ship. I may try to get these out starting early next week

others are going well so far.

If anyone who picked up a purple or regular PC HBCP wants to swap for a pink aluminum kit let me know!

18 black hbcps are currently out of my hands and in the hands of USPS/DHL or delivered.

the remaining black ones (except for bigger orders, like 4+ PCBs/plates) and any that have an Alps plate order (read below) will be out Tuesday. I will hopefully also start getting pink ones out then too.

Silver and the PC ones will be shipped after I get some more of the black/pink out. Trying to make some more room for myself lol

VIA is active for the PCB but it does not come with the VIA hex flashed. You can download it here: https://caniusevia.com/docs/download_firmware#0 Note that you cannot change the indicator colors with VIA *yet* - however you can use the RGB commands now for the underglow. To change the indicator colors you have to do it in QMK itself by adjusting the HSV_* values in the hbcp.c file. If you need help with this message me and I can help ya out.

Regarding the alps stuff, I decided to bite the bullet and order some new PCBs with a fixed hybrid alps+MX enter footprint. I will have some (8-10ish) extras for whomever may want one. I will be hand soldering the MCU/USB/RGB LEDs on these so they may take a little longer to get out, however there aren't too many so hopefully not too much longer lol. It's the right thing to do for everyone involved.

The patience has been outstanding, thanks yall
