Just figured who outbid me on the two most recently finished CC auctions that included Ionspheric Blue and Octopink. And guess what?

They are immediately back on eBay attempting to flipping those caps for profit. ****ing hell. I hate this place.

It's a fellow geekhacker too, so I hope you feel good pal.

I know but besides the guy with the Realforce keyboard who has 3 there's 3 more.

I think I stopped bidding on the Blue one at $80 and it only went to 150 or so. *Edit* it was 192.

He's had them for a while actually if you check his pictures before, why can't people just get along instead of bickering with each other .-.

Also whilst on topic isn't this classed as advertising thus against the rules, just trying to keep this thread on topic is all as rather than talking about people not winning ebay listings shouldn't we be more worried about the fact Mr CC has yet to respond to anyone.

TLDR: Stop bickering, play nice, and stay on topic :/

I actually did a few weeks back, nothing that I could find. He shipped caps a month ago so he's around, doesn't help any of us still waiting on caps though.

Honestly I'm getting a little bit annoyed with the double standards around here. Originative was run out of here and had their forum closed for failing to ship products or respond to messages but it seems the mods are completely okay with CC doing the same. IIRC someone said he made just over $10,000 during Clackvent, I don't think it's out of line for us to be expecting to see something for our money.

Some of us spent OBSCENE amounts of time trying to get spots in Clackvent CC, please do us the courtesy of at least telling us what the score is.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

IIRC someone said he made just over $10,000 during Clackvent, I don't think it's out of line for us to be expecting to see something for our money.

Some of us spent OBSCENE amounts of time trying to get spots in Clackvent CC, please do us the courtesy of at least telling us what the score is.

To be fair, it's not just the mods. It's the community in general. People were extremely upset over how Originative handled their business and *****ed up a storm. However, if you attempt to do that in reference to CC you might as well just forget it.

As I have argued before in this thread, people with CC boners are constantly telling people to have "faith" and not witchhunt/complain. They believe it's better to just wait instead of airing out their frustrations. Which, frankly, I think is hilarious. Considering it's OK if CC does this, but if another vendor did the same **** everyone would be going berserk.

So, you're absolutely correct in reference to the double standards. That's the thing that bothers me the most about this situation.

I agree there are double standards to a degree, however..

Originative had a history of being unreliable. They did not have a perfect reputation to fall back on. It was just a pattern of **** up, anger, forgiveness, more orders, **** up, anger, forgiveness, more orders, etc.

Clack has a 5+ year history of always fulfilling orders and satisfying customers. He has a stellar reputation to fall back on, and it just wouldn't make sense for him to do this on purpose after all those years of good service.

I'm sure if clack did this multiple times and some people never got their stuff then things would be different.

You're right. I basically forget about his overall rep and focus on the negative. Well said.

Has any that knows his name Googled it to make sure he doesn't show up in an obituary, police blotter, etc.

In addition to what photek said, from a mod perspective it's a bit different since we're talking about a vendor vs an artisan.  There are different requirements for the two groups, and situations are handled differently.

As an aside, obviously no one is happy about the situation here, but think about it this way - Clack is not actively taking "orders" or otherwise collecting money right now, like Originative was when his vendor status was reviewed.  That was a more urgent situation to disassociate from someone actively taking money and not delivering, to prevent additional people from falling into the trap.

I have received a reply from Clack on my Paypal dispute. I'll avoid sharing the personal details he included in the reply (that is up to him to share with the community), but acknowledged my change of address request, and said he would be hiring someone to ship all of the remaining orders for him (his health remains extremely poor). His goal is to have all previous orders fulfilled by early July.

I am going to see if I can pass along a message on his behalf (he has limited access to the internet/GH currently), but regardless I'll be withdrawing my dispute tomorrow.
