Because people only kind of care about the housing for the sound as it's a bit scratchy. It's the large tactile leaf that is the biggest draw; it protrudes out farther and in a particular way that people like. No reason to use this housing when you can get smoother housings for cheaper (vintage black, retooled black, black bottom gateron, TTC black, etc). Panda linears do have fans, but they were a hard sell until the tactile combination was discovered if go read the old Invyr Panda GB thread.

Well, this sucks... I just now realized, after paying the invoice, that this is merely a switch housing required for the holy panda. I would still have to obtain a halo clear/true stem?? Not that I am completely against it piecing a switch together but I thought the price drop was meant to be competitive with Massdrop's Holy Panda. If it's $.60/each it's not even close to competitive as MD's Holy Panda includes both halo stem and invyr panda housing all pre-assembled at $.72/each. I can't imagine this half a switch was priced at one point at $1 each...

I regret paying $70 for half a switch.


*Edit* I mistakenly read MD's Holy Panda switch costs. They come out around $1/switch. While these with the halo trues/clears will come out at a similar price now with the price reduction. Apologies.

They're able to do that because they're ordering them to be manufactured, these are already in-stock, but Invyr Panda/GSUS are **** switches without the Halo stem, so you basically have to buy them anyway, which means even at the price these are at and the Halo switches, it's still $1/switch USD.

It's not a "tactic", it's actually offering buyers the chance to get better value per switch, and this happens with lots of products.

When I see something listed as +$70 I'm not thinking base $20 + $70 = $90 actual price. Why not just list the actual price? I can't tell you how you would interpret that, but I can tell you it was deceptive to me.

It's just pricing tiers. It's also there because the price drops after you buy so many switches.

Yup. I can verify that MX Clear and Zealios V1/V2 stems in Panda housing retain their own distinct feel but with extra 'oof' tactility. To me, Panda Effect is reduced with Outemu Sky stems for some reason. The non-Halo combo I liked the most is Zealios V2 stem combo, aka Zanda V2, which added something extra to the Zealios V2 feel.

Luckily I managed to get in on the Halo True drop on MD two days ago and got the shipping notification a few hours later. So now I'm crossing my fingers that these GSUS switches will be shipping out soon as well.
