We will be collaborating with ThicThock for their very delicious DL springs. :)

  • Nature: Tactile feel
  • Its gonna be a slightly more tactile ver of Ergo Clears ;)
  • Non-lubed at all (yea, the legs arent lubed too)

Old Specifications:-
More
•   Material: Nylon housing, POM stem and Poly top
•   Color reference: TBC with manufacturer
•   Spring: 62G

I really like the colourway, but maybe you could try contacting keebwerk, and make this a Tacit recolour, instead of another T1 version.
I'd love to see that collab, and I'm pretty sure keebwerk would be up to this aswell :thumb:

If the majority wants a lesser tactility, you could order the stems in linear housings instead, they smoothen the tactility some. I tried Koalas in durock linears previously and they feel less sharp yet still plenty tactile.

Tacits are keebwerk exclusivity/NDA bound. Durock/JWK etc is not allowed to make another silent tactile, nor a recolour of the Tacits without keebwerk consent.

And unrelated to that, T1's dont have a rounded bump, theyre one of the sharper tactile bumps on the market just behind sky v2s....

Love the look, but not down for them being just a T1 recolor. Any chance a linear version could be added? If they tactility could be toned down I'd be in for the tactile version, but I don't think Durock/JWK have anything other than the T1 stem profile for tactiles. I gotta agree with the others in this thread that are just plain burned out on MX tactiles trying to have as big as a bump as possible. If Cherry would get off their ass & retool the molds for MX clears they'd make a killing. I could see a huge resurgence in popularity for ergo clears if they were smoother than they are now.

There is quite a good amount of interest for the an EVA-01 colorway stabilizers. Hence, I've decided to do an interest check to gauge whether we can make it happened or not. Please help me feel in the forms is you're interested to get one alongside the Shogōki switches. Thank you for your support!

These are very cool. I think I need some Rara samples to get a sense of what I'm getting into in terms of tactility. I did not love T1s. Need that sharp HP snap.

All of these super tactile switches are killing me. I wish someone would release a tactile that was similar to MX Browns, but smoother with a lighter spring, like 45g bottom out

Sent from my SM-G970F using Tapatalk

Have you tried Aliaz switches?  Sounds like just what you're looking for.  I like them okay, but for me I need the nice big round tactile bumps!
Right, what's the point in going tactile... if you can barely even feel the feedback. Sack up, and get with it I say!

I don't know what nerve-damaged fingers you'd need to have to "barely feel" the feedback of clears but I don't envy you.

All these modern super-tactiles are way too slow. I have no idea if the RARA will be any good but at the very least these will look nice.

I mainly want to be able to play games on them. Having a zeal/HP/T1 switch for that is just plain annoying. I like a little bit of feedback so that if I'm resting my hands on the keys I know I'm not accidentally activating a key. I've tried aliaz switches and they were alright but the springs were pretty crap - I might get some 45-50g springs for them and see if that makes them a bit better

I'm so glad this was changed to the Rara stem from T1 and unlubed! And the linear spring to boot, you guys are doing too much right.. I am skeptical, what's the catch lol? I only found out because it was linked in the new IC for Eva themed linear switches. Maybe I am blind, or maybe some more IC's need posting on Reddit.  I think this GB is important for the community. It's been over a year since Zealios were available, and I feel like newcomers to the hobby are really lacking an option other than Ergo Clears for normalish tactile switches. The days of the top bump tactiles are finally simmering down, thank you!

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, so I was wondering what type of mounting the stabilizers will support, i.e. PCB screw in/mount or plate mount or will you have multiple options available?

I hope these get made, I'd really like to get some for a full EVA build. Saw some linear switches elsewhere, but I feel like the truly EVA thing to do would be some sort of tactile switch to really feel the force of the 3rd impact with every key.

Thanks for everyone's continuous interest and support on the switches.
The GB will only happen after I received the samples. I would want to make sure everything is correct before starting the gb. The switches will definitely get made. Sadly, I don't think the stabs will be entering gb, as there arent enough interest to secure the MoQ.

Last but not least, everyone please stay safe. If there's any update, I'll update it here. The next update will be when I get the photos, after would be the vendors and gb date.

Thank you for your patience and unrelenting support. :)

Didn't know about stabs, people just aren't checking the post for a JWK switch that often. They will likely do very well considering the Eva keyset and other switches that ran.

Rara vs. T1

Here's what the designer of RARA, '43,' said in a Drop post about Rara vs T1:
Quote
I'm 43, RARA is  a physically different design, the spring/ and leaf ping is more quite. RARA is not the T1 clones.
It is very similar to 62g mx clear, more smooth.

So these are supposed to be similar to MX Clear in intensity, but with JWK smoothness.

A variation of the T1 stem with different materials.

Quote
In image's left side is rara's stem ,and the right side is KBDFANS T1's stem,
the red line at T1's stem is the point where T1 create tactile
,but the black line at Rara's stem is where rara create tactile

Quote
yeah, the difference in structure is small, but the difference in feel is obvious

Thats the difference between t1 and rara,

the stem which at the front is t1, rara is behind it

they all line up and cling at each other

Force Diagram:

Chinese typing test:

https://www.bilibili.com/video/av77160874?from=search&seid=11444903851290698992

You can read what the designer said, in this Drop thread:

https://drop.com/buy/jwk-rara-tactile-custom-mechanical-switches/talk/2562222?utm_source=linkshare&referer=BPKDQH

Reviews indicate that the switch [in the original JWK Rara housing] feels good, but may have ping.

There is supporting evidence that the designer was correct about the changes to the T1 stem.

'43' said that the T1 stem had been modified to reduce the overall tactile intensity, with the higher-tactility curve being pushed further down the tactile leg.

One review seems to corroborate this:

Quote
Okay, now that I'm home, I tried some Raras against T1s (Red stem, smoky housing), Koalas, and Lilacs. Each switch had Sprit 63.5 Slow springs in them, no lube or film added.
Raras definitely are prelubed on stem and bottom housing rails.

In terms of stock smoothness, my experience was T1s>Raras>Koalas=Lilacs.
For sound, Raras are lower pitched and bassier than T1s, and are slightly more muted than Koalas, less bassy than Lilacs. The upstroke of the Raras sounds to be the quietest of all 4 switches.

In terms of feel, Raras feel like they have more pretravel than T1s. Holding them side by side and pressing gently till I start to feel the bump, I can definitely see the Rara stem press down more than the T1 (seems like it goes twice as deep, in my rough totally-not-professional guesstimate). The tactile bump also feels less sharp and less pronounced than the T1s. I can see what the 43 means by the Ergo Clear comparison. An interesting tactile option that I hope is more widely available, feels and sounds like a bit of a "stealthier" (but not silenced) tactile option in the JWK lineup.

So this might be a more polite 'T1' more comparable to MX Clear, as advertised. Sure would be interesting to buy them in these Shogoki housings.

Haha smart. I'm partial to KBDFans, but I specifically wanted a full size keyboard because this will be used for games at home, and many games require a full range of keys. Having to press multiple things just to activate something in game is kind of a pain.

The 75% is used for work (Also with the SA Berserk Unit-02 themed keycap set :p)

There was also a pre-order for "Crane Tactile" switches, which I think also use the RARA stem. That happened in the summer, I don't know if they've shipped yet.

Everyone is waiting eagerly for the Shogoki, rest easy, they haven't even gone to GB phase.

Probably not through the GB as it has ended but people will sell them on mechmarket after they arrive. If you're not specifically interested in this colour, these are pretty much just T1 switches so there are plenty of other colour variants that should feel about the same.

I also haven't recieved my order on November 10, 2020 from ThicThock.

I'm waiting for them to respond to my contact form submission on their site and no response from them on Discord.

Hopefully, this gets sorted since they're selling them on their website so they should have switches to send me

Does anyone know what's going on with this GB? I ordered from my local vendor during the GB and still haven't received the switches. It seems like some vendors have had these switches for months. My local vendor says they haven't received them yet

I had checked with ThicThock, and all orders should have gone out already. May I know which vendor did you buy yours from?
