There are also solid color fn clacks also...just an FYI...although they are normally part of a set.

Oh yeah thanks!  :thumb:

I assume, orangesicle, octopink , mint gum.

Perhaps I should say how common are any single color BS clacks...I know some have sold recently but overall you don't see them very much. Just curious :P

I haven't seen very many BS clacks in general. AFAIK, there's seven colors in the BS flavor:

- Revenge Red
- Ionospheric Blue
- Hack Orange
- Depth Black
- Mr. Friday
- OG Tricolor
- Salute

Seems like Mr. Friday and the original tri-color are the rarest of the bunch. And I think there was only one Salute BS sold over the July 4th 4grabs sale. But I'm not 100% on that.

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46436.msg1143078#msg1143078

8 BS clack colors.

Should be nine yes? Two that I didn't list that are in Balanar's picture are Hardcore White and Gumrot Green.

Edit: Hm, maybe you're right. Don't know if there's a Depth Black for sure.

The depth black one was just Snoopy messing around. There are 8 BS clacks.

Looks like there's 9 confirmed BS clacks:

- Revenge Red
- Hardcore White
- Ionospheric Blue
- Hack Orange
- Depth Black
- Mr. Friday
- OG Tricolor
- Salute
- Gumrot Green

Found this out through snoopy's collection here and balanar's collection here.

"Gumrots come in MX and Topre stems, and can be solid or transluscent." - EK sold only the mx version. Did a topre gumrot appear somewhere?

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

The overhaul has begun. I've updated the What are Clacks section to include a more up-to-date and detailed explanation of the different Clack types. I also will now say that I will be transitioning from the mediaWiki to this thread. So I'll be updating the colors here at another time.

Edit: This update is pretty cool too.

Awesome, thanks. I want a Topre HHKB function key so bad now!

There are fn cc's now???

Always have been! Oktoberfest, Julysicle, and Candy Corn FN's

Just so few around by the looks of things that no one has seen them. Only ones I have seen are on eth0s's board.

yep he has julysicle and oktoberfest and i dont know if anyone here has the candy corn :( maybe just clacks close friends or ripster.
I think eth0s also has the machine green, toxic, pink and maybe the yellow fn keys?

From what I see, only one fn per color (but not every color) were released to the public.

Click Clack is an artist in his own right.  He does not need to copy Lego.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Can somebody tell me which of my drunken skulls is normal and which not?

50121-0

One is clear transparent, its possible to look through it and clearly see the topre stem... The other one is not really transparent, it's more mat/opaque... The other difference is the face. One has that very bright white face. and the other one has a kind of thiner and not so bright white face. I know that they're handmade and each is different... but as you see on the picture... they just look different...

I'm just curious how other ones of them look and what would be considered normal.

From the two that I've seen in person, the one you posted on the left looks more "correct". I think that most of the ones I've seen in pictures are brighter white like the left one.

That being said, I've never actually owned or seen more than one at once so hopefully others can chime in with their thoughts too.

Well the one I sent Snoopy is on the right and I got that one straight from EK.  Hard to tell if one is more "correct" than the other, but my guess is slight variations in the materials Click Clack used cause the differences in color / translucent-ness between the two.

Have no fear, they are both more or less normal.
Well... as normal as drunken skull keycaps can be. =P

The left one is the frosted texture (which affects apparent translucency) and the one on the right is not.
The one on the right also has a more translucent frothy head. There are usually three different stages of frothy.
I thought the variation made it more interesting. Same with the candy corns, Julysicles, etc.

Can somebody tell me which of my drunken skulls is normal and which not?

(Attachment Link)

One is clear transparent, its possible to look through it and clearly see the topre stem... The other one is not really transparent, it's more mat/opaque... The other difference is the face. One has that very bright white face. and the other one has a kind of thiner and not so bright white face. I know that they're handmade and each is different... but as you see on the picture... they just look different...

I'm just curious how other ones of them look and what would be considered normal.

-cc  =)

Huh that's really cool. Thanks for the info clickclack!

The level of intentional detail and differences is awesome. Really makes each and every one so much more precious.

Also, good to see you're back, good sir :)

You'd be one of the few people, if not the only person, who has both.

Quick clack question: I had a look at the colours list and didn't spot anything but does anyone know if there is a white or grey clack that would match the white or grey keys of a white HHKB? Hardcore white seems a little too white and I haven't seen a light grey that would match the modifiers.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure zenuty has 3 different grey shades of clack skulls. Not sure if they were mx or topre. I remember seeing a picture. I will try and dig up the photo

Looks like they were mx
