Title: 1KB and 3KB
Post by: ImpendingxDoom on Sun, 17 May 2015, 18:20:59
Just wanted to share the new OneKeyBoard and ThreeKeyBoard I got from i3oilermaker!

I've set my 1KB to be my password, and the 3KB to be CTRL + C, CTRL + T, CTRL + V ENTER.
(My password is long and easy to mess up, and I like to look stuff up a lot!)

i3oiler had a great unveiling at Keycon 2015, and I've wanted some single switches for a while now. The aluminum cases and simple UI seemed fantastic to me, so I decided to give it a try.

Not only are they incredibly simplistic (I bought disassembled kits; techkeys.us purchases will come assembled), but incredibly easy to program as well. Even if you don't have a use for macros/gaming/commands they make a beautiful display for some of your rarer caps! I went with 2 of Binge's Lion Keyngs.

Kaze likes them too

Oh wow, I will definitely be picking one of each up. The 3KB will be perfect for media controls

Reddit seems to like mocking the power of these devices.  The concept is so fun and anyone can enjoy a nice looking controller w/their favorite switches.

I was thinking of this during the whole presentation.

I also bought one during the convention and put it together this evening when I got home from work.  I have to say it's kind of fun to tinker with.  Mine is heading into work to be put to use with my day-to-day monotonous tasks.

I didn't see any reddit mocking...link? (Update - saw it - legit criticism - this is not for everyone) I only saw this:

http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/36fypy/techkeys_onekeyboard_pcb_only_12/ (http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/36fypy/techkeys_onekeyboard_pcb_only_12/)

LOL at the Onion video - saw that a long time ago totally forgot about it.

This is going to hit LinusTechTips next weekend and should be interesting...you can watch the pre-released video now on Vessel https://www.vessel.com/videos/U8aoIQCOL (https://www.vessel.com/videos/U8aoIQCOL)

Linus rocks and it will be interesting to see how his 1.5 Million subscribers react to it :)

The 1KB is really pretty but the 3KB is 3x as useful for not much more - tough decision!

Obviously the answer is to get both. At least for me it was :p

There's also a mistake on the onekeyboard and threekeyboard page at the bottom.

"- switch LED maybe added to middle switch, USB mini cable not included"

It should be, "may be" unless it's like a random draw where you add it when you feel like it =P

So like
"- switch LED may be added to middle switch, USB mini cable not included"

Well you never know, maybe there is an LED. I'll never tell.

If I could think of a good use for them I would, but I just think they look cool.  Maybe I should take up OSU... :))

Techkey if it's not done yet, link this to OSU communities, they apparently have use for 3keys keyboards.

Is there a blue onekeyboard? I could have sworn that I saw one a few months ago...

These are pretty cool. I would use them for my email and my not so important password's.

There was one, but all that is left in stock is the Dark Grey

Do you think the blue ones will be back in Stock before May or should I go for the dark grey before they get sold out too?

I would go with the Dark Grey.  The OneKeyBoard was a fun experiment, but was far less popular than the ThreeKeyBoard.  I would say it is unlikely that it will be re-stocked

I just thought, would these work plugged in to the back of a CST L-trac?
