I was going to mix this set with some of my OG Cherry keycaps. However, I'm a legend nitpicker, and after a more scrutinized look at the set, I spot more and more issues.
A little crud on the spacebar here -- not a big deal, but I'm not sure how hard the crud is on the bar and whether it'd be easily cleanable. I haven't opened to package yet though, as that could affect the resale value if I so choose to resell this set out of disappointment.
I noticed right away that the bottom row legends are very misaligned. So bad, in fact, that it looks like the Control legend is centered on the cap, and not left-aligned. This would've been
tolerable, but cheaper keycaps have these types of issues, which really degrades my experience. By this point, I've started to compare these keycaps to the OG Cherry equivalent.
The Fn key isn't even aligned horizontally. It is higher than normal.
The Shift key legends are also degrading. Some parts of the icon is bowed, mainly where "the square meets the triangle of the arrow", if that makes any sense.
Some legends are "lanky", stretched vertically. The Alt key looks to be alright, but the Pg Dn is not quite there. Pg Up has the same issue, but I didn't take a picture of it.
And the backslash key looks to be very misaligned too. The 1u key has thinner legends than the 1.5u one also.
The "e" in the Super keys are a telltale signs of bad legends.
I'm not very into contemporary items like GMK sets, as I mainly work with more vintage items, but with this outcome the set here is quite disappointing for me. Let me just make it clear that this is not the vendor's fault, nor do I blame them for it. But, man... I thought I didn't have that high of an expectation. I did hear that GMK's quality has dropped considerably in newer produced sets, though, and I guess this set is one of its victims. Quite a shame. I'd imagine other people have the same issues as I did.
