The fine grit bead-blasting results in a very smooth finish ;) The "PEAKS" looks absolutely fantastic! And I am very satisfied with that!

As you can see, I also have a prototype for the "PRESS". PCB still needs more work, but it's a fun little project and it will certainly have ALPS support for those who love ALPS!

Hi guys,

It's been a while :) The prototype took longer than I expected, but they just arrived! I will take some photos later today. Let's wait and see!

In the mean time, I have created a Google form where you can vote for the top pieces you prefer!

Last week I put a rendering of grid 600, a keyboard chassis for GH60 enthusiasts, on reddit.(

After collecting some feedbacks and suggestions, I assume it is the right time for some updates.

grid 600 Specs:
   1. Keyboard chassis based on GH60
   2. Supports tray-mount PCB, not compatible with IKBC Poker II and GK64.
   3. Has a battery compartment (96x50x3 mm)
   4. 5.5° fixed angle
   5. Aluminum parts will be bead-blasted with fine grit.
   6. Interchangeable cover modules


Cover Modules:
   1. Type 01 "CLASSIC" : A regular, "Model F"-inspired flat top.

   2. Type 02 "NEON" : Type 01 with 3 self-luminous tritium vials. (Red, Green, Blue)

   3. Type 03 "PEAKS" : Form inspired by mountains.

   4. Type 04 "FLASH" : Flat top with programmable RGB lighting.
[attach=5]

   5. Type 05 "PRESS" : With 4 extra programmable Keys. (Left)

   6. Type 06 "PAPER": With a 2inch E-ink Paper. (Raspberry Pi Zero would fit in)

A prototype has been ordered, I am trying different colors on cover modules. Will see how that turn out :)

If you are mentioning the small PCB for the "PRESS", no. But since this is a chassis design, you will be able to use hot swappable 60% PCB on to it.

I don't currently have plans for making the PCB for the "PRESS" hot swappable because it will be mx/alps dual support and will not have a plate to secure the switches. However, if there are enough interest, I will offer extra PCBs.

The idea came from a reddit user :) all credits to him! However, the e-ink paper module may not be available for now as I will need to run more test on it.

No, this won't be a limited run :) and yes, you will be able to have different tops in different colors for sure! And I am planning to offer 3-4 colors for the top piece

E-paper may not make it's appearance in the first launch I am afraid :( But I will put more work onto it and make it happen some time soon. It will be stellar to control it via the keyboard!

Hi Draic,

Sure yes you can use Type-C PCBs! It will have a PCB daughter board and internal adapter cables, so mini/micro/c should all work.

This is not a heavy board as it has many cutouts to make room for the components for the top module pieces, weighting ~1.7kg with the bottom chassis + the PEAKS and without PCB, switches and keycaps on.

However, it will have custom rubber feet to secure it on the desktop. And will certainly explore more materials for the top piece in the future if things go well! Some might add heft and some might add functionality.

Most 60% PCBs will work! GH60, XD60, DZ60 all work fine! And I believe with some modifications, XD75RE will also work. It also has a battery compartment, so it should also support some bluetooth 60% PCBs.

This will not come with a PCB, so you can have any layout as long as it's on a 60% PCB. I will also have blockers for WKL(1u*2) and HHKB(1.5u*2 and 2.5u*1) available.

NO, you don't need to hand wire it. PCB and cable are provided, all you need is to plug it into the hub.

As in, does one lower the pcb and plat directly from the top ? the bottom chassis seems to be a single piece ?
Also is the left and right side of the chassis hollow ?

The modules are secured by screws drilling from the bottom of the chassis.

To change them, you will need to unscrew (and unplug the internal connection for FLASH or PRESS) and screw them back in.

I've got a Zeal60 with a frosted polycarbonate plate and MX Zilents that's going on there. Will desolder corner or win switches if I like the blockers enough. Gonna sell the blockers if I don't want/need them.

Mekanisk Nerd60 and Brass plate. That PCB might be tough to find but a DZ60 will be super easy to find and pretty cheap too!

Blockers were an add-on.

There is a 100% chance we won't get refunded for the tritium.

As far as I can tell, there are zero blemishes. The material is really nice and honestly once of the nicest boards I've owned. It's on par with stuff from Rama Works.

I got a grid600 and decided to swap to my flash module. While moving it around my desk, I held both of the buttons on the module down and I believe I have reset the module. However, there's no explanation as to what in the world that means, though now it only displays only white.

How do I use the RGB effects on this module after a reset? Is my only solution to solder the points on the PCB and re-flash it (they have this information on the gridishere.com website)? I don't want to have to do that and it seems that a simple button combination shouldn't make the RGB strip cease all other functions, but I'm at a loss.

Anyone have any help or advice for this?

I got an email from Alex at zFrontier stating they're targeting mid to end of month for the reworked White ones. They should be back from the factory any day now for sorting and shipping.

Granted, it would be nice if there were updates from the runner here - have they been shipped to zFrontier yet? We can't know without hearing from them.

The fine grit bead-blasting results in a very smooth finish ;) The "PEAKS" looks absolutely fantastic! And I am very satisfied with that!

As you can see, I also have a prototype for the "PRESS". PCB still needs more work, but it's a fun little project and it will certainly have ALPS support for those who love ALPS!

Last week I put a rendering of grid 600, a keyboard chassis for GH60 enthusiasts, on reddit.(

After collecting some feedbacks and suggestions, I assume it is the right time for some updates.

grid 600 Specs:
   1. Keyboard chassis based on GH60
   2. Supports tray-mount PCB, not compatible with IKBC Poker II and GK64.
   3. Has a battery compartment (96x50x3 mm)
   4. 5.5° fixed angle
   5. Aluminum parts will be bead-blasted with fine grit.
   6. Interchangeable cover modules


Cover Modules:
   1. Type 01 "CLASSIC" : A regular, "Model F"-inspired flat top.

Pretty much hate it because its not green like i wanted it to be? if you can understand that, i bought one of every mod so id have a little bit of everything had i known that this was the color id get id have gotten a different mod in this color and changed my whole order accordingly, i kinda feel screwed because now im missing a mod and its just in my opinion a terrible color that i probably would have stayed away from all together and gotten more of another color.

You should be fine, I don't think the Pok3rs have anything special underneath, and the worst case scenario is you take the dampener out.

Post by: LevelSteam on Wed, 08 May 2019, 14:07:39: Bit of an update, but my Pok3r came today and my concerns over the dip switches fitting turned out to not really matter....since the board wont fit at all due to the plate being about a millimeter too wide for the frame. I assume this is mainly due to the added thickness from the coating itself.

I have some other parts on the way that I was planning on using for a different build but will allocate to this instead. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing.

Also, be *very* careful with the powder coated versions. I lightly tapped part of the frame with the Pok3r's plate while inspecting the fit and nicked off a bit of the white coating on mine. Not super noticeable, but I'll probably toach it up with some enamel anyway.

Unfortunately, I ordered HHKB-style blockers for it ... but I got three right-side blockers and no left-side ones. The single rounded corner on the blockers prevents me from using one on the left side, so I can't actually assemble my keyboard.

After all these months of waiting, this is *extremely* frustrating.

Your best bet would be to raise a ticket through the support system they have. Login to your account and find teh support button on the bottom right corner.

I've had a reply by this method usually within a day. Emailing Alex, I've had much less success.

They are very thin, and they tend to "splay out" when the module is being reinstalled; I accidentally severed one by pinching it between the module and the relatively sharp inner edge of the case. I strongly recommend wrapping the wires with a twist tie, heat shrink, or tape, in order to prevent this from happening. It's not that hard to repair, but it's something you don't want to have to do.

Mine works fine on a windows PC with a usb-c/usb-a cable, but won't work with a usb-c/usb-c cable on a macbook. At all. Does not appear in HID device list. Works fine if plugged straight into the PCB (a DZ60RGB).

Edit: it was the PCB. Changed to a DZ60rev3 non hotswap, works fine.

- some modules are function, e.g. like the LED panel of the Cybertruck / Cyberboard keyboard, or a bigger LCD panel, like those in Apple MacBook Pro, linked to the controller of the keyboard, e.g. to display layer information or time.

Also, i emailed asking about the possibility of another round, and was told they are working on a new version, a 65% so, a "Grid 650" I guess? I'm excited.
I think 60% HHKB is the best looking layout (something about having that 1st row being shorter then the rest, is very appealing to me) but 65% and TKL for that matter, look almost as good, and are a lot more functional for me.
