SPACE65:CyberVoyager is a keyboard based on the original Space65, it is redesigned by AirPotter, Oldcat, and Demos to make it a more awesome board. And we will be working together during the GB process.

Unfortunately you will not be able to use the Kailh ones, milmax sockets might work which has been discussed in the discord.

Yes it will be compatible, the dimensions are the same, and the R2 PCB will have the ESD protection which is desired by many users from feedback we received.
Also, it will be purple color to make it cyberpunk-ish, and added C-C support, added reset button, improved LEDs, etc. Thank you!

Alex on the build stream said the noise reduction pads seem to work to some degree. And if you choose the aluminum plate, the sound should not be as loud as CF plate in my own experience.

It should be close to the Think6.5's dark blue, this is under ample sunlight. When the color matching during production is done, I will share pictures in discord, Instagram, and geehack.

Hello, those two leaked ones are my priority because a lot of people like them. For the Schrodinger blind box pool, I may also try an all-black version with high-gloss chamfers, kind of like some iPhone chamfers. There are some other surface process technologies I would like to try, if successful and I am happy with, they will be put into the Schrodinger pool.

Thank you for the response. Is there a switch that you like that is relatively quiet. It doesn't have to be as quiet as a Zilent, but just not as loud as a panda.I think most non silenced tactile will be less noisy than the pandas, zeals might be a touch louder than others because of how aggressive the tactile event is, but shouldn't be as loud as pandas. You could try the qmx clips as a noise reducer. I find them to be less mushy than o-rings. I try to find on google without success, can someone tell me the difference between A-anode and E-electrophoresis in very simple way(as much as possible since I am not good at physics) ;DIn basic terms, anodizing and electrophoresis are different methods of applying the cost of paint. It is hard to obtain lighter colors like white and yellow using anodization, hence electrophoresis is used. Electrophoresis can be a more expensive method too, so some gb runners charge more for e-white, E-green etc.

I wonder, can i solder Kailh Hot Swap Sockets on the PCB? would there be any allowance issues between the PCB and the Vibration/Noise reduction pads?
Unfortunately you will not be able to use the Kailh ones, milmax sockets might work which has been discussed in the discord.

What would be the delivery lead time right now?
3-5 months. I believe there were 2 Gray GBs shipped within 3 months in the past. Others have been taking longer but reasonable. Hoping for no errors in the process this time - any unforeseeable error can delay 1 month to correct.

Can you provide more details on the extra LEDs - just for repair if one of the surface mount ones go out?
Extra SMD LEDs will be provided for free, in case your LED goes out later you can solder one on.

I think carbon fibre sounds a bit lower pitched compared to aluminium and might feel abit 'softer' when you type

I prefer carbon fiber for my linear switches. I like the sound and feel better. I have a brutal60 wtih creams on carbon fiber and a few skeleton carbon fiber boards wtih cherry blacks. I like them a lot.

If I look closely at the PCB (which is a v1 in the build stream) it looks like every switch has the option to add a LED to is. Is this correct? Will the new PCB has the same option?
And if so, can the LED be toggled on / off?

I wanted to add to my original order, so I sent a message to the e-mail address from the order confirmation. I got a response within a few hours. I was told to just place an order and let them know via e-mail. So, I ordered another PCB and badges and was NOT charged for additional shipping. I then e-mailed and asked for my two orders to be combined, and for my original extra badge color to be changed.

I think alexotos has brass L-shaped piece and brass logo piece, because the colours are so similar.
If the Robocop came like this I would 100% switch my order. I LOVE THAT LOOK!
Maybe we could have an option for naked or painted plates? Or if that's too much of a pain just offer one more colour way that includes a brass L-shaped piece and brass logo piece?
I know it's probably not going to happen, but I think a lot of people agree it would really finish it off.

Can we please finalize colors until GB is over? I'm pretty sure Potter said it would be brass previously., but all renders are with black.
I still hasn't pressed the "buy" button exactly because I'm still deciding on extra weight/badges I want to get, and L-shape gonna impact the choice immensely.

HYPE!! I'm definitely interested in picking this up in EVA. What does the purple in the EVA colorway and/or badges look like? Sorry all colorways of the production versions are pre-set according to the colorway choices. What Alex received was a prototype, it may not be the same as the pre-set colorways.

My intention is to make it brass, and PVD black all across, as black PVD has proven to look great in prior GBs.
With that being said, I will consider open-sourcing the L-shaped part model after GB, so you will be able to make your own with other materials.

I am super excited for this board. I got the Black Gold with extra pink badges. However, I'm starting to regret my decision of not buying an extra PCB. I had a couple unrelated PCBs break on me recently. Will there be many available for purchase after the boards ship?
They had it available on their website a couple days ago I think. They’re $50 outside the GB. I was considering getting an extra as well, but they’re currently sold out.
I don't think they plan on selling more PCBs, but check with them just to make sure. I'm assuming the only option now is aftermarket; I'm not completely sure though.

Yeah, the GB price is very low. Total fees combined for Potter is like 10% which is included in the price. Also PVD for large items tend to be much harder and way more expensive. Learned this hard way from the think6.5 GB. And without PVD the brass will look like crap very quickly.

ePBT sounds interesting, I copped the basic set. Hopefully there is an improvement on the texture. I am not a fan of the grainy texture on the PBT set I'm currently using.

Agree with you on many PBT sets which tend to have a much lower quality than GMK. ePBT seems to be improving - some large modifiers and the space key continue to have lingering issues but I can probably live with it if they don't keep increasing price.

If CNC machining is finished the first week of June, then give each color a week to finish processing, it will be 7-8 weeks, so we are probably looking at late July. I will closely monitor the progress.

Yeah, based on the think6.5 blue, it is definitely not a bright blue.
But there might still be a gray-blue coming. If gray-blue turns out nicely, I would want gray-blue color to be in Think6.5v2 group buy actually

First posted blue color really looks great to be honest, if there is a side by side photos between the two that would be great. Not really digging the look of the blue-gray right with that image.

Thanks for the comparison, I definitely prefer the first shown blue for the Ocean, namewise it's the color the comes to my mind when I hear Ocean. I think this is more leaning towards a muted blue, and under certain lighting conditions its going to look Klippe R1 Gray. But that's just me, I'm not going to deny too that I've ordered extra gold badges (lead and back) for my Ocean which I doubt would pair well with this muted blue color + blue samurai. Thanks for all the hard work on this GB :thumb:

This was during the GB phase so naturally I went for the Ocean option based on this info, but this grayish blue isn't actually giving justice to a dark blue ocean colorway. I find it a bit pale and muted as a keyboard case color. I know you guys have been pushing for pairing it with the Nord and Dracula with the Think V2 and yes those are your preference, but to change it in that direction for the Space65 v2 after the GB phase is a bit disappointing. If I may vote I definitely liked the first blue photo that Potter posted and I was legit excited for it, it also looks more premium imho, not with this grayed-out color, shouldn't the robocop be doing that job already. I feel like ocean should be its own thing much like how deep the reds are in the deadpool colorway.

To be honest, I would be fine with both blues (the one in the picture of the CV65 bottom cases and the new gray-blue), but I still prefer the gray-blue as I think it is more versatile when matching different keycap sets.

Ok so I've looked a the previous pages and just saw this. I think this too misleading, you compared the anodized blue to the shiny part of the render. If you you want the blue to match the render, then it's going to be a dark puple blue. See this comparison, I compared the anodized blue to the left end fo the render, of course the left side would look grayish because of the lighting. Now compare it to the right side, you can see the render has a purple tint. [attachimg=1]
this is also the same story for the Deadpool, if they will color match it to the left side of the render, it's going to be a milky red.

bottomline for me is I think the first anodize blue looks really great, matching it to the render would turn it into a purplish blue not grayish blue. Moreover, the render isn't even gray-blue in the first place. It's a bit unfair for us who joined the GB who went for an Ocean because it's stated on the first page that its a Dark Blue and then we get a pale gray blue board.

The thing is you're basing the color on the extreme left of the render, but at the same time I can't fault you for it given that we are only shown 1 angle for the render. Still I don't believe a grayish pastel blue is the one intended for the GB. Heck there's even a spreadsheet image attached on the GB page saying its an Anodized Dark Blue. It shouldn't be pastel blue-gray. You can't fault us as well for asking for a Dark Blue because it's stated in the page.

bottomline for me is I think the first anodize blue looks really great, matching it to the render would turn it into a purplish blue not grayish blue. Moreover, the render isn't even gray-blue in the first place. It's a bit unfair for us who joined the GB who went for an Ocean because it's stated on the first page that its a Dark Blue and then we get a pale gray blue board.
If the chosen blue is a shiny one, it would be unfair for us who joined the GB and chose Ocean because of the render.
The thing is you're basing the color on the extreme left of the render, but at the same time I can't fault you for it given that we are only shown 1 angle for the render. Still I don't believe a grayish pastel blue is the one intended for the GB. Heck there's even a spreadsheet image attached on the GB page saying its an Anodized Dark Blue. It shouldn't be pastel blue-gray. You can't fault us as well for asking for a Dark Blue because it's stated in the page.

Blue has many shades and the render is rarely accurate to be fair especially under different lighting condition. Even the pictures I shared earlier are the same color not different ones, just under different lighting. Many liked gray-ish blue so that should be the color as I talked to Potter. When the initial blue came out many said they did not like it and would really want a gray-ish blue so Potter paid extra to make the grayish one. There is no way to please everyone, so a decision needs to be made.

Renders are not meant to be 100% accurate representations of a product. They're tools to help you visualize what an item could be. This has been the case since the beginning of this hobby. Complaining about renders before you have a product. Asking to cancel. 4 post history. Bruh.

The blue grey looks nice, but its just not for me. If that's what I end up with, that's fine, but its not my preference.
Why not let Ocean Blue buyers choose one of the two colors, since you've already put effort in to getting this blue grey color, it seems easy enough to do a run of each. But I'm no expert.
Hi Oldcat, I'm from the discord group and visting this geekhack thread just to share my opinions on the ocean cw. You guys specifically stated that Ocean was going to be an anodized dark blue.

This was during the GB phase so naturally I went for the Ocean option based on this info, but this grayish blue isn't actually giving justice to a dark blue ocean colorway. I find it a bit pale and muted as a keyboard case color. I know you guys have been pushing for pairing it with the Nord and Dracula with the Think V2 and yes those are your preference, but to change it in that direction for the Space65 v2 after the GB phase is a bit disappointing. If I may vote I definitely liked the first blue photo that Potter posted and I was legit excited for it, it also looks more premium imho, not with this grayed-out color, shouldn't the robocop be doing that job already. I feel like ocean should be its own thing much like how deep the reds are in the deadpool colorway.
I based my purchase off of this post, which also states it will be a dark blue. I personally find the blue stunning in the first picture of the anodizing color testing/matching samples that AIRPOTTER posted recently.

I thought Nord and the Ocean render looked almost the same in color, which is why I included the photo comparison. And they do look very close on my monitor. However, I did just look at the same comparison on my phone, and they are a bit different there.
From getting in to this expensive aluminum and plastic hobby, I'm starting to look at colors more than I used to. And I'm not sure I trust my eyes anymore.

From my understanding in participating in group buys:
The purpose of extras is to have back ups in case there are quality problems with some boards after the seller gets them from the factory. The seller will also usually wait until all the group buy participants have received their boards and no problems are discovered. Although the seller has said there will be extras, there's no guarantee there will be any in the color you want if there are any issues.
I have no clue how this Gray Studio handles their sale of extras, but they will probably announce ahead of time how and when they will do it.

No not really, I still won't know which one I'll receive.
Just some information about how many different colorways exist or if there are any differences in materials (is everything anodized or are some parts e-coated, etc.) is something very basic and nobody will know too much or even which one they will receive.

I believe the idea is that the Schrodinger option is every colorway simultaneously. This phenomenon is only ruined once you open the box, so many ppl are opting to just leave it in their collection unopened.

Personally I'm glad it was shipped via FedEx as I only had to pay 19% VAT, unlike DHL where there's a ~20 Euros fee they take for representing you in customs, on top of VAT.

Theses guys use DHL Express not normal DHL. My GS packaged was picked up on late Sunday and Delivered to my door on Tuesday

Yesterday i soldered my first mechanical keyboard. Everything worked fine and i was very exited to use it as my main keyboard.
Unfortunately this morning my "m" key stopped working. :( First i tought that it was badly soldered, but after checking the solder everything seems fine. (if i test the resistance of the switch pins at the back of the PCB with a multimeter i get correct readings when pushing the switch)
I also reflashed the keyboard multiple times without success.

I just tried resoldering the switch and it started working. I din't even had to replace it. Maybe there was not enough solder in the hole?
PS: I think this keyboard matches perfectly with my desktop. ;D

As many people have been asking about the material and the surface treatment for the L-shaped badge.
My intention is to make it brass, and PVD black all across, as black PVD has proven to look great in prior GBs.
With that being said, I will consider open-sourcing the L-shaped part model after GB, so you will be able to make your own with other materials.
Hello! Back in April, you were considering open sourcing the L shaped part model. Is it still something you are thinking about? I'd love to be able to find a way to make mine with a similar looking color to my accent (A-pink/A-gold). The open sourced part model, would help :)

I don’t think it’s worth worrying about in the sense that your board will still function without it but if it was me, I’d still reach out to Gray Studio for a replacement for it. I’ve seen a few people with things missing from their order and they’ve gotten replies saying a replacement is on the way. It’s a $300+ keyboard. Get what you paid for!
Quick question for you: is battery spelled correctly in the slot or does it say BATTER? I thought I saw a photo of the misspelling but I could’ve been hallucinating.

Your second one likely has it inside the metal case, not in the top foam.
My schrodinger had it in the case itself but my white gold had it in the top of the case. Please check there.

The EVA-01 is my favorite purple ano I've seen, really nice and saturated. Same goes for the green and red tag bits.
Canoe Gen2 EVA-01's purple has a similar hue but is more faded.
And those Schrödingers!!
Rose-oCop is begging for Olivia, and SoyaGold is gonna go great with so many things.
To top it off all the packaging and instructions are nice and tidy and I totally forgot about the tweezers and screwdrivers, works with heads from my other kit.
These are really cute little boards and I can't wait to tinker with them this weekend.

Used recolored gateron blacks in the EVA-01 case and cherry red mx zilents in the Schrödinger with C³Equalz stabs.

Swapped in red badges for GMK Darling instead of doing another Olivia build.
Hard to get with my terrible lights but the Schrödinger is less rosegold and more pink.

Yes, i have experience the same problem. No Vibration pad in the box. Already contact GrayStudio, takes around a week for them to respond. Said they will ship the vibration pad. But, no shipping advice yet.I wouldn't worry. I contacted them for an order mistake, and they said they would ship it. I didn't get any sort of tracking but a few weeks later it arrived at my door. If you're concerned, maybe try to push them and ask if they shipped it out or for a tracking number if they have one.

FN keys don't typically show up on key testers.Try mapping it to an alpha or something to see if it works.
