Thanks for taking the time to reply to me (and everyone else)! Based off the feedback, hopefully it does gain enough traction to have a matching deskpad. H Y P E.

1.25 Blanks please

Also, I would personally not join if "Control" legends are there, "Ctrl" is more elegant, "Control" always looks awkward on 1.25 keycaps and 1.75 stepped keycap (I use the 1.75 Stepped "Ctrl")

Awesome keyset in general, you can count me in if you change your mind about the "Control" :)

Are you only concerned about the R4 Control keys, or the R3 as well? I personally prefer the full word and think it fits the set better but if there's a general opinion that Ctrl is better then people can speak up and I'll go with the vote.

Everyone has their opinion and tastes, and almost everyone is very religious about their opinions

But objectively speaking, the 1.25U area is very low, GMK legends are left-aligned, and there's beauty in that, if the legends for center-aligned for example, I think we would all agree that it wouldn't look as good, now comes why I don't like "Control" on 1.25 areas, because it spans almost the entire area, and the "Control" legend looks as if it was mis-properly center-aligned, rather than an elegantly and beautiful left-aligned legend

Since I don't use the R4 "Control", my problem is more with the R3 1.75U Stepped "Control" - the stepped area is 1.25U, there's a 0.5U gap there, if the R3 1.75U Stepped keycap becomes "Ctrl" - I'll be very happy

You can see a 1.75 Stepped "Ctrl" here: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-livingspeedbump-gmk-mint-dolch <- very elegent looking, simple, un-crowded

(Also 1.25 blanks please)

Sorry my friend, I don't think there's enough demand for 2u shift to warrant adding it.

Thanks for the detailed reasoning, I appreciate it and am always into hearing people get down to the finer points of design. I'm gonna consider it.

Personally liked the spacebar kit more when it included both colors. :(  And no 2U in the spacebar kit if I'm reading right.

Splitting this way makes the 40s kit and the spacebar kit better balanced I think. I've matched the Terminal r2 spacebar and 40s kits which I think work well and aren't too expensive. I think I might add that 2u accent colour spacebar to the spacebar kit though.

I think this might be it for kits tbh. I'd like to add Colevrak but it seems like a futile endeavour, no-one has asked for Ergodox yet, and I'm leaning towards just doing a couple of 'novelties' which will be in base kit. So, pretty streamlined I reckon. Glad you like it, and if you get it I look forward to seeing some nice pics.  :)

The price of that 40s kit to get the base color spacebar was a reason that I ended up skipping terminal.  I didn't like the accent colors for the space after consideration, and the 40s kit is just too expensive to get two of them.  But thanks for considering in any case.

Sorry, forgot to reply to this. I don't wanna share just yet. I'm still settling on details and figuring out the best way to go about it all. Will update as soon as I have anything firm. Just to be totally clear, the colour reference is this:

No plans for ergodox so far. I'm not confident it'd hit MOQ tbh.

I'd say they're a very blue purple. Go by the Gameboy, not my kit renders.

Are there any plan of spliting up the base kit into numpad kit and non-numpad base kit?
Since I have got lots of numpad key unused at home which feel a kind of waste.

Btw, I am a fan of 40%~60%, which may not be the majority?

I've chatted about this in the past on discord because I wondered why it's never been done (to my knowledge) with GMK sets. It was a surprisingly unpopular idea. I can see both sides of the argument, but I personally like having it in the base kit.

Can you test pink/accent color for mods legend? Will give a good contrast to blue on alphas. Just a suggestion.

This set is really growing on me, I love the accent color. Any possibility of adding alternate function keys and arrow keys in accent colors? It will be great if mods in accent colors can be added as separate kit. Apologize if it feels like spamming and asking too much.

Great news! I've been in contact with Uniqey/GMK and they've confirmed that I can just send them a Gameboy for them to match the colours to. This will ensure the best colour accuracy and was my biggest hope from the start so I'm really happy they're able to do it and are up for it. The representative I spoke with seemed genuinely enthusiastic about it and thinks it's gonna be a fun project. All I have to do now is find the closest thing to a NIB Gameboy I can, (mine is good but I think probably very slightly yellowed), without spending insane amounts on ebay.

Maybe this one? https://tinyurl.com/y8k4ypf2

I might be a bit naive, but have you tried contacting Nintendo to ask for color codes ?

I don't think this would have much chances to succeed, but if it allows you to not spend 4k$ on a gameboy...

Or will you?? We could do a groupbuy for a 4k Gameboy, you send it to GMK and then after color matching sell it again and pay back the GB participents.. just make sure to not buy a sealed one..
Just kidding, funny thought, tho.

Good point. The color is pretty bold - what about legends only(if that is even a thing?) Might be a subtle enough.

I'd actually like to see an optional arrows pack the same color as the Gameboy's d-pad.

Same. Although it would look better with a Maxkey style arrow legend.

It may look stupid, but I'm also thinking about a black cross in the numpad.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

That's what I was thinking too. And maybe some Select and Start novelties too
