I would think so, I am paying $1 per switch and I expect it to be a decent linear at least.

Unlucky

Lol.

Huey compared the stems to the original for 1 reason....to show these aren't exact copies. If you noticed from that point forward, the stems weren't used for anything more than that.

If you're buying these to use them in stock form, there's about 20 other options that are cheaper/better for you.

You obviously watched a bit of the video, I'm not sure how came to the conclusion that these should be great, stock linears.

Don't act like a primma donna, we all know why people want these switches. If you want a good linear, buy Tealio/Healio, retooled/vintage black, or the best of them all, green ALPS.

If it was used for its original intention, nobody would ever heard of Panda switch.

Great to see this come to fruition, albeit at quite a price premium. Would be cool to see a run of just housings as that's all it will ever be used for. I'll probably be in one 1 board worth. :thumb:

Gateron Yellow KS-8 Series at $0.20 still best bang for buck linear. Tealios are great if you want to spend some for smoothness.

How many switches sold SuperVan and when the GB ends?

Looks like already over 10k sold based on the spreadsheet Supervan shared

You're asking a reasonable question but truly there really is only one (honest) answer you're ever gonna get. Do you want people to save their pennies and potentially (or not) buy next round or would you rather them buy in now and then maybe even buy some more during R2, 3, 4 if they like what they received and/or have more money?

This is meant as no disrespect to SuperVan, it's also not to say there will surely be future rounds, I'm just saying it's not a very productive question to ask.

Was selling the housing, leaf and/or spring only ever an option? I mean, what's the point of making the stem and putting it together? It saves us the time to disassemble it. Just asking.

What I find most fascinating about all this rollercoaster-switch-thriller story is that neither Invyr not mech27 ever said anything on this matter, not a single fuking word. (Well, except the initial statement that it's impossible to produce new switches.) It's thought-provoking stuff. I bet all three of these guys from the Panda story know a lot more than they were really ready to say. And we may never know what really happened.

At least Jesus does.

considering the majority of the switch cost in the original GB went to making the molds, i think it's safe to assume that pricing will be very reasonable

Stock market.

But they are probably private-owned, not a joint-stock company, so you can't do anything about it. Just a guess.

27 never posted on GH but he talked about a bit in slack and personally with me

tl;dr the og panda mold does exist, but its broken

dunno what the plan is there

EDIT: the mold is damaged, and is in the process of being repaired

there are more original pandas coming

MD is currently gearing up for production of stock holy pandas. Supposedly they will be available this month.

Massdrop is selling stock holy pandas?
Interesting development

they've been working on it for a few months, this GB has nothing to do with it

and they are using the orignal panda switch molds for it

Puddsy been spreading the same rumor since June.

eat pant

so THIS is why MD refused to sell stems straight to SuperVan and kbdfans, they wanna produce OG pandas themselves! thank you for coming up and confirming this :D

As a matter of fact it’s just a rumor. Don’t think anyone confirmed anything.
We will find out soon if MD is making holy pandas available this month I guess.

On an unrelated side note, where does one buy Stocks in Massdrop?

Stock market.

But they are probably private-owned, not a joint-stock company, so you can't do anything about it. Just a guess.

Doesn't seem like a rumor to me, I trust 27's reputation.

Reputation?? Didnt 27 and Invyr say it was impossible? Seems like they were trying to undermine SuperVan from the start. And now this rumor about Massdrop....haha...all is fair in business i guess.

Well, this kinda answers my original question.

the mold was damaged, but is being fixed by massdrop

i have been told that the damage was not to the actual part where the switches are molded, so the housings will be basically unchanged

So, I guess the reason why original makers didn't fix the mold for such a long time was because Massdrop offered them a lot of money not to repair it, but to instead sell it?

It's not a rumor.

Will see if Massdrop starts a GB of HP this month. Good for the community if MD can mass produce HPs and sell under $1

So far there is no proof I guess until MD starts the GB or make a public announcement
