Men's Fragrances (Men's Cologne)
« on: Thu, 08 September 2022, 16:45:46 »
I have gotten REALLY into mens fragrances over the last 6 months. Just curious if anyone else here is into that community?

My current favorites:
Bleu De Chanel EDP
Aqua Di Gio Profumo
Creed Aventus
Dior Sauvage EDP

I have a few fall/winter samples here and on the way:
Stronger With You Absolutely
Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee
Dior Sauvage Elixir
Spicebomb Extreme
Terre d'Hermes Parfum

I'm one of the 8% who are sensitive to strong smells, and among those a person who could get a migraine from experiencing a strong aromatic smell.
I'm opposed to it. Wearing a fragrance in public is terrorism. Please don't.

Creed is my signature scent, been wearing it for years. Always get a compliment at least once a day when I put it on.
But lately I switched to Armaf Club De Nuit Intense because it's about $300 cheaper than Creed, and smells fairly close.

Kiton For Men is also really amazing, I love sandlewoody mossy woody citrus scents

Aventus is so good. I keep a 30ml decant of Aventus but have a bottle of the CDNIM Limited Edition. If you haven't, check the limited edition out. I really really like it.

I save the Aventus for special occasions. They smell so close that it is insane. I do like the patchouli in the Aventus better. For the price, I can not gripe about the CDNIM Limited Edition though.

For whom .... ?

It's just a very clean and amiable scent that most people will enjoy, and tons of guys wear it so I don't think it's special.

Aqua Di Gio Profumo is amazing. It adds notes of incense. It makes it a lot more weasel in the fall and winter.

I tried the notorious Dior Sausage Elixir yesterday. Not a bad choice. Has more of a vintage/mature vibe then some other stuff I am used to.

Polo Black is so good. That mango note in the opening is one of the best. I wore it a ton about 7 months ago. I need to revisit it.

A former girl I was pursuing (and then seeing) put me onto Unforgivable eons ago. While it doesn't have crazy lasting time, I've gotten plenty of compliments over the years with it. It's a nice scent, and a good change from the general popular scents.

Check out Month Blanc Explorer also. It is close to Aventus.

I've always liked a sweeter, fruity scent.

My sweat doesn't mix well with stronger-smelling colognes.

Here are my usual go tos

Clinique Happy for Men
Versace Eau Fraiche
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is one of the greatest smelling scents of all time. I wish they would come out with an Eau De Parfum or Parfum version.

I am wearing Versace Dylan Blue today. It is a solid performer and smells good. I would rate the smell a 4/5. Not the greatest scent but most people enjoy it. Great for Spring and Summer.

Today I am wearing Terre d'Hermes Parfum. It is a bright citrusy and woodsy scent. It has a lot of orange on the top. Unlike anything I have smelled before. I like it but I am a blue fanboy at heart.

Performance usually refers to the longevity and the sillage. Longevity is pretty self explanatory. Sillage is basically the scent trail and projection from it.

I try and stick with fragrances that have a decent amount of both without being too much. I work in an office environment so I do not want to be the annoying buy but I also have a lot of meetings in the public so I want to smell good.

Todays Fragrance: Good ole Dior Sausage EDT. It is brighter than the EDP and Parfum versions. Beast performance. I usually can still smell it when I get home at the end of the day.

Wearing the amazing Dior Sausage EDP today. I have a bottle from 2020 and then a decant from 2022. The 2020 is not as sweet as the 2022 so I do 2 sprays of each.

Just picked up some Amber Musk and Egyptian Musk from a local Indian shop. That Amber Musk smells amazing! Sweet, smooth, and soft with just a slight hint of spices.

It can be a bit expensive but check out Bleu De Chanel EDP or Parfum. It smells fresh and inoffensive. It projects decently the first 2 hours but then dies down.

Someone gifted me a bottle of Creed Green Irish Tweed. It is for sure the most expensive bottle that I own. It smells really fresh but it is more suited for Spring and Summer. I can not wait to try it out!

Drakkar Noir because I'm a legend.

Actually YSL has been my daily. I've tried some of the Creed line but it doesn't seem like anything special to me. It's more like a status thing.

I have abandoned meals in restaurants when someone came in wearing a scent that bordered on chemical warfare.  I could taste the reek in my food.

I've occasionally been trapped in an elevator with one of those people.  It's a small miracle one of us didn't leave in a body bag.

Cologne isn't a thing in my area any more, but for a while there, I was seriously thinking about carrying a can of pepper spray to give them an idea of how they stank.
