Please consider Daily Clack as Oceania vendor :)

Check the vendors in the first post. Daily Clack will be the vendor for Umka in Australia and Oceania.  :thumb:

Kind of disappointed that this one was prioritized over Sixes. One base kit running instead of 8 kits for more board coverage seems like this set could use more work imo.

Is GMK Nines the same color as GMK Carbon?

No. Neither Nines nor Sixes use the same color as GMK Carbon. Both sets are based on Carbon, but use GMK stock colors

I mean, Sixes is running in June. It even has its own IC thread where you can share effusive comments for its kitting.

Recent owner of R2 Boneyard and Umka mods, adore the set. Would love to see an R2 / V2 of your salty kit, maybe with some old and new colors, could even do a stand alone buy maybe. Good luck, cheers! :thumb:
I second this! Need more salt novelties in different colors.

No. That's GMK Sixes. It's similar, though.

The simplicity of this set works for me. Traditional profile (1-1-2-3-4-4) also works for me, but I'm not a fan of f-row and can make my peace with 1-2-3-4-5. Either way, not sure my vote matters: T0mb3ry makes the final decision. FWIW, Trad is losing 20/80 as of this morning.

Also not a R0 fan, sold my Umka mods from R2 because of this.  Hoping this stays traditional 1-1-2-3-4-4

I'll keep the traditional rows for this project due to the lower costs. I want to keep it affordable. Full rows will definitely be more expensive from my experience (more plastic and the og rows will require at least 5 additional keys).

I'd like to thank people for voting anyway. The result speaks for it self. I'll definitely consider it in the next possible project (which i did not done with full cherry rows before - in case of a rerun).

Sad!

Wanna see Umka in Cherry 1-1-2-3-4-5 but unfortunately not this time.

GLWGB, I will think about this set because I am interested in Sixies too.

Only thing that is stopping me from buying this is the long lead times of GMK  :( I feel very weird knowing that I will be approximately 5% older by the time the keyset arrives

I love beige sets, but isn't this basically GMK Sixes? :|
Very similar to GMK Sixes. This is a bit more yellow and sixes is a bit more olive, but still practically identical

Nice, not my style, but nice. If I was in charge of designing a keyboard for the masses, I'd use something like this for the key caps. Something a lot of people will like, and that i can't imagine anyone hating.

Ahem, once again, this set was designed long before GMK Sixies. So it's more correct to say that GMK Sixies is similar to GMK Umka. GMK Umka was singled out separately from the other set it was part of in 2018.

Stop comparing it with GMK Sixies. Hope everybody understands it. Thanks.

I've considered this in the beginning. However at this moment there are not many boards utilizing those spacebars and i have decided not to include those in the base kit.

This set is using custom colors from GMK Carbon. Compared to stock colors. U9 is more like light gray. The custom beige this set is using is more pronounced beige.
The custom gray is lighter than N9.

Thats too bad, would love to see more support for 3u especially since the split 3-1-3 space bars look so good and Sp111 is getting a rerun if I remember correctly

Please help a brother out. It seems this color is a bit elusive and photos range from beige with a slight green/olive tint to creamy white. Which image is a more accurate representation of the color? The image on the left/top is from the OP and the image on the right/bottom is from the (mass)Drop release for GMK Carbon

The color is in between of both. Left picture is obviously dark because i shot it in the shadows. The right one is overexposed a little bit and it appears to look more white. Did i mentioned people should not trust photos? I do it all the time because we have here a good example.

So, I'm primarily an ANSI user nowadays. But just wanted to say I think the ISO support could do with some revision, as it seems to be a "worst of all worlds" approach with the duplicated <> on the ISO key and the <, >. keys. Would be curious what other options might look like!

And i am closing this thread.

There are two types of ISO compats: PC and Terminal. PC has |\ instead of <>. It does not matter which type you choose, you will always have duplicates.
