gnamr2723's projects (just made a bleach shirt)
« on: Sun, 14 May 2017, 00:21:15 »
Heyo, just a little thread about any projects or modifications I am working on.

Finished projects:

The HADwood

Black Mesa bleach shirt

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First Project: Wooden MX HHKB

Let's start things off with hhkb blockers I am making for my mx hhkb. Current state is very ugly -_-
Another problem with this build I'm having is how tight the case is. Whenever I hit backspace, it rubs on the edge. Hopefully a few minutes of concentration and a sharp chisel will fix that.
That is all for now since I have to let the glue dry for a few more days.
I'm pressing some thin wood veneers together in hopes to make a cool layered very similar to how skateboard decks look from the side. Both patterns are exactly the same; they're also symmetrical from top to bottom.

Hopefully a few minutes of concentration and a sharp chisel will fix that.
That doesn't look like that much material to remove, perhaps you can do that with sand paper alone.
BTW, what wood is the case made out of? Maple?
My opensource projects: GH80-3000, TOAD, XMMX. Classified: stuff

It's just such a small spot that trying to run sandpaper there doesn't really do much. It's easier (for me at least) to use a sharp chisel in such a circumstance.
The wood is bamboo which makes it pretty easy to plane away too.

That bamboo case looks very nice. Did you make it yourself?

Got it from /u/lxkhn on reddit. His 60% cases are awesome.

Fixed up the inside edge of the case so keycaps no longer hit them when pressed.

I also took the wood out of the mold and started to smooth it down. Looking good so far, although I didn't add enough plies, so It won't be as wide as I had hoped. Maybe I can fill the gaps with some scraps...

It's maybe a 1/8th inch gap.

Alright, another update. I'm getting very close on the first blocker; I just have to knock down the height a little and we are golden. Also, anyone have any ideas what to do with the little gap between the north part of the blocker and right shift/function?

Finally finished what I'm calling, the HADwood (because it sounds like 'hard wood' said in a Boston accent, and the HAD obviously signifies the keycap layout)

Did you design the PCBs yourself?

Today I made a Black Mesa bleach shirt! I didn't realize until now, but the colors even match geekhack  :))

Thinking about doing some more, but not sure what logos/designs I might like...

The shirt looks good. I can't do something like it because chlorine isn't sold over here any more.

It is very easy to make explosives or drugs out of Chlorine and the gas it emits. I would love to start a project like that! What method did you use to create such a defined shape with the bleach?
Ive got myself a beefy boi

-Alf F62PE

-GMK KA1953 "OG Classic Retro"

Ahh I can see why it would be hard to get Chlorine bleach then.

The bleach shirts reddit is where I found out about making t-shirts like this! This guide specifically is what I followed and it worked out great for me!
