i've got no idea who made these doubleshots but i've got about 18 really beautifully yellowed Alps blanks:

Show Image

What a waste of machine time. Only possible reason, would be that there was no mold for a single unit key cap. The stem was in the inner section; while the top was in the outer one. There was a need  for a no-legend key for some application. Result: A summa cum laude on inefficiency, a blank double shot.

not if the rest of their molding was done in this way with the legend molded to the darker underside piece and the skirt doubleshot around it.

There is no other way to make double shots. However, GMK has molds for single unit, one-shot blank key caps, just quote a set. Or, if you insist in double-shot ones, check if they are available and see GMK's rep reaction, she would be confused, with the strange request.

you're absolutely right - info added to OP and posted below:

LAYOUT IDEA- Thank you xondat

This would cover moooooost (moist) 60-TKL and a handful of 40% too. The pink caps are the TKL caps and xondat and I were discussing whether this should be a TKL set or a 60/65% set. ISO is also negotiable. Thoughts?

Lacking TKL support would be a travesty and you should be ashamed for considering it.

9009, Dolch, Classic beige or all N9

Considering there would be no pad print, I agree. I'd usually not care for it because of the pad print.

R5 for sure.

OK I guess I'll just get a quote on a single colored set and then maybe 9009ish with everything (i'll check on windowd stepped caps too you ****ing freaks) -- I'll submit in the next week or so and we'll see how committed to this meme we really are.

i like the first layout, but the second (9009) colour. all pastel pink is a bit much imo

also what's with the two stepped caps locks? different stem locations?

I dont know if this is something doable in this group buy but is it possible to get just a set of 1.75 shift blanks made? in bunch of common colors? for us 65/75% crowd that can't always match up sets we want with layouts we have? Blank caps obviously

Also I most likely be down for a set of these! There another nice positive about a cheap set of GMK. It gives people a chance to try out the quality and gives people a set of caps they can use as fill ins while there waiting to get the caps they want for the board they just built.  Personally I am kinda on the fence about GMK cause of the price 180 for some of the sets I seen its like are they really that amazing do they hold up that well..

As far as colors go would it be possible to do a carbon color way? Carbon Black Alpha with like Orange/red orange modifiers?

The 9009's colors would have better chance to reach MoQ. They match available beige sets.

Not interested anymore if this isn't for full size keyboards. Can we get a quote from gmk before removing keycaps? Adding many space-bars in the main set isn't probably the greatest of ideas since they cost about 2 USD each.

Also remember that with blank sets the MOQ is 75 units.

Just run it all in WS1. Or in red.

There are enough beige sets floating around, I don't think we need any more.

WS1 is so wild. there are plenty of attempts at red out there and i'm not personally a big fan of red except for accepts. i feel you on the beige glut but it sells.
its a huge bummer that there's not a good cherry blossom pink in GMK's colors yet.

Not interested anymore if this isn't for full size keyboards. Can we get a quote from gmk before removing keycaps? Adding many space-bars in the main set isn't probably the greatest of ideas since they cost about 2 USD each.

yes the additional enters and spaces are to cover 9009 colors, but i may remove some options there. Numpad's a possibility but if i'm cutting anything out at this point it's unlikely i'd add anything back in. plus, plenty of GMK sets out there exist to fill a 104ish layout, but without support for alternate 60/65 so a big goal of this set is to focus on underserved layouts.

The 9009's colors would have better chance to reach MoQ. They match available beige sets.

yeah agreed. not my dream set but i think it'd still look pretty sweet!

I’m in one way or another (most likely), but with 9009 about to run again, it feels a bit redundant. I like the idea of red, but it’s also a hard colour to match things up with.

Just gonna throw this out there.... what about white alphas and pink mods?

ok without going dolch, i think this layout/extras ought to make plenty of people happy. you're basically getting beige plus 9009 addon. i'll be submitting a quote request for this in the next day or so and post as soon as there are more updates.
