The legends aren't 100% centered on the cap but it will be definitely fixed.

Looking excellent! MT3 is really nice to use. After using my MT3 Serika, I unfortunately have concluded that I prefer lower profile keys but if if you like high profiles and haven't tried MT3 I say give it a go! :)

I just want to say, MT3 Godspeed and MT3 /dev/tty did it right. MT3 Serika did not. The ortho bottom row should be R5, not R4. Please follow the good examples instead. Sales numbers on these kits reflected that.I’m so glad they added R5 to MT3, surprised it’s not used here.
I really like the icons, it would be amazing to have these in R5 for a macro pad.

But as I mentioned briefly on biip’s Discord server, I'd really want to vouch my support for katakana alphas, if at all possible. I understand biip’s dislike for dual legends in sculpted profiles, but even having only katakana legends (with no regular letters, that is, single legends, KAT Milkshake style) would be more than fine.
At the same time, if katakana legends were to happen, I'd kindly ask for trying a different font than on the original ePBT Extended 2048 set. While it certainly was aesthetically pleasing (as anything that touches biip’s hands!), it seemed to be sometimes quite far from how the kanas should correctly look like.

This kind of annoys me because they definitely weren't. I hadn't seen him comment on this before. I assumed they were convex because they were listed as spacebars, but they are clearly not labeled with C, and I thought it was my fault for not paying attention.
If the community calls something a spacebar it really better be convex. Otherwise label it as a blank. I'm not buying any more 40s or spacebar kits without clearly marked convex keycaps. It's not that hard.

Awesome, love seeing this in mt3! Two suggestions though: space bar kit with a second B and R5 bottom row Option like /dev/tty
B will be added in the spacebars kit and the spacebars will be convex.

I just noticed that there are R1 End and PgDn in the mods kit. These can be removed as you wouldn't really see these keys used on 75% boards, and for them to be used on 1800/CP/96-key layouts, they would need to be R0 and accompanied by a numpad (both of which are already covered by the numpad kit). So these two keys are a surplus.

My pleasure! Another minor thing: the pipe on the regular \| keys seems to be the only symbol that isn't italicized. Compared to, say, the pipe on the |§ key in the intl kit, which is. Is this by design, or are you going to make the regular pipe italic as well, to give it a bit more contrast compared to \ (atm it's like \| — they both look sort of straight).

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit of research on the AEKII, and you're quite right! The Japanese version of the Apple Extended Keyboard II specifically used an unusual ANSI-style layout like the one you have. Here is an image for anyone else who is interested: http://www.mac-s.co.jp/images/useditem/513/0310231-4b.jpg.
Other Apple keyboards from a similar period used something closer to the modern Japanese Mac layout; here is the Apple Keyboard II, for example (not extended): http://www.mac-s.co.jp/images/useditem/513/0310231-1c.jpg. It includes all four of the keys I mentioned.
Anyway, I concede the point; since you are paying homage to a specific model of Apple keyboard and not to Apple design and iconography in general, supporting only the layout that that keyboard did is not unreasonable. It would be nice to have the flexibility to support more modern layouts as well if adding the extra keys does not cost too much, but I at least understand the argument behind not doing so for this particular set now. I'd like to weigh in on this issue. I'll be using standard row numbering (R1 = number row) like you guys did.
In this case, adding a R1 1u ー wouldn't help since some of the other characters would be in the wrong position. That's because, as you said, this kit is based on Apple's ANSI JP layout. You would have to add all of the following keys to make it compatible with JIS (see this link (https://imgur.com/a/Y2rvl1s) for a visual comparison of the layouts):
- R1 1u ー
- R1 1u ヘ
- R2 1u ゜
- R3 1u ム (different from the one in ISO UK)
- R4 1u ロ
But adding just ー on its own won't help.
However, there is another issue with the current katakana kit: the Japanese AEKII layout doesn't have a kana legend on the `~ key. This makes the inclusion of a R1 ロ key inaccurate. At the moment, the kit is essentially a hybrid between the Apple ANSI JP layout and the standard ANSI JP layout. But removing this key would leave users without a much-needed top-left R1 key.
I have a different suggestion, which solves the above issues and covers all of the use cases, including JIS, but requires changing the katakana kit from the Apple layout to the standard one. Now, I know that doesn't sound like it would make sense at first (seeing as this whole set is inspired by Apple keyboards), but hear me out — you are already using non-Apple layouts everywhere else in the kit. The UK keys, the international keys, even some of the modifiers: all use standard positions rather than Apple's. So this option may be worth considering.
If you change the katakana kit to match this layout (https://imgur.com/Me3Qwk1) (see my visual guide (https://imgur.com/FvRvypy)), you can fully cover ISO and JIS with just three extra keys on top of the ANSI keys in the kit:
- R3 ム
- R4 ロ
- R1 ー
If you stay with the Apple layout, I'm afraid adding JIS support is more complicated (see the first list) and might not be worth doing at all.
In case you decide to stay with the AEKII layout, I recommend changing the R4 ロ key in the current ISO UK kit to R4 ー, otherwise ISO users are going to have a duplicate ロ legend on the `~ and <> keys :)

You posted that picture earlier as well, saying that /dev/tty added support for the keys you were asking for. How is it showing me that I get my choices? I get them if I go purchase /dev/tty?
I'm not implying you "scavenge random legends". You never even mentioned WHAT legends you want. Just that you want 2x1.5 and 2x1.25u r5. So presumably they can be whatever? The mods kit and nomad kits have 1.25 r5 mods of every type. You literally have your pick, if you choose to spend the money, of whatever coverage you want in r5. As do I. The ergo kit is missing some r1 mods that I need, but I'm not asking for those, because the other mods are more important. Those can only be added to ergo, and I can get those 1u mods in nomad if I choose.
1.5 r4 enter does not exist, nor does it make sense, in any other kit. If it did, I could just buy that kit if legend accuracy was important to me. Same goes for ANY 1.5u r1 or R3. If /dev/tty offers these as options, there must be other ergo users that can benefit from them. The only place for me to request these keys is in this kit. There is effectively zero chance for them to be included in any other kit.
If ext 2048 ergo has the same coverage as /dev/tty ergo mods, there is nothing more I could personally want, and any ergo users happy with that kit would be happy here. If other ergo users need different modifiers, I would prioritize the 1.5u mods in r1-r4 before adding anything else.
I'm done trying to make this case.

I would like along with what you wanted as a discussion starter with the designer of this set on how to cater to ergo users. The designer can either use that same template or come up with something unique.
We both had feedback, and we could have had a conversation with the designer instead of YOU deciding how he/she should do it. If you want to make the decisions, run your own set. Until then, don't try to stop others from providing feedback. The decision will be the set designers to make.

There is a generic-looking R4 1u Fn/Code key in Modifiers, as well as a second one in Nomad, why not use that?

I use the HHKB layout but instead of the 1u Fn key next to the RShift, I prefer to use that as a Ctrl key. There are definitely keys I could use instead, and there are matching >_ keys I could use in place of the Ctrl keys, but it wouldn't be perfect :(

I told that you shouldn't mind about the tones of the grayscale pics since the samples are featuring Serika (injected) colors.
Keycaps will feature L9 and BV colors :thumb:

Turns out L9 is the yellowish tinted color & I'm pretty bummed out. But it seems like you're set & you can't accommodate everyone. Just give me a mention if you do another IC in WS1/2, because they'd be perfect. GLWS.

Without getting into politics, they officially announced they miscommunicated the materials used in Holy Panda switch housings which were advertised to be POM. It would be easy to design, but for production, you'd be producing an entirely different product. You have to change the plastic resin to produce the keys in a different color, and then run them through the same dyesub process as well. It's far from an easy addition.

I was hoping that KAT ergo kit guidelines (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=105714.0) to include 2 convex 2u spacebars would apply here. But looking at kits posted on the first page it seems we have just 2x concave (which follow the profile of numpad-enter and should never be used for horizontal spacebar purposes either way). Worse than that I don't even see any additional kit that would have 2x 2u concave. Do we really need to get Ergo + Nomad + Spacebars to equip such keyboard? :'( That would be very unfortunate.
Is there anything we can do about it?

The prototype featured another color scheme that's why I displayed it in grayscale though.

About time that the AZERTY layout get some love. Think you can do a Baguette kit like you did for a previous set ?
Azerty seems to be in the intl kit.
I am in for this one and lot of extras. I think it will be a first for iso fr in MT3!

The Nomad and Accent Nomad kits lack legend support for staggered 40% boards that have symmetrical bottoms rows. Examples include the TMO50/Nightmare, TMO50v2, Adélie, Prime_E, Cajal, Phoenix 45, etc. The Nomad kit is lacking a second 1.5u Alt, second 1u OS, second 1.25u OS, and a second 1.25u Ctrl. A 1.25u R3 Ctrl would be nice too, like GMK Serika R2. The Nomad Accents kit could use a second 1.25u Ctrl and OS, a second 1.5u Alt, and a second 1u OS (and the aforementioned R3 1.25u Ctrl). This is all assuming the Nomad kits are meant to be used without the corresponding mods kits.Definitely agree they need to offer the 1.25/1.5/etc space bars in pairs.

Yeah i already saw that AZERTY is supported, what i asked is a kit with only the FR keys in it, like biip did for Milkshake.

I closed out the page and I can't find the person I was replying too, but there are 6 ABS Doubleshot MT3 sets on Drop right now. There are also a couple more kits that aren't on sale right now. I would call it market saturation, though I am not complaining.If Drop would include R5 in their “stock” kits, I’d be down for all of these ABS kits!
