paging DR. Hoof.

If I'm remembering right he got both a new job and a new living situation within the past month, so I'm sure that's what attributing to the delays.

This is correct.  I'm currently living out of boxes right now.  I would love to get this taken care of ASAP, but don't think I can accurately provide a timing estimate right now.  :|

All the original people in the gb abandoned it, so some other members have taken on completing it

It's a logistical nightmare how it was left so many people are trying to piece it together

Right.  This buy grew way too big, and all of the original people who launched it dropped out for one reason or another.  And so there was a dead group buy and a whole bunch of material (PCBs, plates, switches, etc.) sitting in garages.  Then a completely separate bunch of volunteers agreed to salvage the GB by sorting and shipping all the material through a series of proxies in the hopes of getting as many participants something for their initial investments.

Normally when a group buy dies mid-stream, everybody loses their investment, but in THIS case, several of us are trying to prevent that.

So the "Salvage Mode" in the thread title represents that volunteer effort to avoid a complete loss.

To the degree that makes sense, it also explains the pace, as zero of the people working on this now had any part in the original group buy, and are mostly losing money by helping salvage this thing.

No problem at all good sir, I unpacked all the parts I have here and have them sorted and ready

For everyone I'm shipping orders to (basically every non conus order) what I will have people do is fill out a support request on ctrl alt, please don't do this now I will announce when, but what that'll mean is I have an open line of communication with everyone who has an order, that will keep the conversation both together and in order, where I can also update statuses, tracking info and whatnot

Once you're ready and post an announcement, can you include some (short) instructions on the URL, where to get an account and how to correctly contact you there?

I seem to remember something about a post when that site was introduced but I've never used or seen it.

Thank you for the great explanation. This whole time I thought a new version of the GH60 came out with a new mode called the "Salvage Mode". I hope everything works out for everyone in the GB!

Good news, everyone!

While prepping the UK shipment I discovered The Lost Little Bags of Switches with Names On!

After I get the UK boxes out to BunnyLake, I'll post the list of users and get addresses for to send them out.

And all the European (non-DIY) parts are shipped to BunnyLake.  USPS International Priority Mail with tracking.

Four small but heavy boxes turned out to be the best way to ship 60% plates.

Next-tier proxies:

I am now down to the dregs of the GH60 parts.  All the non-DIY stuff has been shipped out, and I am cleaning out the boxes and bins that are left.  And as you know, there was never a solid inventory of what, exactly, was shipped to me.

So, if you are missing parts for user shipments, please let me know and I will check the piles of things I have left.  I have assorted plates, some PCBs, and several small bags of random switches.

Good luck on your efforts to send the parts on their way to the final destinations, and please remember to check with me about any items you are missing.

 - Ron | samwisekoi

p.s.  Please use e-mail for your requests so I don't miss them on GH.

p.p.s.  This was not an invitation for non-proxies to ask for extras.  Just sayin'...

You know the horror films where the zombie/alien/anti-hero continues to be shot, exploded, burned in fire, and still keeps walking while the hero says "die you bastid, die!"?  This is that Group Buy.  It keeps taking shots and losing workers, but it keeps standing up and staggering/crawling towards the goal.

We SHALL make the goal!

ok non conus folks

the stuff from america should be with me any day now

could everyone, regardless of whether we have been in communication before or not

please fill out a support request on ctrlalt.io

you can do so by logging in and going here

https://ctrlalt.io/account/help/requests/new

for the subject, please title it GH60

for the body of the message

please include in this order

NAME AND ADDRESS (with phone number)

CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS (just in case iu need to contact you and you arent responding in support)

A VERY CLEAR DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU ORDERED

PREFERABLY A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR ORIGINAL INVOICE

for anyone who required their gh60 to be built, i will be providing building services, this will be charged at $25 per board, you can take this option regardless of whether you initially ordered it or not, i have just added this figure as a barrier to entry to stop everyone doing it, but the service is there for anyone who needs it, itll be a fixed price no matter what the job including switch modding etc, as long as all supplies are either on hand or provided

if you would like me to build your board, please also state this in your original support request, with a detailed description of what you would like done, layout, parts etc

if you provide me with a hex file of the layout you want, i will put that on for you, if you do not, ill put a generic one on to fully test the board for you

as for time on this, i feel comfortable doing 3 a night, and would like to cap this service at 40 boards total so this doesnt drag out more than 2 weeks

they will be built on a first come first serve basis, apart from people who originally ordered soldering services with their order, anybody who originally paid for that i will also allow in after the 40 board cap as i expect this number to be low

all money taken from building services will be donated to the hospital who will be performing my sons operation later next year

i will also pack standard orders on a first come first serve basis based on the order i receive the support requests

that being said this should be a very quick turnaround for everyone who follows the instructions above

please also note some additional shipping fees will need to be collected as with american orders, and i will include any relevent details about this once i contact you back via the support for

once you have made a support ticket, you can update it at any time, and i would prefer if all ocmmunication with myself be kept there, so things are kept both together and in order, i will also give out the tracking numbers via the support tickets, and at that time close the ticket, once the board has shipped, please then feel free to contact me either via this thread or via pm

thanks

How am I supposed to remember my order from over 3 years ago when the Order Confirmations Google doc is down?

Edit: Nevermind, I luckily still have the invoice email from TJcaustin from over 3 years ago. Without the link in that email, I wouldn't have the chance of accessing it online on Paypal as it only goes back in history 3 years.

Edit2: Oh, and I totally forgot: This is really nice news and I'd like to thank everyone involved who stood by this GB and still made it happen so far. I'll be finally at peace when this thing arrives. Your work and effort is really appreciated!

Thanks BunnyLake. This is great news!

Does anyone still have access to the original google doc? I have the PayPal invoice in my email, but it doesn't say which switches I ordered. Just the amount of switches.

Is there even a chance of getting switches (green in my case)? And will I get the plate I ordered (SamwiseKoi), or whatever is on hand? What's the best way to send a screenshot? So many questions, but I'm grateful for the light at the end of the tunnel for some people.

Ugh, I can't wait until the GH60 PCB arrives. My Soarer-modded Poker has been acting up a lot lately, going into never-ending key repeats or endless sleep.

Made a support request on CtrlAlt.Io and waiting desperately for updates.

Can confirm packages have arrived, we are short a good amount of stabs and a few plates but we will deal with that as it happens, honestly I think we have more than enough for everyone still actively waiting and we will just cross the bridge of missing stuff as and when it happens

Doesn't look like a whole lot, but a decent amount of progress has been made.  Packed up 13 orders and sent 10 invoices.  Will be back at it tomorrow with some confirmation emails going out and more orders to pack.

I'd be totally fine with it however my pp account doesn't accept gifts sadly

If for any reason you absolutely needed to send funds as a gift I could forward my wife's PayPal
