Thanks to Hoffster all non-EU buyers will be getting a very, very nice price. I estimate the main set will be around $100-110.

EU buyers will still get a nice price considering EU sets will be shipping from the UK, and no import fees will need to be paid. It will be about 20% higher since VAT will have to be paid on EU orders.

Me and Hoff just need to work out proper shipping costs and then this GB will launch. I want to get this started ASAP.

So excited.

What do you think about this beige set with the blue modifiers? Would it look nice?

I think that in reality those set will look much better, since at least from the pictures I've seen, the beige is much more white, and less yellow than the renderings. Maybe I'm wrong :-)

North Wales eh? Hope the shipment doesn't come in through Wrexham or no-one will be getting any keys :3

I believe Photekq and Hoffman are just working out some logistics regarding shipping costs, and then it will be good to go. I would keep checking daily, because it probably won't be long from now! :)

That's totally unnecessary. You won't get your keycaps before a couple of months anyways and the starting point of the group buys is the smallest variable in the chain of events leading to the package finally being dropped in front of your door.

Keep in mind that most group buys are managed in peoples free time and they put next to nothing into their own pockets to make things more affordable for the community. I'm pretty sure Photekq has a good reason why this takes a day longer to start.

Your concern has been noted, but please read the thread.

This week I'm going to the bank to open a Euro account. This will allow me to receive payments in EUR rather than GBP, resulting in no conversion fees when paying GMK, resulting in cheaper sets for everyone.

I will also be sorting out my shipping costs by the end of this week. Hopefully Hoff will be sorting out his soon too :)

will be joining this, hopefully the FC660M i wanna get will have spacebar compatible with this!

edit: took a second look at the kits, would it be too much to ask for a second "left shift" (2.25?) tsangan? this is purely for FC660M compatibility :X

Kits aren't being changed. FC660M has a weird spacebar mount that doesn't work with anything -- GMK doesn't even have moulds that work for it, AFAIK.

Tsangan kits have 1.75u shifts, not a 2.25u. If you want a second left shift, you can try and find an ISO user who has a split left shift and get one from them. You'll still be out of luck on the spacebar though.

Will these be identical to the GMK beige doubleshot sets Originative used to sell?

I saw mention before there was "something wrong" with the colors of that set?

I have an Originative set and they are spot on with a vintage set I have, so I'm curious what the difference might be.

Thanks!

Colors look a little muted in the photo below.

Originative offered a few different sets :

GMK Classic beige
GMK Olivetti (classic beige with blue legends)
BSP Classic beige with legend choice : no legends, black, blue, green, red

In your picture is the BSP set with black legends. Dyesubbing was done by BSP before they stopped offering it.

--

This set will be using L9 and U9 for the colours. I have a GMK colour ring, and these are without a doubt the closest match.

The set has different legends and keys from Originative's GMK set, although I believe the colours are the same.

They are definitely not identical sets. Originative's set had poor legend choice and key selection, this one doesn't.

Print Screen instead of Prt Sc
Tab legend
No side-printed 'Sys Rq' and 'Break' on Prt Sc and Pause.

Only three things really, but enough to make the set look terrible.

Though there are no side prinst and the legends are not original cherry it's better than the PBT one

I thind this GB need to wait for a period. after HP and TA , leaving enough time for wallet to recover.
As for me, I absolutely join in , the difference is to buy one or buy two , depending on when this GB start and how long last, then i will get enough time to save money for this so classic beige...

Update from my end

I've been out of town the last week, so haven't made any progress on this.  Tonight I will be doing the following:
  • Determine how many sets can fit in various Flat Rate box sizes for US shipping
  • Order a whole bunch of the aforementioned Flat Rate boxes
  • Order a whole bunch of bubble wrap
  • Order a few non-Flat Rate boxes to estimate size and shipping for non-EU non-US orders
  • ^If I have similarly sized boxes already, I may use those to estimate since it will be quicker
  • Update you guys on what I find out ^-^

As you may have inferred from the above:
All US orders will ship in appropriately sized Flat Rate boxes packed with bubble wrap
All international (non-EU) orders will ship in appropriately sized boxes with bubble wrap.
This (using Flat Rate boxes for US) makes my life a lot easier and will speed up packing/shipping time considerably.  It also makes pricing very consistent.
Unfortunately, with slight variations for international shipping, it will mean slightly over estimating the shipping cost for international orders.  This will be done simply to ensure that I don't end up losing (as much) money on this.   :thumb:

If you have further questions or concerns, please let me know!   :)

Alright, I have preliminary pricing for CONUS orders up to 15 sets and will relay said info to photek for review before presenting it.  Beyond that, I think it will need to be case-by-case.
For non-EU international, I have all packing supply costs accounted for, not counting the actual shipping cost (and the cut-off for "contact us" is 10 sets for international).  Since the cost is so dependent on weight, I will wait to receive in my "trial" boxes (Friday April 17) and do a proper test run with a few GMK sets, etc.

But also note that I'm doing a fair bit of travelling/AFK-ness the coming week(s), so if there are a few days delays please don't be alarmed.  That said, if I don't post in here, feel free to PM me to remind me, I don't mind that.  :)

I will say though, the sweet spot for shipping costs will be right around 5 sets.  ;)  Soooooo...everyone should buy 5 sets.  ;D :))

PS, 1 set is one bag of caps.  So for my lingo, buying both "sets" in the OP counts as 2 sets.  It's too complicated to try to price 1 base + 2 extras, etc, so for simplicity, each option will be considered to be the same.   :thumb:

I think that covers everything, but as always if you have questions please let me know.  :)
