I like mine.  I find that adding any sort of mod kit (CMYW, Dolch Colour Pack) makes it very visually crowded.

Looks nice! What about just the cyan modifiers? And maybe a matching artisan on esc?

Here's an album of CMYW and Colour Pack. http://imgur.com/a/hwARl

I pulled out a KatzenKinder blank that matches pretty well.  Might shop around for something else to match it.

I'm liking the 2nd pic! I reckon a dark grey/cyan cosmonaut would look awesome on the escape key

I feel like the white legends add just too many colours, especially when they're a main focus.  Overall it's a great set, but I think that mod packs will have to be made specifically for this set.

Slightly unrelated, but I've been thinking of pairing these mods with Miami Odessa, and you've just sealed that decision! And yeah, I agree with you on the fact that the white adds too many colours with sky dolch.

Forgot to post this.  The texture of the keys factory new is great, and GMK seems to break in pretty well, so I'm excited to see how they are in a few months.

The texture on those look great. Maybe more than the Ducky PBT it seems. Any nice pictures of the thickness of the caps?

Best I could get before my cat needed attention.

Since they're ABS the texture will eventually smooth out, but I enjoy them at that stage as well.

Holy shiiiiit, do u see that sexy tray it comes with!? I want a cpl of those!!

It's the terrible GMK tray that does nothing.
The tray does a fine job when properly packed. But with Triumph Adler, Massdrop's famous fulfillment center basically threw some loose crumpled up packing paper on top in an oversized box and then shipped them around the country.

Yeah, the tray may be great and all, but how about when you open it? Won't you spill your caps all over the place? Even when opening it carefully, there's going to be some Jack-in-the-Box going on.

I ordered two sets of TA, which I think actually helped them arrive safely (thanks to the extra weight against one another). And I didn't experience any problems while opening the trays. In fact I still use them to store the sets.

Hmm, okay. May order one from Originative to see what they're like.

They seem to be better. I'm going to pick a couple up next time they have a keyset I want, save on shipping a little.

My tray was actually upside down inside the Massdrop box.

I wonder how the new trays would fare if shipped upside down.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

FINE!!!  I have ordered this set and some trays!

I find the old GMK trays rubbish for shipping,  but great for storing/stacking your sets. If these are like those,  I'll still be happy with them for storage purposes....  The pop connectors on the old trays require a little skill though when opening,  or there are caps everywhere :)

I do find the tray even when not shipped and just opened up not good, maybe I was too stupid or did not open the tray careful enough - the keys did never stay where they should stay.

You and I have different experiences.  If I so much as twist the tray a little or tilt it slightly, caps go flying out of place.  A tiny jostle and stuff is flipped.

I think the key is the little bubble-clips in the center of the shell. Between H and J, and to the left of the up arrow key. If those are squished and not properly clipped, you're gonna have a bad time. In my case they are working fine.

I had a similar experience even with two stacked trays

So my order arrived from Originative, I love this set,  but I wanted to talk about the key cap tray.

This version of the tray is far better than the older version. The locks are still a pain,  clunky,  but the trays are solid,  way more solid than the others,  the keyset stayed I  place on shipping.

So I think for storage purposes,  this tray is great.

for anyone that actually has the set, do the cyan legends blend with the green dolch caps? In pictures it just looks a bit too close for my liking.

I had my reservations but I broke down yesterday and bought this set, as well as the CMY mods, and the CMK spacebar group buy. I also am in on the GMK cherry logo pack. I am hoping to find some synergy in all of these kits, but after reading some of XX7's comments I am second guessing it. Either way I am excited to receive this set. Eventually it is going on a Winkeyless B.mini EX2 I also just ordered. RIP wallet.

Gets GMK set, talks about tray :))

I share the pain - I too have one of the TA trays.

The cyan on the gray of the alphas doesn't have enough contrast, IMO, especially for the smaller legends.  That combo is why my Hyperfuse stays in the bag.

Cyan on charcoal looks really great though!

i picked up one of these sets.  it's actually quite nice, despite the bars.  note that it's a pretty dark colorway, and it really has a totally different feeling than dolch.  the cyan legends almost look like they glow.

It barely met MOQ the first time, I doubt it'll be run again.
