Number-row-less TKL
« on: Wed, 24 February 2021, 15:27:20 »
I got some inspiration from the Onyx FRL TKL, and decided to take it to a new, very impractical level. I saw the 4 macro keys on the left side of the Onyx, and thought: why not make it all 12 function keys, and then remove the number row?

So it's basically some botched 40% layout, with arrow keys and 2 media keys (that could maybe be programmed to volume up and down or something) stitched onto the right, and the function row piled into a 3x4 cluster on the left.

I had 2 versions in mind, the default NRL(numrowless) TKL, and PP NRL TKL.

The default layout features Delete and End, horizontally.

The PP version features PgUp and PgDn vertically.

All feedback is welcome, thanks for looking at this stupid board.  ;D

The alpha section is wider than a normal keyboard, and I'm afraid that the far-right 1u Backspace and far-right Enter key would put people off. That section is 3u wider than a 40%!

Why not have a full 6-key cluster on the right?

I don't know if I like the face or the penis on the right side more. I'll have to think about it.
F Keys belong on the left.

I never understood purpose of 40% keyboards...
Why would someone want a number less keyboard?
