Umm... Canada consists of more than just Toronto and Montreal.  There's also this little place called Vancouver (ya know, the Olympics, the Canucks riot, etc) which hasn't received their keys yet.  :(  But I'm still patiently waiting.

I'm actually typing on the Round 1 doubleshots so I'm not in as bad/desperate situation as you guys.  The Round 3 doubleshots (as well as clear keyset) are for my backup Filco tenkeyless board.

In reference to the discussion about the inclusion of a floppy disk key in round 4 (a real floppy, no a 3.5), I just noticed that there is a wingding for one that is quite nice.
Also, we totally should have used the tape reel wingding. (see top right)

The keys feel extremely nice, and the lower profile is nice compared to the Filco's, I always felt like they were a tad bit too high for some reason. These feel perfect, especially with the Filco wrist rest in combination.

The holes for the stabilizer caps weren't very flush at all, they were infact very very lose compared to the Filco keycaps. It was a tad disappointing, and took a lot longer than necessary to install the stabilizers with the new keys because of them keep calling out all the time.

Other than that, it's pretty perfect. My left shift key (main shift for me), feels a bit clunky, maybe a bit more so than my Filco ones... it sounds like it has a lot of chatter once pressed compared to the other stabilizer keys... any suggestions? It did this with the Filco keys as well, but it may sound a bit more enhanced with the new keys. Would some lube fix this? It's hard to explain, it just doesn't sound nice when depressed, and feels a bit clunky (it's installed correctly though).

Like, my return/enter key feels the best, and the rest of the stabilizer keys minus space bar sound a bit clunky and they aren't fast to come back up when depressed on the sides. Lube?

Put some piece of a plastik bag between stabilizer mount and key cap. I think you stbilizers are a bit loose.

Like 7bit said, put a small piece of plastic bag or saran wrap into the cross-shaped hole and then put the white plastic piece that holds the wire stabilizers into it and it should be more snug.  The original fix was to use a piece of scotch tape (which I did with my GB1 keys) but it's a tad too thick and sticky.  A piece of thin plastic bag or saran wrap would work better since you could layer it if it isn't thick enough and it does not leave a sticky mess.

As for lube, my Filco already had some white lube anywhere the plastic meets the wire stabilizer and I managed to keep enough on the wire that I did not have to add any to my GB1 double-shots.  If yours are dry, then it may slow down the key rebound.  Maybe try some white lithium grease.  BTW, I'm still waiting for mine to show up, are you in the lower mainland or farther inland?  Fingers crossed for Monday.

There was actually two separate problems in my post.

The loose stabilizers were fine, I got them to work for the most part, and will try the plastic bag/tape method if it bothers me in the future.

However, my shift key has felt clunky since before these keys, even compared to other keys with stabilizers. I took out the white caps and put the key on by itself (stabilizer not being used then) and it feels SO much better. There's no clunk/cheap feeling to the keyboard anymore on my shift key. Any repercussions by doing this?

So basically, the problem lies in the bar I'm guessing, it sounds very, very clunky, they all do but none are terribly bad except my left shift key which I use a lot. I wish it could sound/feel like it does without the stabilizer being used, with it being used lol. A bit confusing I know. I was wondering if it was acting like this because of lack of lube, it seems like there's a lot of friction and noise. It feels and sounds a million times better without the stabilizer being used.

More people have keys now, I'm repeating my appeal for blank black "oddball" keys for the right half of the keyboard... anyone have some spares they won't use?
