The only thing preventing me from buying in on other drops or FS/T sets right now is knowing that Laser is right around the corner.  My whitefox OG caps will have to make due till then.

This is where you would find he current listings:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/eat_the_food/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

If you select completed listing, you will see the prior listings.

I don't think it will update in time. I've done every possible notification for this and it sells so fast that I haven't received a single update for any of them. I usually check throughout the day, this morning when I was walking my dogs... These were not up yet :(

On a whim checked completed listings again and there they were, all sold.

He sometimes does a whole day as an eBay sale and then that gets a birb - but complaints about server propagation time being unfair and basically ruling out half the world and even most of the USA seem to have made him cut it down or out.

He still uses it, it seems, for random unannounced sales without a birb - usually of very few caps (time to run a raffle for 1 cap?) or unpaid invoices or maybe B-grades or bad experiments I think. Basically impossible to catch though unless you F5 his eBay constantly.

....and here comes day 50. Goddamn.

Not impossible. I have gotten 3 caps from eBay so far. Just gotta stay on it. It definitely helps that I work from home so I am at my computer most of the time.

You misunderstand. eBay works like AWS with local propagation and multiple servers/CDNs. The time it takes to appear on multiple servers is MORE than the time it takes to sell out. Therefore for some geographic regions, it is actually impossible because the item never appears on sale to us.

I'm not upset with him banging random unpaid or b-grade caps on there cos, c'mon, it's one cap at a time. But for his sales, i'd rather there was at least an element of 'everyone can enter, if you're paying attention and on time'

flyingalbatross1 is correct. Replication can be as fickle as RNG. Miotch92 you living in Utah is probably a bit better for your odds than some of us on the far east coast (our eBay is pointing at a different availability zone)

No.  So many people blame the bots and it's salty and lame.  I was able to get an Aquaculture and a Horticulture on eBay by a basic and classic F5'ing of ETF's listings page after the canary dropped.  I happened to be at home during both of those sales, on the East Coast of the U.S., with a decent connection via powerline adapter but certainly not as much bandwidth as many other people in this community.  I think being on the East Coast of the U.S. is a good spot for seeing ETF's listings page update, and being logged into eBay and ready to go after the canary drops is enough to snag one if you click quickly and accurately.

I don't see how bots would be used in this case? The listings are always different titles. And if they were set up to buy anything that drops from ETF... Well then he should have some fun with it and put some pencils up for like $600

I think this is why he's abandoned eBay for actual sales....we convinced him it was unfair, not just in a 'waaah, it's not fair' salty way.

I don't genuinely believe Bots are doing it, I think this is just salty response. I think it's a propagation thing - certain regions get it before elsewhere, and where 20 caps go in <10 seconds, this is unfortunately enough to make it fundamentally unfair.

Single cap sales make sense though cos it's a lot of effort otherwise.

I wouldn't mind more scavenger hunts but they take time to organise....long as everyone's on a level playing field it's fair!

He still uses it, it seems, for random unannounced sales without a birb - usually of very few caps (time to run a raffle for 1 cap?) or unpaid invoices or maybe B-grades or bad experiments I think. Basically impossible to catch though unless you F5 his eBay constantly.

If you look at who purchased the last few eggfaces on ebay, you'll see that it's mostly the same people. So it's not impossible, you just need the right setup.

i.e. Bots...

Exactly. I got an horticulture on mobile. It can be done.

Scavenger hunts would work well at meetups
