Can’t wait for it! I’m so getting my first ever tray mount keyboard for custom scene. Any idea how will the GB work? If I’m not able to get it this round, will there be a round 2?

I am very curious about the dampener. Typing feel is all up there, and I can only go by what Geon says (and perhaps the people to whom he gives protoypes as well). But I want to know the audio profile vs using a sheet of EVA foam / neoprene / sorbothane. I'm trying to create a classy quiet mech, so I'm watching this thread.

I added it because there was an opinion to add ISO first. And because of the structure, the left SHIFT key cannot be divided into two.
In order to reduce the unit price from the previous method of using iron core, the bracket was changed to a single body and because it may be too flexible, the plan is to place a reinforcement plate on top of PCB.

Looks very interesting, and I'm always looking to try new mounting methods or structures. But I wish someone could offer a bit more explanation about this structure, how it works, what are the (theoretical) advantages or disadvantages.

Cons of tray mount: tends to be stiff and inconsistent in both sound and feel. This is because of the posts the pcb/plate is screwed onto.

Pros: Most standardized PCBs come with tray mount holes (mostly just 60s tho). Allows for easier pcb replacement. Also tray mount boards tend to cost significantly less as they can usually be machined in a single main piece.

This board: attempts to resolve the cons by implementing torsion beams for those mounting points, allowing for some flex and maybe better acoustics.

I'm curious if it will be able to compare with some of the more "superior" mounting systems out there? Obviously I guess we'll have to see the board to know, but I wonder if it will simply improve on tray mount, or will it give us a unique typing experience all together.

Nothing can be said to be superior. You'd better say it's pleasantly used by someone.

Will you post an update here when the Group Buy starts or do we just have to watch the vendor discord servers?

Also, the image shows "switch interference."  Is this a problem needing to be solved or is there a solution?

My first custom is plateless. Pretty easy on the fingers, and the sound profile sounds a little bit more pleasing.
This looks like an entirely different beast though.

Very interested in your leaf spring design and what that would bring to the feeling from this board.  I don't really want anymore 65% keyboards and would much prefer a 75% or TKL but I could be tempted into buying this to see what the design works like.

Great to see original thinking and design.

I hope this keyboard restores my faith in tray mounts! Can't wait to try it out!

Quick question: does the PCB support split-backspace and, if it doesn't, would you consider changing the PCB to accommodate split-backspace?

I can't tell if the flex toward the center is as much as the flex at the angles (inclination) and if the latter could cause issue with SA key caps, also: is the kind of flex and movement, that seems pivoting the center, useful for the typing experince aside of isolating maybe the sound of the caps from the case?
