Sorry if this is not a good place to ask this - I have recently bought Korean keyboard and it doesn't have right CTRL and ALT working as those - I found out that Korean keyboards have those assigned to switch for Knja or Hangul or something like that. Is there any Korean fellow Geekhacker who could help me read the manual? :)

you guys really think this is funny huh.

i hope you get scammed out of a lot of money for buying some fake, and you lose your job or business because someone steals and profits off your work. see how funny it is then.

The designs in question are not in production anymore, and OTD wasnt some money hungry company selling stuff to turn a profit to survive. The OTD clones arnt affecting the profits of anyone from the original team and the original design files are surely just sitting on several of Eungasm's hard drives with no intention to produce anymore for some kind of a profit. If we were to go by that comparison then we could easily say how terrible it is that MX style clones exist, and that anyone who buys those are ruining the jobs of the workers at the Cherry factory etc.

Did OTD file a patent for any of its designs?  Patent or not though, the clones are not financially affecting the OTD team's sales or profits.

I have two builds in the works, an SKCM Orange Alps build with Old-logo Dell dye-subs for the Jane V2 and some 60g West German vintage MX Blacks for the Jane V2 CE. I was originally thinking of trying to swap the V2 CE for a winkey top so I could use OG Cherry POM caps but I think I have new plans for those now. Still no plans for the PC Alice at the moment.

You can buy whatever you want man; I'm glad you enjoy your fake. But don't act surprised that nobody gives ha'penny ****; posting that here and then getting all defensive at the responses is pretty comical. I got a good laugh out of it anyway. Dance, clown!

Lovely pics as always hayt. You're flaring up my anger at being 0.5s too late.

Me defensive? not at all, just simply addressing the point of the other user becoming defensive over the financial impact that a clone might have to the OTD team when there was none to begin with. But in general the responses are pretty entertaining to see.

Times have changed but some old stuff is still good.

Let's keep the edgy fakes out of this thread. It was voted back a few years ago to keep the name of this thread and make it a generic custom keyboard thread, but the name was kept.

The brass one (grey) has 62g G80-3000HAV blacks in it I think. I've been meaning to rebuild it though, so that might change. I don't own the non-brass silver one anymore, so I'm not sure what it's got at the moment ;D

Mail day from a few months back, thanks yuktsi  :thumb:

I have two builds in the works, an SKCM Orange Alps build with Old-logo Dell dye-subs for the Jane V2 and some 60g West German vintage MX Blacks for the Jane V2 CE. I was originally thinking of trying to swap the V2 CE for a winkey top so I could use OG Cherry POM caps but I think I have new plans for those now. Still no plans for the PC Alice at the moment.

Nice boards, nice builds, nice rug, nice guy

For something completely different:

Singa Jaguar

  • FR4 plate
  • Black Ink V2 + 205g0
  • catweewee 55g springs + Victorinox multi-tool oil
  • Deskeys films
  • Durock smoke stabilizers + Krytox XHT-BDZ
  • GMK Red Alert (2015)

Was lucky enough to get in on the recent clear polycarbonate Jaguar drop. Elaine really does a great job with these boards: the dual-finish brushed/sandblasted weight, 2mm alu/polycarb plates, compatibility with both USB mini and USB-C a.87 PCBs, and foam cutout to reveal the inner engraving (absent from my photos) are all details that demonstrate how much thought went into this design.

My only critique is that the Jane V1 plate can be a little stiff around the spacebar for me -- I much prefer the Koala-style 7-point mount. Only using the 4 corner plate screws with FR4 gives it just enough give to be comfortable though, and FR4 sounds great with Inks. I have the o-ring around the assembly, but am keeping it top-mount. I found the o-ring made the mounting too stiff, a softer durometer like the one found on the Jane V2 CE might help with that, but the board isn't designed to be o-ring mounted. Very cool to have an o-ring included to experiment with.

would like to see more boards with f13 to balance the symmetry of the left side esc key tbh.

That's kinda all I look for in new TKLs these days after the Jane CE.

It was a fun f13 key or a duckaround key that put the main 60-70% in a frame.

Miss mine lol.
