How I developed this keycap set:

The original inspiration came from a pink himalayan truffle salt I used while I was cooking.
The idea evolved but the overall color scheme stuck with me, as well as the idea of using truffle as one of the main ideas.

Without boring you with details....
The final outcome was using "Trüffelschwein" as the main theme.
I also decided to go with the German name to pay homage to GMK.

Fun facts:
Trüffelschwein (Truffle Pig), are utilized in finding wild truffles. (In modern times, dogs are more commonly used)
Wild truffles are very hard to find, and very expensive, especially the winter white variety selling for up to $5000 per pound.
Truffles are found in roots of trees, and maintain a symbiotic relationship.

Couldn't this have just been amended to your original IC?

Complete the Alternate Mods Kit with the missing F keys (eight in total) and you'll make a lot of people quite happy.

Absolutely right! thanks for pointing this out!

The base kit compatibility is quite good (and, by extension, the Alternate Mods kit). The only suggestions I have are:

- Consider replacing R4 \| and R3 #~ with R4 <> and R3 \|.

- Consider adding an F13 key, which has quickly become the new "in" key. You will be asked to make it mod-colored and alpha-colored by different people.

- Consider adding a space bars kit (with an Alice B key).

This reminds me a lot of the IC for GMK PoN: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106064.0

The pink color is admittedly different, but I had trouble telling the two apart at first glance.

Not trying to be accusatory! Just wanted to bring it up.

Isn't this the original set? https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106260.0

Shouldn't you just update that one and post all this new info on it?

This is one in the same. Same OP. He came back with this as a more official starting IC for his truffle idea.

I love the further development of the truffle theme (had no idea truffle pigs were a thing and it works so well with the pink). The name holds a lot more weight while being shorter than the first so that worked out great. Kitting is simple, inclusive, and makes sense. Looks great! Really excited to see it all tied together with novelties and desk mats.

One of the things I liked about the first IC were those images of those salt jars. It added a ton of warmth and coziness that I think works well with this set. I think I would really enjoy if that was expanded upon in the deskmats or novelties or something. Going back to my salt lamp idea but also maybe like a spice cabinet full of truffle salt or a basket of truffles or something. I can see myself getting really immersed in that. I will still be following closely whichever direction you take it though.

i'm not entirely sure why a new ic was needed, as others have said.
could you not just have edited your initial ic to reflect these changes?

Now that you've created this post I'd lock up the old one and point everyone here so there is no confusion.

Ahhh snap my bad I didn't know it was gone I just remebered having seen the old one.

No need to thank you're idea is great I had no idea truffle pigs were a thing. The colors are a great combo as well, if it didn't go against my code I'd jump the gun.

lol I would love to move faster, and as you obviously can see, I need to make some adjustments to the basekits and alt mods kit.
As well as work on the novelties, and spacebars.
All of them are being worked on diligently.

I've also reached out to multiple custom artisan makers for collaboration, so there is work being done there as well.

Not a fan of the pigs footprint on novelties.  Maybe change it for a pigs snout or a swirl for the pigs tail?

The colorway is great, go trüffelschwein!
Would recommend maybe matching the Pantone to the closest RAL before production if possible.

Thanks for the interest and signature banner support!
I'm still in the stage of finalizing/tuning the kits, as well as artisan collaborations.
I will probably do an IC form once those are done

Again, really appreciate the support! Thanks

I love how the novelties look! Exactly what I had in my mind before you added and the truffles aren't overbearing and nicely stylized. I happen to love the hoof prints its such a nice idea to have on R1.
