Hi everyone,

I want something generic that's not on the market:

 * Doubleshot key caps (preferably PBT but I guess ABS is fine),
 * White on black (or black with a dark brown nuance or similar),
 * Variants of the Windows key that are blank, or say "System",
 * No multimedia keys,
 * Preferably traditional symbol prints e.g. arrows and menu keys are actually a geometrical arrow instead of a "DOWN", "UP" text,

And I want this in "NorDe" layout (= Swedish).

The closest on the market is Filco's SPKCS105D/SW (https://www.keyboardco.com/product/double-shot-filco-105-key-swedish-finnish-keyset.asp, review https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/286eu8/filco_iso_doubleshot_keycaps_review/, photo http://i.imgur.com/2RVwNNa.jpg ) however it has ugly Windowsy Windows keys and you can't buy blank Windows keys separately. I find Windows logos immoral, there is no relation to Windows. If https://zambumon.com/chocolatier/ was all-black it would have fit too.

The design that inspires me the most of all keyboard designs is maybe "GMK Eclipse" (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=91931.0 / https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=90360.0 and was retailed here https://web.archive.org/web/20171026075214/https://www.candykeys.com/product/gb-gmk-eclipse/), it has such a fresh, clear and professional feeling to it.

While there are high quality keyboards on the market (e.g. Filco, Wasd), most key caps suck. WASD for instance delivers UV keys (called "pad printing" here https://deskthority.net/wiki/Keycap_printing), for me they started wearing off in weeks, that's just totally unacceptable. I believe except for not wearing off, doubleshot key caps will have a special classic unmistakable shine to them that appeals to anyone who is quality-conscious. There must be a market for an all-black multilingual shiny black key set for constant sale, not just some random massdrop five years ago from someone who is now unreachable.

Who can make this?

Is it available today?

Who can I ask for it?

This question should apply to other language designs like French, Portuguese, German, Russian, and so on.

(For the great general relevance of the question, I doubleposted with https://www.massdrop.com/talk/10419/white-on-black-doubleshot-keys-nor-de-swedish-traditional-symbols-black-system-for-windows-keys-no-m and https://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/generic-iso-norde-swedish-white-on-black-doubleshot-blank-win-whr-get-t20001.html.)

I would definitely be in for a set of WoB Norde set. I have been looking for a while but I haven't found one yet. There was a GB on a german forum for a German set of WoB a while back but I haven't seen any successful GB for Norde sets.

Krakob did an attempt a while back but couldn't find enough people commited.

Imho this is a bit of a chicken and egg problem... atm there are not enough “NorDe(UK) folks that are interested (or know) in (about) aftermarket keycap sets.
So the majority (mostly non Eu folks) vouch against the inclusion of iso-uk for 5-7$ saving (on a 130$+ set...). While this doesn’t give all Eu the correct legends it would at least let “us” fill a board.
The next and biggest problem is the pricing structure from gmk though, where every child kit costs way more (on a per key base) then the base set. This and high moq on the child kits prohibits creators from offering kits like iso-de/fr/it etc for a reasonable price.
Even if Europe is a rich continent, shelling out 50€+ for the correct legends + base (more often then not >200€ together with shipping and vat) isn’t what most people do.
Pretty sure GMK is not to blame though, we “just” need to get more Europeans to this hobby so we can easily hit a 100moq on specialised kits like iso-fr or even hit major price drops for 1000 kits sold... I mean what are 1000 sets for Germany... 80mio ppl here, the question is how to get 0.001% interested in this 😂... but how to do it without a major player fronting and promoting it or any sets with correct legends available (wich really is important to most people who don’t even understand that the label on the key isn’t what makes the keyboard output something).
That’s why I claim it’s a chicken and egg problem, even though the community is big, it’s segregated too much and there is nothing that can be done to change that.

Closest you'll get is OG German Cherry WoB.. They are supposedly not hard to come by (though I've been looking for a set myself for a while :)))

The most popular GMK sets have Nordic addons, such as Carbon and Nautilus, but I don't think there's one for GMK WoB...

Original German-layout Cherry sets don't include the letter Å, the "^~ key next to it or the keys for § and +? on the numeric row.

You would have to get the Å, +? and "^~ keys from Danish or Norwegian layout ... and ...
The § key in the top/left corner is is unique to Swedish/Finnish! It is actually different in all three layouts.
But, if you don't have a function row (60% or 65% kb), you might want to put Esc there anyway.
(BTW. the German ^° symbols together are similar to the lambda-ring "Earth" symbol in Stargate so if you are a fan of that movie/tv-series you might like it for that reason...)
