I like Poker's layout and I'm not sure if Ducky is compatible with aftermarket cases.
I'm back.

Considering both are quality boards with their own strengths and weaknesses, you need to decide what kind of feature set and styling you are looking for.

Po3kr:
  • Stock Aluminium case
  • Stock PBT keycaps
  • Full keyboard program-ability

Ducky Mini:
  • Aluminium top case
  • Dual Color backlighting
  • Intuitive Function layer with mouse movement

Those are the basic features that each keyboard offers, if you are still stuck deciding, then you may need to do some more personal research on your end.

Pok3r, because of the low profile case and stock pbt keycap ;D

I might be a little biased here, but I'd say the pok3r.
It has a really nice looking low-profile aluminium case, which was one of the major selling points for me.

POK3R, stock ptb keycaps and a sleek look, never been a fan of back lighting unless it is white, even then it is a non factor for me.

What should you buy the ducky for? A bulky case? Get a pok3r and enjoy the freedom of programmability. This isn't even a debatable question :-)
Better than a poker there is only gon and the geekhack pcb.

Ducky mini has a weird thick case, and the pok3r has a very low profile case, polar opposites. That being said the pok3r has so much more potential for modding and changing other things. Both are around the same price, personally I'd go with the Pok3r. But then there is always the problem of availability.

I vote for the Pok3r. And if you are digging for backlit, Pok3r backlit comes very soon, also with dual color.

I had two pok3r with rusty plates bought brand new from amazon.

The second one looked fine but the paint job on the plate was poorly done with bubbling and underneath was another rust problem. Hard to recommend from me.

Ouch!  Is that common?  I've never heard of that on a new board!
I'm back.

Well I had two in a row like it I doubt they are all like that but some people won't know they got rust plates underneath the paint.. I wasn't impressed at all with the fit and finish of the pok3r. Plate felt week as well. I think I would of preferred a nice thick plastic case, PBT dye sub caps and drop the razer like font.Won't be touching any more boards from Vortex in the future. My leopold feel like a different league.

You can pretty much rebuild a Pok3r with all new parts, right? Bottom cases are just the beginning, if you really want to you can desolder the switches and LED's...?
What about the PCB, can you replace that?

I mean, if you are planning to rebuild most of it, you might as well get a cheaper board, as you'll have to spend money on quality components. Replacing PCB would pretty much be same as getting a new keyboard, considering it is the root for a board.

For example, check out KBP V60(can't stop sharing the board  :D). It's cheaper, and pretty much same as poker, just not programmable(not at the moment, but I am getting close to making custom firmware). There are definitely other similar boards, and if you are a hacky person, that likes to modify everything about a keyboard, then why not?

Sure, sure, I'm just saying - The Pok3r is like buying a standard PC where you can switch out the individual parts, even if it might be a lot of work and you have to learn how to do it. But the Ducky is more or less like an iMac. You can't change much about it.

Depends if you want backlighting or not.

If you must have backlighting, get the Ducky.

For all other criteria the Pok3r is a better choice (programmability, customisation, etc).
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.
