Basically it is cheaper to harvest them from the full size Leopold, though it is still nice if someone want to buy only a few of these.

Singapore Air mail is great, I sent all my stander shipping via them, low price. Just make sure you get the real one, I hear that Red is run low stock even with Cherry. You might sell it on eBay, I do have people ask me for few(like 5-10) of them.

I think the "soft tactile" switches sold by Mouser and Digi-Key are actually clears, not browns as I initially assumed.  Someone here set me straight on that.  The ones you can buy through "normal channels" here in the US are blues, clears, and blacks, and it's the reds and (surprisingly) browns that are hard to get.

No surprise at all, clears are sold in Europe end US, Browns are sold in Asia because for unknown reasons they like them.

Not really.  Only board you can get in the US with clears is the Deck Legend.  Only way we can get them here otherwise is individual switches, or have a European friend send us a Cherry board.  (or buy a used POS board.  Those apparently got lots of clears for some reason)

I still hope that WASD decides to offer a board with clears out of the box; but then I'd have to sell the one that I already have :)

I still am in that "shiny new toy" stage when I come to work in the morning.  It's been a couple weeks since I put the clears in my Filco and it's an absolute joy to type on.  I keep waiting for the novelty to wear off, but it still feels great.  And I didn't even use new clears, I used ones out of a POS board.  If I'd known that I was going to like it this much I probably could have justified buying new switches from Digi-Key though.

possibly...  just not sure why clears don't seem to be used in anything though.  I would think that if people actually had the opportunity to try them, the clears would be the default tactile, non-clicky switch not browns, and yet with all the different flavors of mechanical board on the market, nobody but Deck actually makes a board with them.

Are there any "not sold in US" boards besides Cherry that use clear switches?

I think Deck is it.  There was a rumor at one point (maybe even started/perpetuated by Deck themseves) that Cherry was going to discontinue the clears.  It doesn't seem to be the case, but who knows?  Personally, I find clears too stiff, but YMMV.

yeah, they are stiff, but at least to me not offensively so, and I find that browns are too light with blues barely acceptable (yeah, I know that the blues use the same spring, but they either require slightly more force to press, or else the audible feedback helps me calibrate my fingers better so as not to bottom out.)  Which just goes to show you that there's room in the world for more than one key switch.  But of all the Cherry switches I've tried, I have to say that I like clears the best with the never-actually-made ergo clears and blues next.  Browns don't even crack the top three.  If I ever find some loose blue stems I might try cyans and assume that I'll like those better than browns as well.  (maybe if I get real bored I'll change my WASD to cyans and have two never-actually-made keyboards.)

I think you should reverse the question. Who build MX based keyboards outside the Asia ?

I think very few companies and usually dedicated to vertical applications like Access-IS.

Maybe our galactic expert have some more names...

Then either I'm unlucky or you are lucky.

Nod bad for me as I can get a brand new donor board for 40€ so 38 eurocent per switch, but for the people in the US getting the switches there is a good option.

Any chance you can get the Reds without diodes (MX1A-L1NW)?  If not then the MX1A-L1DW will work fine.  I'm looking to get 150 of them, so how much would that be with shipping to the U.S.?
