[IC] Eau75 R2-water retains no constant shape
« on: Fri, 26 January 2024, 04:30:49 »
Hello everyone, this is CHAOSERA!
More than a month has passed in 2024, and the Chinese New Year is approaching.
We wants to extend early New Year greetings to everyone, wishing you a vibrant and energetic year ahead!
Today, we bring you our new product - Eau75 R2.

Eau75, as the first official product of our studio, may not be considered exceptionally outstanding, and it even has some issues.
However, it holds profound significance for us.
This product marks our initial step into the customized keyboard domain and serves as the foundation for all our subsequent products.
Therefore, we hope to iterate and upgrade Eau75 with our current understanding of products and craftsmanship.
We believe it will bring a completely new experience to everyone.

1.Appearance

The elegant waistline on the side of Eau75 is primarily designed to embody the theme of "water."
Therefore, the design at that time adopted gently curved lines, enhanced by the visual contrast between the top case and bottom case.
This design received positive feedback at the time.
On Eau75 R2, we aim to retain this design concept and enhance the visual impact.
Therefore, this version's presentation will be more aggressive, featuring sharper lines and a more pronounced emphasis on the design contrast compared to the previous version.
To achieve this, we have added 4 components to make the side profile appear more visually intricate and three-dimensional.
The design of these 4 components, whether in terms of lines or slopes, is intended to enhance visual impact.
Therefore, you will notice that beneath a soft curve, we abruptly use a 90-degree chamfer to create a strong contrast, leveraging the interplay between gentle curves and sharp angles.
Keen observers may notice that at the bottom, EAU75 R2 is not on a single plane.
This is because, to enhance the visual effect, we raised the main weight by 1.5mm.

At the back of Eau75 R2, a three-stage design is employed, consisting of the rear weight, main weight, and bottom case.
In the gap between the rear weight and the main weight, we have incorporated an LED strip, which, through reflection, illuminates the space between these two components.
The main weight is made of polished stainless steel, featuring a pattern designed with irregular curves. It gives the impression of two water currents colliding and merging.
The theme of this design is inspired by the quote from Sun Tzu's Art of War, "Therefore, just as water retains no constant shape, so in warfare there are no constant conditions."

Similarly, in the upper right corner on the front face, we have incorporated a small nameplate with a functional button according to this theme.

2.Structure

On Eau75 R2, we have implemented a newly developed structure.
Details about this structure will be provided in the next update.
For now, what we can share is that it utilizes a suspension-type mounting method inspired by suspension bridges.
The main objective is to offer a new typing experience.
Currently, most keyboards on the market offer a choice between soft and hard tactile feedback.
Soft tactile feedback is comfortable to press but may lack a firm feel, while hard tactile feedback provides a strong sensation but may lead to hand fatigue.
With this new structure, we aim to address this conflict and provide a key feel that is not too soft yet avoids causing hand fatigue during key presses.

3.Color Scheme

In terms of color scheme, we want each player to achieve their ideal color combination.
Therefore, we have divided the kit into three parts: top case, bottom case, and rear weight.
Each part shares 4-5 colors for players to mix and match according to their preferences.
Below are some color schemes we have internally created for reference.

Any plans for different form factors in the future; mayhaps a 65%?
