Such lovely yellow keycaps :D  It seems a shame to replace them.

But the keyboard looks so sleek with the new keycaps on :)

I know! I'm so torn... I'm thinking I'll get another fullsize KB (perhaps the filco multicam?) to put these on.
But that will be in the distant future.

Buying keyboards ... distant future ... ah, you mean the week AFTER next! ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Forgive me if I have posted this here before, I don't think I did. Probably one of my favorite pictures I have taken, just because the focus was pretty spot on and its such a clean picture.

I love this shot and I love that you uploaded the full (or as much as) full res version. It drives me mad finding the perfect wallpaper only to see the author has limited the image to a 500x500 res. <3 <3

:D I'm glad you like that shot! I love that one too~ Yeah, sometimes I think I should resize so it's easier to look at the picture as a whole but then again, I think most people would prefer the details. If you're going to use that photo as a wallpaper, and you'd like it without the watermark, please let me know :) That ugly thing shouldn't be on there anyway :P

Oh don't worry about it, when I resized the width to 1920 it was 80px too tall anyway so I was able to frame it and the watermark was essentially cropped out :P But a tiny water mark like that is no problem!

Yeah, dood. Isn't the thing absolutely beautiful in person? Not only that, it sounds and feels absolutely amazing. That low profile, breh.

I can only imagine the beautiful things you'll do with it soon :D

I would normally have the Night Owl on the ~` but I've been using console a lot in Steam games lately and didn't wanna wear that baby out.

Looks so nice, proof that just because a keycap is transparent, it doesn't need to be backlit :D

The whole black and red theme works so well on that board.

I am not sure what if anything I want to do with it yet. I am kind of liking how it blends in with my setup so nice right now. If only the lime green keycaps were a bit less bright, those would be perfect.

Only thing I am sad about right now is how none of my novelty keycaps are topre lol. Hope I can get in the next brobot sale, I didn't get anything from the 4grabs :P

Yeah, mang. A transparent keycap doesn't need back lighting! It's transparent, which means that surrounding light and monitor light will shine right through it and will illuminate :D I actually think it looks better that way. When you have LED's lighting them up, they usually don't let you see the details of that keycap.

Oh yeah. It totally didn't cross my mind that all your caps are MX :P I'm sure you'll get in on the next sale. I have a lime green set too but I have no green novelty caps for Topre either lol so it's hard to match that set up with many things. I've been using them to match the green eyes of VS Purple, and that's it :P

I'm sure you'll come up with something soon :D With your camera setup tho, I'd drool over photos of the stock keyboard. It's beautiful as is!

I also didn't get in on the last 4grabs... or none of the 4grabs for that matter... never... :'( lol

Hehe, I have not been around long enough to feel that disappointment XD

I think I am 0/2 on 4grabs so far, and 0/1 on ek sales. Not fun

As for leds, yeah, they can be harsh when lighting up keycaps, although the reaper I have seems to take backlighting really well. My brothers purple haze v2 though, not so much, the light just doesn't diffuse enough so it looks better without backlighting.

Bought a new lens, have not made much yet, but really like it. A manual 100mm f/2 macro lens.

And this is made with a 60mm macro lens. Glas and reflections like naasfu's pictures :) But it's the photo spot i like most now. A light table at work, with some milk blue glass. I made also some experiments with turned on lights, without success yet. I just like the lightening here.

Was dustin the main reason for the switch to Nikon?  I'm still trying to figure out which direction to go with my next purchase.  Some of the Nikons seem nice, but Canons are also nice.

stock lens playing with exposure in a dark setting

:O

Is this your new camera?  D3300, right?

Beautiful photo.  The cap is alright too, I suppose.

yeah im still trying to figure everything out from switching from a canon. Looking into picking up a 40mm macro, really loving this camera so far :)

Was dustin the main reason for the switch to Nikon?  I'm still trying to figure out which direction to go with my next purchase.  Some of the Nikons seem nice, but Canons are also nice.

a big factor in my decision yes, i figured he could help me troubleshoot more so than googling everything to learn  :)

Glass is what matters... once you start investing in lenses, making a switch is very expensive. Whatever you decide, I highly recommend buying a body + 1 prime lens to begin with. Both platforms are very nice, and their mid to top range cameras play cat and mouse in terms of sensor dominance... right now I think Nikon has a slight edge, especially with their lower-end offerings (entry level Canons are pretty meh IMO, and I'm a Canon guy) but they quickly get much better. The heat is on Canon to make some leaps forward as micro 4/3rds has been killing it with video recently and even some cell phones w/4K resolution are putting the hurt on the 5DMKIII. Canon has kind of cornered themselves trying to not cannibalize sales of the C300 by making their DSLRs too good - it'll be cool to see what shows up at Photokina this year  ^-^

I'm currently debating between the 70D and the ... would the equivalent be the D5300?

I'm also interested in having it work well for astrophotography, so I have that consideration thrown into the mix as well.  :)

Maybe you can help me make a decision!  :P

Equivalent to 70D will be D7000 or D7100. I am upgrading my old Canon 40D to Nikon D7000. I should be here on Monday and I can not wait!

Oh interesting, astrophotography definitely adds complexity to your decision! Canon actually makes an astrophotography variant of the 60D, the 60Da that I believe comes stock without the IR filter; it however seems ridiculously priced ($1,499 @ BH vs regular 60D @ $699) so I'm not sure that would be the best option... personally I'd rather put the extra money towards a nice lens  :)) I will have to read up on what's new and what's coming down the pipe for Canon / Nikon/ Sony / Pentax / Olympus / et al.  :thumb:

Yeah, I saw that 60Da  :))  Not quite ready for that big of a purchase!  Though it does look really great...  If you do find out things relevant to my interests, you should let me know.  :-*  Otherwise I'll just get impatient and pick on at random.  :P

Ahh, yes, the D7000, right.  :)  What made you decide to switch from Canon to Nikon?

Is this off topic?  It's sort of on topic because it's photography, right??

I heard that Nikon will produce better quality pictures by a small margin and D7000 had really good reviews so I decided to switch over.
