Oh my flipping holy mama! That looks BEAUTIFUL! HOPE YOU ENJOY IT <3
jchan! i do enjoy this beauty!!  does the JC65 PCB support screw in stabilizers?

Yes of course it does :). I used the Zeal ones on the prototype.

You may find the video made by Quakemz here -

Btw., how many M65-As were made? (Since it used to be a limited run, I'm wondering how much more demand there was.)

Over 9000 obviously

I think 9000 is correct for the number of emails I get a day asking about extras ;)

In any case, I believe 450 were made internationally.

Please note: I know that some invoice numbers go higher than that, but that's because a lot of people dropped out during invoicing phase.

Well that doesn't inspire me with confidence to grab one later :(

But awesome they are shipping out!

Hey jchan94,
will there be a heads up when the FCFS Rama's will be on sale? I missed the GB and really want a space gray one :)

Cheers!

Yes.

Sooooo.... What's the likelihood of seeing a brass plate up for sale?  :(  *fingers crossed*

Edited to be less rude:

Yes, there will be extras of pretty much EVERYTHING. Extra Kits, extra PCBs, extra plates and extra bottoms.

The same thing was directly stated on page 22 (which was longer ago than I thought) and frequently mentioned after that.

Might be easier just to edit in all the extras details into the top of the first post to stem some of the repeat questions. This is a long thread though - I can understand why some would just ask again instead of reading (not that it's the right move).

Sorry, I was sitting in an annoying evening lecture and got a notification email for this thread and was greeted with the same question as always and let my mood swing over.

Love you kawasaki  ;D

----

USA shipment should be landing soon. I got this image a while ago, but forgot to share it. I just want you all to see how organized we've been able to make this. Each box contains 4 M65-A's (within their own beautiful boxes).

Do you see your invoice number? :D

A note on Extras

Once the group buy shipment is out, full details will be given for the release time/date of the extras. These are a retail price, and the full details, including pricing will be provided on Instagram (@keyclack), Reddit, this thread, and the keyclack mailing list after the bulk buy ships. You will have at least, a 72 hour heads up.

Please remember, the units are first come, first serve. My website autoscales with traffic demand so it doesn't crash, but it hangs when it's hugged.

What can I buy in the extras?
- PCBs
- Plates (Brass and Aluminum)
- Bottoms (Nylon, and Aluminum)
- and Full Pre-Determined Kits.

What is a pre-determined kit?

- A kit that has the top, bottom, plate, and PCB in a box. They come as is, and won't change.
- Also, you're limited to 1 Full Kit Unit (you can add the other parts if you wish, such as extra plate, or pcb).

Is there a R2?

- Currently, none planned, but Rama and I will explore that idea after the M65A is in people's hands.

------------

I hope that clears things up, and hope you all get this soon. Cheers.

Thank you for the info on extras jchan! It is nice to hear there will be efficient notice before extras go on sale. I'm excited to see everybody's builds!

Hey jchan,

Just wondering if you've asked us about which size stabs we wanted yet.
I changed email since the GB and just wanted to make sure I didn't miss your email.

Thanks!

If you ordered through taobao (or Asia proxy), you get it through them.

If you ordered from me, you get it from me in Los Angeles.

Are there any extra Black-Middle Earth q keys? I just checked and luckily that's the only one that's got the marking on it

Show Image

the same two caps are missing for me as well. also mailed.
didn't have much time to check all the caps but i have to say, that i'm not very happy with the overall quality of the caps. but the dyesub itself is done very well, i think.

nice got mine today :D
now i just have to get blank 1.25 keycaps for my double space bar as well as
sand/tune the g and h key to fit to the trackpoint.
(mailed you for the missing keys btw)

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ]

love the keycaps :) have them with clips and o rings for my office :D
The colors fit perfectly to norbauer cnc alu case :p  :thumb:

gj jChan

Got my caps today, all good. Only complaint I have is that it's never stated that these caps don't have "+" part connecting the central stem with the border. Without the + plastic part any O-rings you use will go too deep into the keycap to be of use and youll have to stack multiple rings to get them to work.

I actually use double o rings with clips. With one ring the dampers are not noticeable.

Yes. But think about it this way: man, what a journey this board has gone through. The hands it's been handed down from. The sites it's seen.

Please fill this out for GMK SCREW IN STABS to be in your order.

Thanks, submitted twice. Only other thing is (and I left a note about it on the form), I picked up a slot from someone else for one of my orders. I put the original order number down for the form, but there's also a slightly modified version of that order number that you referenced when you invoiced me for that slot. I felt like the original order number was more accurate, since it is in the same format as my other order number, but I made a note of that situation on the form.

If I want to go for a normal layout as shown in the renders, which stabs do I get?  6.25 or 7?

I'm soooo hyped. Thanks so much everyone and especially jchan and rama!!!

7U for the two 1.5U caps either side of space bar (like renders on first page)

if you want the "standard layout" with 3 1.25U modifiers on the left side, you want the 6.25U

side note: does the name M65-A have anything to do with Atomic Annie? ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M65_atomic_cannon )

If I want to go for a normal layout as shown in the renders, which stabs do I get?  6.25 or 7?

I'm soooo hyped. Thanks so much everyone and especially jchan and rama!!!

Right on!  Thanks so much!

7U for the two 1.5U caps either side of space bar (like renders on first page)

if you want the "standard layout" with 3 1.25U modifiers on the left side, you want the 6.25U

I'm not sure yet but ordered 6.25 as I still have a spare 7u wire. I think 7u will look asymmetrical relative to the alphas. It does slightly on my 60% anyway.

Went with 7u so I can go with 1.5u across the bottom, arrows, split l shift, split backspace (bar, delete), and hhkb delete/bs. No need for win key on programmable board, especially with qmk. Thinking either double tap on FN or maybe ctrl+alt for win.

My preferred layout will require the 7u stabilizer, but I won't have any caps that fit that for a long while, so I went with the 6.25u stabilizer so that I can use the keyboard in the short term.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

Second guessing myself here. Where is a good place to get a 7u stabilizer for later if I want to change layouts without spending a buttload for a whole pack of stabs?

Where are you based? There are a few places you can buy just the 7u wire cheaply. If you're near me I'll send you one for the cost of postage.

I'm in the central US. Probably not cheap postage if you're in the UK though  ^-^

Well to send it in a letter would only cost about 2 quid however it may arrive very bent haha. I'm sure there will be a US based site you can get a wire for a matter of cents though.

Well, I'm mainly going with 7U because all my other boards use 6.25 (or 6u.. topre) and I want to switch it up.  And even though the 7u + 1.5u layout makes the bottom a little less symetrical looking, you gain a cleaner look with fewer keys.  You won't be able to switch from 6.25u to 7u without desoldering, because the one requires 3 switches to the left of the space, the other only 2.

Yeah, I ultimately would like to use 1.5u control and alt keys with a 7u spacebar like the original photos, but I won't have any keycaps that support that for several more months and I want to play with it as soon as I get it.  :p

I've bought mine from winkeyless in the past (I only use 7u).  He emailed me after I ordered to say that he was going to refund some of the shipping charge because it's a small package. If you buy from him send him an email and I'm sure he'll be willing to lower the shipping.

Did you get yours from within the UK? Just curious in case I change my mind later and want it for myself (also based in the UK).

I am no expert on this matter, but it uses ps2avrGB firmware, http://winkeyless.kr/infomation-on-ps2avru-and-ps2avrgb/ they have a BootMapperClient and everything to control it via GUI and its source code is also on github so you can do whatever you want I'd imagine.
