Hi, this is Zaome Studio from China. We have been presenting products made by concrete.
Now, we are about to present a brand new keyboard case, the Concret60.
Concret60 is made by concrete, and with an aluminum pen rail.
Because we use concrete to build a keyboard case, we use pouring instead of cnc.
Mount: Tray mount. It is compatible with any kinds of gh60 pcbs and plates.
Color: Concrete Gray Smooth, Green, and Concrete Gray Bubble
We've already run two rounds of groupbuy in China, and most of the buyers are satisfied with our products.

sry. cuz we use concrete pouring, if we come out any blockers, that means we have to restart a new mould, and that will cost very much for us. XD

How much does this bad boy weigh? And how do you make concrete smooth?
Doesn't concrete expand/shrink depending on moisture and temperature?
I have no knowledge about concrete, I am very curious.

EDIT: and won't the sharp edges dig into your hands when you try to lift it?

I mean, my first instinct when many things are dropped is to soften the fall with the foot… already have to be careful around knives…

You should just sell some silicon molds and the pen rail, and let people make their own. That would be a cool option

the first 3 pictures show a smooth surfce while the last two show a rough surafce with many holes as you would expect from concerete. are the first 3 renders while the last 2 are actual?

LOL can they? Maybe if the board had different material for a separate bottom piece, but then the concrete top would be much weaker. Can’t imagine a concrete board made from 2 pieces. Maybe you’d use mortar and just have to build it right the first time?

there’s three options: smooth, green, bubble.
people can choose to purchase the one with holes if they want

I second this, just the 4 standoffs on the sides are more than enough to support a 60% plate/PCB & make the typing experience much more consistent than with all 6 standoffs. The middle ones create "hotspots" where the KB feels stiffer & sounds different.

I'd love a sound test. I would hope that the concrete case will be acoustically dead and resonance free, but I'd love to see what it means for the sound of some well known switches like alpacas or creams so that we can get a good idea of what do expect.
