Yep, all plates allow for easy switch top removal :thumb:

One last thing...

Please note that these plates will not fit on stock keyboards like Filco's, Ducky's, KUL's, etc.
However, the plates will fit into many popular TKL cases from Filco, Ducky, CoolerMaster, and others.

I is konfoozed.

I'm looking to get a tkl on the cheap to practice and learn soldering/desoldering, but you have filco and ducky on both the yes and the no sections...

Could I perhaps pester you for a working model? Like say, does shine 2 work?

Also, in for 1!

That green thing on the right, just above the arrow cluster, is the controller. These plates don't have the cutout for that controller, so you can't use these Phantom plates with a Filco PCB or QFR PCB.

However, you CAN use the Phantom PCB with this plate in a Filco TKL or QFR case.

In the event that the MOQ is not met today, do you plan on extending the dead line?

I don't mind extending the deadline for another couple days or a week. 6 plates is still a ways to go and too many for me to absorb.

Please extend the deadline.  I really want to build a 7bit board and this is my only source to get a plate.

I shouldn't be spending money right now, but sorely tempted to get a 7bit plate even though I don't have a phantom PCB.  Will have to sleep on it.

A further thought: MK carries the boards, and will for the foreseeable future. So, get the plate during this GB, and in a month or two when your finances level out, get the board for $32 (free CONUS shipping!) and they carry switches too, or use your existing stock, or whatever. You won't need to get it all at once, and really the only time sensitive part is this plate.

I'm in for a 7-bit plate, myself so yes, I'm in here trying to drum up interest so the GB doesn't go flat on me.

That's pretty much the same reason why I picked up two plates.  I'm only going to build one for now.
Getting two plates also means the overall shipping per plate is cheaper, especially since it's $25 for international shipping.

I informed the metal shop to expect an order here in the next few weeks so that they can get some fresh stainless in for us.  :thumb:

We are close enough now that even if we don't make MOQ that I will cover however many are needed to place the order and then try to sell them in the classifieds. Though if its up to me I will probably just get all ANSI 125 ...

That's your cue, everybody! Dogpile onto this GB and buy the excellent ANSI150 or exotic 7-bit, before the market gets flooded with mediocrity!

Although, how mediocre is a fully reprogrammable keyboard with keyswitches entirely of your choosing, really?

Excellent news! I was getting worried there for a little bit as I had already bought and received the rest of my Phantom build and all I had left was the plate.

Now I need to decide if I want to build it with the ANSI125 or 7bit plate...

Hi, any chance for an ISO layout with 1.25x wide modifiers?
I would order a couple of them if available.
Thanks.

This is my first group buy on GH. I don't expect I'll be immediately working on a phantom keyboard for a while, but what is the usual time frame for things like this? I want to finish this keyboard by March 2015 since that's when my gf's bday is.

Also, what kind of cases are you guys using for the phantom pcb?  I am ordering the 7BIT layout but i'm not sure where to search for top plates for this design.

I also have another questions about diodes-- http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/1N4148/1N4148FS-ND/458603 the Phantom PCB says they use  the 1N4148 diodes, but on the website they offer the 1N4148FS-ND and the regular one. What is the difference between these two? Does one function different from the other? Is one like the generic of the other kind of diode? I want to know for future reference in buying diodes.

Thanks for reading!

The diodes you mention (1N4148FS-ND) are made by Fairchild Semiconductors (FS) ensuring good performance,
but, since diodes in keyboards are used to sth like 0.0000001% of their capacity, feel free to get the generic ones. Just test them for duds!

Also getting the 7-bit! No idea!

Right now I'm using an ANSI150 layout with no case -- just laying the bare PCB on my lap. Works fine. But if I get a case of some form I'll let everybody know where I got it.

There was a page with some code MOZ put together that would create .dxf files for plates ... I think he had a generic case that assumed you were using plates as created by that software ... but the case assumed the plate went all the way out to the edge of the case and would like flush with every other layer. Not sure how much jury rigging would be needed to make such an acrylic case accept a steel plate of the correct proportions.

Shoot me a PM with what plates you want, your paypal email, and your full shipping address. I plan on sending out invoices tonight so you *just* made it in time  ;)
