List of Custom Keyboards
« on: Mon, 09 March 2015, 13:40:49 »
So I have been playing with the idea of making a list of Korean Custom keyboards, including original price, market price and what kind of variations one model has (i.e. comes in 3 colors etc.).

So yesterday evening I sat down and made a quick Spreadsheet and listed a few keyboards that came to mind. Unfortunately though, I am quite new to the game. I have no idea about original pricing or market value of some of the boards, especially OTD boards, so I thought I could make this sheet public and everyone who wants to contribute can do so! :) Then, everyone who wants to know something about a specific model or just wants to see what's out there can go to that list and find it out!

Now I am not sure if this is in the interest of people so I thought I just post this here and get some feedback on my idea.

Here is the link to the google doc: I deleted the entire sheet because it got completely trashed and personal information was posted. We need a better solution for this.

It is already open for you people to edit it, so if you think this is a good idea and you would like to contribute you can do so without hesitation! Keep in mind I am a noob in this field, so there may be some mistakes in the stuff that I already wrote. If you want you can double check and maybe correct me. :P

Please tell me what you think of this idea and if it is needed or not. :thumb:

UPDATE: Apparently now a list of every custom, not only korean so we can include stuff like Red Scarf. :P

The original KMAC had a PCB that could make 84, 86, and 87 key layouts I believe.

I also believe KMAC 1, 1.2, and LE were all different anodizing and PCB runs I believe. The 1.2 and LE should have the KMAC 1.2 PCB. I think the KMAC 1 had the original PCB.

Here's a helpful thread with some more information. I'm no expert on Korean customs though so I'd love to know if I'm right or wrong. I do know my KMAC LE is incredible and I love it very much.

There's been a Leeku 1800 and 3000 PCB. I'm not sure if there's been full kits or cases made besides the kin25. Also I thought the PCB was out of China?

Semantics:

Red Scarf is Chinese yes? If this is a list of Korean customs, do we want to include them? Or do we want to change the name of the list?

I had a quick chat with one of the guys that were editing on the sheet, within 10 seconds we were the same oppinion. Include Red Scarf and call the list "Custom Keyboards" lol. So I just added what I knew about RS boards.

Sounds good.

Next question: Are you sure it's raw aluminum for the KMAC 2? I believe it's just clear anodization. The colors you get from anodizing comes from dyes that are added during the ano process. You can have ano with no colorants. I've changed the sheet accordingly but I can change it back.

You already know more than me about this so I think it is safe to leave it like this until someone comes along and corrects it (if it's even wrong).

If we're calling this custom keyboards, I'm going to add in some of the stuff that has been made on GH including the QazPad, Epsilon, and JD40.

Or is that mission creep?

Sounds good :D. I added the Epsilon but I'll need to do some digging to see what the JD40 from CTRL ALT and the QazPad GB came with.

Oh and as a reminder to myself, the GHPad is a thing that I should add too.

This is a great tool, hope it can get all the keyboards with their market price as a reference to seller and buyers.

Thanks for sharing.

I just got it working :p . Anyways, Google supports downloading their drive files through docs and spreadsheets, and you can change the format through URL, so I am running a script that changes the file name by +1 after 15 minutes.

Someone has added "Whale" and "Dolphin" to the KBDmod boards. Not sure if this is true since I have never heard of those keyboards.

iirc, they was sold in Korea a year ago.. so it would probably be really tough to find one unless you know someone in Korea.
