PBTfans Simple Katakana

Welcome to the IC for Simple Katakana. This set offers a neutral colorway with few additional accents to spice it up.

It will be offered as in-stock, manufactured in Doubleshot PBT (both Alphas and Sublegends)

10/12/22 Update:
  • Kits were updated to be more modular overall. Additional kits such as Text+Icon Mods or an alternative Latin Base were ultimately not approved.
  • KBDfans informed me they started the production of new katakana molds to allow sets with these sublegends to be made completely in Doubleshot, because of that material changed from ABS to PBT. Sadly this also made impossible to use a more standardized layout.
  • The first round of color samples is currently being made.

Very nice! In my stupid opinion the red should be brighter (don’t come at me with that Metaverse clone nonsense lol). Not a fan of burgundy / wine reds. Mind sharing color codes or any samples of the colors IRL if available? Thanks for the 40s support!

Add 1800 support to numpad kit - r1 End and r1 Page Down.

Also is 7 Caps Locks really necessary? I think they bloat the kit for no good reason.

If I were to guess, they use batch molds so not including all of them does not change the price. Domikey and JTK do the same thing

Correct. If you want to blame someone, blame pbtfans when they created the molds in the first place.

Quick update on the kitting:
  • Any kind of new kit including text mods is not feasible, I only managed to arrange a new Base kit featuring just Latin legends. I think that's the best middle ground I can achieve with this round
  • There are going to be changes to few sublegends to follow a more standardized layout instead of the current one

Would love to see the Cyan accents in the accents kit. Would love to pick it up to go with the WoB/BoW pbtfans sets I've got rather than getting the entire base which would go to waste.

saw the updated kits on kdbfans website. love that you sorted the sets to be sold by color! but still think blue set could be fixed a bit. people who want to get the blue accented split spacebars will end up with 2 sets of icon esc, enter, iso enter, arrow keys, and both 6.25u and 7u spacebars. maybe just remove them from the base kit and bring down the cost of the base kit? otherwise really really love all the changes, definite buy for me.

Thank you for the feedback, I'll be exploring the option of splitting the Cyan Kit into 2. I don't see removing them from the Base Kit beneficial as they aren't affecting its price by the way PBTfans manufactures kits.
