3. How does the typing experience of Plate-to-case mount design (e.g. in TX-75) compare to the more usual PCB-to-case mount design?
I'm not talking about the switch mounting but whether the major stable connection to the case is to the plate itself or to the PCB.

The plate mounts to the case whereas the PCB is only mounted to the switches via your soldering. In other words, there are no direct connection points between the PCB and the case, only plate to case.

Hi Kin, Hi YukTsi and all the TX users,

I've been lurking this design for a while, as I've been thinking about a 75% end-game board, and this board ranks real high for me.

I have a few questions about the TX boards:

1. Does the PCB currently support Alps switches?

2. What is the pin hole sizes for the PCB of TX-75, are they at 1.5mm similar to Leeku TXPad? I'm looking at the hotswap-compatibility of the PCB to some holtite receptacles.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/5amslt/guidehotswap_compatibility_table/dc45z0n/

3. How does the typing experience of Plate-to-case mount design (e.g. in TX-75) compare to the more usual PCB-to-case mount design?
I'm not talking about the switch mounting but whether the major stable connection to the case is to the plate itself or to the PCB. I am also aware of that, unlike the usual PCB-to-case mount design, there is no extra standoffs to support the PCB in the middle of the bottom half part of the case.

2. Tx75 and pad pcb hole size are same.

3. Tx87/84, tx75, txcp and txpad are same design.
Many people said.. Very solid and hard.. Less ecco..

I can definitely attest to the less echo part. I owned a redscarf before and I really hated the sound. I haven't had any issue with my tx75  :thumb:

The RedScarf kits I build came with third party Cherry PCB stabilizers which are super rattely. Alway use genuine Cherry stabilizers and not the noisy third parts ones ...

I did make sure to use genuine cherry stabs. It may have had something to do with it being a plate less build. His was the full alu 65%

The once-spurned green-eyed monster schlumphed to my humble abode today. Currently snuffling around suspiciously, hiding in its box and avoiding humans, but I intend to give it a warm, comforting home with some nice switches to chew on very soon.

Can find it at app store (Apple for sure, assume android too). Download and search for Kin25. 30 minutes later your board is waiting for loving boxing. Pics all the way. It's phenomenal.

People been telling me that top-mounted plate is master race?
But the feeling on the tx is good. Could someone please explain to me?
The distribution of the mounting screws?

Top mount kbds give good feeling of typing.
Because most of them have angled bottom.
It makes weight heavy.
Tx kbds are heavy.
The most important thing is weight.

A few years ago..
I bought one custom kbd in the korean community
The seller made it by himself.
He used 3T ss top, 1.5T plate, acrylic middle  and 3T ss bottom.
I was shocked.
I experienced the hardest kbd like stone.
It broke my common sense of kbd.
After that time..
I realized what was important.

Sorry, a beginner question:

What is plate top-mounting?

Does it mean that the case has top and bottom parts and the plate is mounted to the top like the TX?
The TX actually also sandwiched the plate between the top and botto half.

They basically mean that the plate and pcb are mounted through the plate, rather than through the pcb. If you've seen tray mount 60% cases, those are all connected to the case by screws through the pcb rather than through the plate. TX on the other hand is mounted by screws through the plate.

Then top-mount means plate-to-case mounting.
So many jargons, digging in deeper, still find there are more to learn.
Thanks!

Little late to the party here. First of all, the brass plate is amazing. The plate is great not only in looks and sound but everything snapped into place no problem and the build was really easy. I've got GMK Hyperfuse on there now but SA Hyperfuse is looming to take its place. Kin was great in this transaction.

Almost everything (except the key to push to get into flash mode, and some minor stuff) is explained here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/v24vygvyl4mvqrm/AABUNcm0BDioYE5QbArje0Kba?dl=0&preview=Leeku+L3+Software.pdf

To flash the new firmware you download the latest one, extract it, connect the keyboard while pressing Esc and then run the .bat file. Also try a different USB port and USB cable, I've had wonky stuff happen with half broken cables once.

Nice build!
Switch stickers/films: does it make a difference in any aspect of the switch?

Does it feel kind of springy in the middle of the alpha keys, e.g. T, Y, G, H ?
Top-mount seems to be what Korean keyboard designers go for these days. Some other members described top-mount as some nice springiness in the keystroke compared to the tray-mount supported by standoffs in the middle.

I made the gap film to save time.
It takes 1/5 shorter than stickers.
And it makes low-pitched tone when switches pop up.

It is not compulsory part.
Many GHers ignore sounds.

In korea.. We call top, plate, bottom to 3 piece housing.
Plate and tray to 2 piece housing.

Linear user like 3 piece housing.
(I am a linear user.. So I like 3 piece housing and make it)

Tactile user and non plate user like 2 piece housing.

3 piece housing is more expensive.

Use many kinds of kbds, and you will find suitable to yourself.
If you can't find.. Try to make kbd for yourself.

Is it an option to get these films CONUS or only really worth the shipping hassle with a TX order?
