Finally have something I'm proud of showing others!

Took me a long while to even buy my first Topre keyboard, the HHKB isn't for me, but this... oooof, I'm hooked!

I haven't, I wanted to play cs neo with it but I couldn't get emulated cs neo running on my computer. Maybe one day I'll try CSGO out.

Hi, I'd like to ask for some opinions regarding the Extended-2048 set from Kbdfans:

I was not impressed with the last EC keycap set I got from Kbdfans (a year or two ago):
Rather thin PBT, big gap from keycap to keyboard, plus louder and higher-pitched typing sound.

Has the newer 2048 set been any better? I do love the classic Apple legends.

same as you i wasnt impressed with the kbdfans caps at first.
i've been slowly collecting blank white hhkb caps. i think. to dye them all black at a low temperature to avoid warping. i like blanks tho.

love seeing another JP around.

My daily is an HHKB Pro JP (even though I'm not japanese at all) since years and years and years. I think I've got three HHKB Pro JP by now.

I have already gone through some amount of Topre keyboards, but some day I sold everything. Kinda disappointed, now I have to collect everything from scratch.

So today I'll show you my new toys, hope you'll appreciate it guys!

1st: JDL EKUJ8 is a really weirdo with a unusable layout (although it's only because of windows) and it's very cheap, which is noice. Build quality is on point as usual. Domes feels kinda weared out. Yellowing is right enough, I love how it matches with torquoise bottom.

2nd is Realforce FD01D0 with blank keycaps. Internet says only 200 of those were made. The most unusual thing here is no logo on the top. Keyboard itself feels new, keycaps has zero wear, it seems like it was in a collection!

After 18 years of use my HHKB Pro 1 is going into retirement. Got this HHKB Type-s Bluetooth and damn this is a real improvement over the old HHKB series. The case actually feels sturdy and good quality while retaining that HHKB feel and sound.

I like that how that Pro 1 looks with the logo area sanded off! Don't retire it! Or well, I'm sure people like myself or others would find use for it. Have the domes retained their snappy nature?

And agreed, the new series of HHKBs is such a good deal for the money -- they really have made it worthwhile with all the new QoL improvements.

The cases feel sturdier, but they're also less resonant so they're not as thocky which is IMO an unfortunate departure from what drew most of us in to the HHKB to begin with. Definitely gonna be getting a Pro 3 Hybrid to replace my old 2018 pro BT, though.

I haven't tried any of the type S Pro 3s, but based off of what I've heard from a friend the type S stems still suffer from that somewhat sandy or whoosh-y sound/feel - really wish they would address that at some point, it's always a pain in the ass to have to harvest a perfectly good RF that someone could enjoy just for the stems.

They are super snappy to the point I replaced them with domes from 2011 :). I will probably keep using it from time to time not selling it of course it has been with me for years so it has a permanent home.

Recently did a dome swap from variable weights to 45g uniform on my realforce. I am a fan of it, but I did kind of like how quiet the variable weights are. Also kind of curious about 55g, since I've yet to use them

i'd consider this like a misprint-tier item for card collectors or w/e. incredibly odd mix of keycap profiles, sizes, placement, and legends, and probably never got out of the box because you'd need 80 hours of training just to be somewhat-comfortable typing on it.

super cool find(s) though, i've never seen anything like that before for topre. always exciting to see the thread at the top with a subcat most recent reply.

please don't let this topic die! I've always been just a lurker on GH, but this topic with its 200+ posts is something that keeps me around. Both the early as well as the newer stuff being posted

I don't have anything nearly as neat as the majority of topre boards being posted here, but thought I could at least share my weird mix of various topre. Almost every board is an ongoing project in some way, so please excuse the mess as well as the crappy photography
