the use of the expanded colorspace like nothing else up to this point, just patches of extravagantly saturated highlights,

very very effective. dang, if only tp4 could fordz quantum oled.

Just finished.. Man.. that was quite the experience.  not a single dull moment.

Every frame was masterful.    and the plot,  it perfectly captures the rat race that is our modern dystopia, a well clothed, well fed, jail cell, a painless, silent suffering.

Ignore the n00dity, just don't look when it comes up.

Just had a thought,  even if someone had bullet time acceleration ability, it wouldn't increase the traction in their feet or their landing speed post jumps,  so they can't really move any faster..

Pearl,  well.... it's not god awful.. but a little thin.

although if you think about what rural life was like back then during the transition, it's plausible someone went insane in such a manner.  however unlikely, because farm work kept people so busy, most people didn't think much and were too tired at the end of the day to have an existential crisis.

yes,  but it's not a modesty/ virtue/ religious thing. n00dity is utilized to hijack people's minds. most anime is f' tier garbage.

To properly assess any allegedly artistic material, it must be done with exclusion of signal pollution.

If you take the movie, remove all the hijacking signals, and it's still worth watching, it's a good movie.  If you take a movie, remove all the superfluous eroticism, and it becomes uninteresting /bland,  it's trash.

example, remove all the good looking women from friends,  = garbage show.

remove good looking women from community (show), = unbearable garbage.

remove marryann/ginger from gilligan's island,  it's still interesting, you're on an island, macgyvering stuff to survive.

Your thresholds are sinking.

Or, do you have a thing for Mrs Howell?

No, old women do no have that property. They are equivalent of men as part of the plot.

You are going to be drawing so many new female users into the forum that it might overwhelm the servers.

you're quoting it out of context, i'm clearly talking about movie plots and the typical use of such characters.

Frozen Planet II finally out on disc.

Textures are fantastic. Although they did over use decontouring in some areas, such as the tiger scenes, where the tiger looked too smooth.

Patheon,  thought it was going to be trite, but it's actually really amazeballs.

LOL, episode 2, this must be some crazy future, where suburban america has ultra fast internet that can upload some futuristic high density glass holographic storage that contains an entire mind's worth of data in 30 seconds over what looks like USB A..

hahahahhaha.

Just finished , good stuff, not everything was exciting, but some interesting conjectures on sentience.

It has the same grail quest entrapment scenario, would an AI be confined by the same puzzles which mankind probably can't solve. It wouldn't really make sense that a big bang in infinitely expandable intelligence would have such barriers, unless some force in the universe prevents it. for example, exponential intellect would approach infinite mass the same, so assuming there was some way to get from here to there, it would pull in and collapse.

Moonhaven,  Ok.. now... sigh... it's very successful in making the utopia concept Ultra-Weird, neither good nor bad, as the audience,  of course we recognize the concept of balance and harmony in the complete absence of greed and malice, but it is uncanny and very disconcerting.   That was clearly the intent of the stage though, so its design is successful.

Are we so lost and broken as a species, that we fear true paradise.    Or is it merely the fact that it is so unreasonable to expect a super abundance that a mind built for survival is simply incompatible.

Logically, modern humans already have the technology and know how to end all suffering, yet we actively use tech to create suffering for ourselves through over-distillation of hedonistic experiences.

I liked Moonhaven, but felt like it was just starting to gain its footing when it stopped.

In my opinion the jury is totally out until we can see where it is headed.

Just watched Don't worry darling.
I did not expect what its gonna be about, so was positively surprised. Similar subject was already seen in a few movies. Good one.
Also started watching Chapelwaite. I really like Adrien Brody, so I'm excited:)

Just re-watched Killswitch   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killswitch_(film)

Amazing to see how quaint and simple and bucolic the world was just a few short years ago - and - to watch a documentary about the systemic problems of the interwebs without even so much as a mention of trolls and bots ....

Finally got around to watching the new Batman movie.
I really enjoyed it which I did not think I would. Not the biggest fan of Robert Pattinson - but he played it well, imo.
IMO it's not batman that makes the movies, it's the villains.

Saw One Piece: Red tonight. It was a lot of fun. I unknowingly booked this 3D experience seat that had a gyroscope that moved around and vibrated, I thought it would be distracting, but actually added a lot of fun to the experience. I went to take a piss an an integral moment and the attendant stopped me in the hall asking if I wanted the movie paused until I got back. I felt like a freaking king or something.
The movie was fun, tons of returning characters, unlikely alliances, and an unexpected new Gear reveal at the end. If you are a OP fan you'll have a lot of fun!

I think that's the expectation, so either they make the journey fun and unique or it goes not as expected and it's not people. Or it is boring and predictable and sucks. :))

Watched Weird - The Al Yankovic Story last night, and it was pretty good. Daniel Radcliffe was wonderfully cast as Weird Al.

Entirely goofy and over the top, of course. Recommended for a good laugh.

I'm guessing you've seen UHF, yeah? This was a great complement - perfectly Weird Al, but nothing like it of course.

Went to see The Menu tonight in a snow storm. Very solid. I went in kind of knowing what to expect, and it was still surprising at many points. There was not really any point in the film I felt bored, so the pacing was great. Just like a well served meal.
Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Finnes were fantastic.

My favourite series right now is Wednesday. It's the girl from The Addams Family going to a boarding/high school, and solving a mystery  Her character is based on how she was in the '90s movies, which I have always liked.

Great series, I get Harry Potter vibes from it. I'm sure it will get a season 2, it's the best new show on NF in a while.

just started wednesday based on u's guyzus recommendations,

The color grading is a bit weird, it's got a soft black, but then it's still ultra sharp, shot digital and without a grain filter, so idk, kind of too high res, because it now obviously looks like they're wearing thick makeup, you can see the subsurface glow of their natural skin color interfering with the intended effect of the cosmetic ghoulish white as is franchise defining.

think i understand the problem, the classic look is a matte pale skin texture.  it's being filmed in HDR and high res, everyone's face has a greasy shiny-ness to it that is uncharacteristic.

Xanax documentary, pretty well made.

Hrrrrm.... it started out strong, but then the doctors started saying, oh it's OK to take pills,  then one said cannibis seems to be a good alternative, because so and so, such and such etc, etc.  Then one of the patients said, I realize I don't want to take xanax my whole life, but it's nice that I have it as a tool.

So, there's alot of mixed messaging going on here. One has to wonder if that's DELIBERATE, to massage this seed of Pill-taking into the audience.

The most dangerous misinformation is always laced with half truths, to confuse and obfuscate the real motivation of the narco capitalism.

Chainsaw Man sucks. What a genuinely terrible anime, filled with idiotic one dimensional characters with the stupidest and most vapid motivations ever.
I do not understand the hype and love for this show. Just pure trash.
