Good de-greaser and then protect with car wax, same as the body of the car or a rainX treatment.

Use invisible glass cleaner with razor blade extension
After that use three towel to wipe
First one to pick up all the dirt
Second one use a glass or monitor microfiber towel with invisible glass cleaner. After that use third towel to wipe one more time immediately after second towel.

Do the same thing for inside, but spray cleaner on towel instead of windows itself

Just keep your windows down all the time then there is no need to clean them

Wow, all that because I posted my new wagon?!

SUVs, CUVs, bleh. I like very large vehicles, but in different proportions...long, wide and low* with a level belt line front to rear and large greenhouse.
*: "Low" referring to the overall height of the vehicle, not specifically to ride height

As for status symbols, I don't think typical SUVs serve that purpose...unless "soccer mom" is the intended status you want to convey...minivans, SUVs and 4-door-cab-pickups all say "soccer mom" to me even if that generalization is poorly founded. Put an expensive badge on it and I just think "soccer mom with disposable income".

Anyway, I picked up that wagon for free* (*: assorted fees and costs associated with trailering it home, aside). It isn't running and hasn't ran in 5 years, give or take. South Carolina car, moved up to Ohio, then here to Ontario where I bought it from the previous owner. Underside is pretty decent considering it was never oil sprayed. Trunk pan needs body work but at least it's not totally rotted out so I have something to start with. Interior needs to be powerwashed and the carpet is now sitting on the roof awaiting me getting around to it. I'm thinking $1200 from current to road-ready. No rush, though. I'm currently at 6 vehicles and the project list is long, long, long.

I think the car is great.   But the desire to take on such project, let alone multiple similar projects ...oh boy.

lol...well...when I get bored, it's nice to have something to do hanging around that I enjoy.

Once the parts car is stripped and off to the crusher, my driveway will be a little less cluttered. Ford Panther platform cars have a significant footprint. If I had a fleet of Geo Metros it wouldn't be so bad.

It's almost completely stock. Except for wheels and being on coilovers, and a straight pipe exhaust, and the rear bumper being deleted ;)

Interesting to note, another car brand is going to offer a station wagon in the States. Buick is going to offer a Regal TourX, which is a fancy name for a wagon.  I think they are seeing the success of Subarus and looking to join the party:  http://www.buick.com/regal-tourx-mid-size-luxury-wagon/index.html#/index

Well I've just realised that Buick essentially sell the Vauxhall / Opel Insignia...

I guess it makes sense as they're all GM brands

Yea, I just read that when looking at information on this Buick.  Not sure where the wagon will be made, but they are essentially importing that car and slapping some Buick badges on it.  Might be some powertrain changes as well.

Ok,  so in Fury Road,   they made a dual engine 18 wheeler.

How realistic is that...   Wouldn't they need highly sophisticated machining for parts, and advanced electronic controllers to time 2 engines together..

So I went to the Volvo dealer to have my license plates swapped and get a car wash.

What ended up happening is:

I got the car back and they left the original dirty license plates on the passenger seat.  Me? I would have asked the customer what they wanted done with the plates (destroyed?) or at the very least put them on the passenger floor or put them in a bag or something.

The porter/worker told me just as I was opening the door that he forgot his "smart" phone.  This is the second time at this dealership that this has happened.  The first time I drove away with it and had to drive back.

Am I being a cranky pants?  Volvo wants to be a Luxury dealer in the US and yes they are coming out with nicer product but the dealerships are barely better than Domestic Ford/Chevy; I think even some Mazda/Kia dealers are nicer.

As you can see from the rust of the Civic I'm not a car guy, it just runs well

Translation of proverb..

鲜 花 插 在 牛 粪 上

xiān huā chā zài niú fèn shàng

More like flower stucked on bull ****

well, you wouldn't use bull**** for the translation, because it has too strong its own connotation.

cow dung, works better , because it's just neutral p00p..   hahahahahahaha

Looks like me next car's gonna be a Lexus CT200h. Test drove one the other day and really liked it, nothing else on our car list really comes close in terms of options, economy etc. Quite nice little cars too, feels quite premium without being flashy, and definitely bit more unique and less common than the German offerings.

Will place an order next week when I've chosen a colour, and the MINI will finally be collected too :(

I think they have somewhat different images across the pond.. I was reading that the CT200 has been killed in North America, whereas we're getting a 2018 facelift for the European market. I wouldn't call it massively popular over here, I think Lexus is still a slightly niche brand compared to the big German ones but it must be selling well enough to warrant them keeping it in the market.

But yeah that interior is really nice, it's like a synthetic leather but very soft, and with heated seats :)

But now the 2018 update has been shown, the dealer I've been working with told me to wait out until mid/late October before placing an order through my fleet dept. to make sure I can get a 2018 MY.

The 2018 update changes the DRL in the headlights, the colour and design of the rear lights, adds a sort of 'duckbill' to the rear hatch and adds the newer honeycomb grille to all trim levels. Apparently there's also more interior finish options and a bigger 10" screen. Looks much fresher IMO and I think I'd kick myself for ordering the current model then seeing the newer version on the roads for the next 3-4 years  :))
