That looks to me like the 'chunkier' MX pin. It gives us an idea of what angle the shot is taken from, so this is getting good!

I think it's just that the two chunks of the image aren't lined up perfectly.

I think the housing is longer, he just moved it so the image was smaller, and it might be the angle for the stem?

It looks like there is something in that fat middle bottom stem. Probably some kind of lightsaber crystal.

Outside of the fact that it looks to have a gold spring inside with gold contacts, I'm not getting the hype...unless there's an SMD LED module in the post in the middle.
