Hello there, long time lurker went member
« on: Sat, 15 November 2014, 21:56:19 »
Hey members of GeekHack, I've been a lurker here for a while but I figured if I lurk here this often, I may as well join. So here I am!

I've had a slowly growing hobby of mechanical keyboards for a while. I originally started off with a CM Storm Trigger in MX reds, going to a Quickfire XT in MX browns, to a Filco MJ2 in MX browns (which I need to sell), to my current setup of two Quickfire Rapids, both in MX reds. I recently decided to make the jump to moving past stock keycaps to some nice PBT ones as well. My university student wallet is sad but the feels need money. :)

EDIT: Bad photo of my QFR added.

Anyways, again I'd just like to say Hi to the Geekhack community and I hope I'll be welcome here!

Welcome to Geekhack!

QFR is an excellent keyboard, I have two (well, one QFR and one QFS).

Don't look too hard at the keycaps that are available, we are not responsible for your wallet shriveling up :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
