Those are preliminary renders as the IC says, and weren't included in the GB phase since I know they aren't accurate. I don't have irl pantone color plates to compare, and I'm not sure if I can get 100% proper white balanced pics for you - but I'll see what I can do. Those original renders were using a tone based on the RGB values GMK gives for their 2B color chip. You can see in the below pic, the alpha tone is not identical to CC, but is slightly lighter/warmer (this is intended):

I have two rounds of samples (just legends adjusted between them) and both have met my spec as far as what I want these to look like. I've been working pretty closely with Janglad to get some proper (mostly) accurate renders done.
If all else fails, you're free to come hang out in Dayton for a day or two and check the set out yourself.

Yes. The 1st and 2nd sample sets i received are gonna be the same color. The only difference were some slight legend changes. Color wise nothing will change.

This is really unfortunate, I vastly prefer Home, PgUp, PgDn, End in a column on my 65% & 75% boards.
I mean, it's just plastic so not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but this change is not consistently represented. While I do see updated kits on hineybush.com, both the OP and kbdfans have images which show the R1 End & R2 PgDn.

I did ask Wei a while back and he said it "wouldn't be an issue". I can't make any guarantees though. I'm thinking the homebrew method of a hairdryer and some books is easiest to fix at home, I don't have plans to do anything on my end with all of the orders.

IMO not a distinct blue, but I would call them blue. My friend calls it purple. So I guess it depends on the person.satisfied!

IMO not a distinct blue, but I would call them blue. My friend calls it purple. So I guess it depends on the person.satisfied!

Yeah the enter and alt shade is the same. It's not quite as vivid as P2726C that I selected, but it's definitely the right shade.

Maaaan wtf.. another dude has his B key the incorrect profile too. This seems to be a really isolated issue where (I'm assuming) they put the wrong profile key down before they dyesub. I can send you a new N key, but I'm not sure if I have another B key on hand atm. I'll mention this to KBDFans also and see what I can do about a replacement.

Never heard of such thing on ePBT 9009 und Grayscale.
This has been perfect, but it is a surprise how the manufacturer messed with a foreign GB with these mistakes. Hope Gok’s GB is fine - even he is not native to these countries.

I just went through my base kit to check it against the kit renders, and I have found some problems. Where I should have an R1 PgDn, I have an R2 PgDn. I have an extra R1 End. I am missing R2 PgUp. I have an extra R1 Fn (there should be one of those, I have two of them).

I can guarantee it's the right kit including those keys because 1. I have an R2 PgDn in front of me here and 2. on 11/20/2018 Wei (KBDFans) confirmed to me the final kits which included those keys. I didn't drop the 6.5u spacebar, it was supposed to be included as well, sending that kit to him on 12/26/2018. I'm still trying to get a reply regarding the replacements, I feel like they're pretty busy due to non-Slate related stuff but I'll let you guys know once I know things.

Yep I see those now. The kit in the Imgur album in the OP of this thread is the correct final base kit, and it was posted on Dec. 26 of 2018. I can confirm the keys you're concerned about were removed (and the kit was updated to the one I posted in the Imgur album). They were swapped out for an EPBT R2/Cherry R3 Pg Dn and EPBT R1/Cherry R4 End key. The kits on my site are pre-final, and were not the ones sent as the final kits. It's my fault for not updating the kit pictures on my site after adjusting the kit. The correct kit (same as KBDFans') is included in the Imgur album in the OP of this page as well, so it seems the discrepancy is solely on my site. I apologize for this, I assume I uploaded the wrong one to Squarespace/Shopify when I set the products up. Yep I see those now. The kit in the Imgur album in the OP of this thread is the correct final base kit, and it was posted on Dec. 26 of 2018. I can confirm the keys you're concerned about were removed (and the kit was updated to the one I posted in the Imgur album). They were swapped out for an EPBT R2/Cherry R3 Pg Dn and EPBT R1/Cherry R4 End key. The kits on my site are pre-final, and were not the ones sent as the final kits. It's my fault for not updating the kit pictures on my site after adjusting the kit. The correct kit (same as KBDFans') is included in the Imgur album in the OP of this page as well, so it seems the discrepancy is solely on my site. I apologize for this, I assume I uploaded the wrong one to Squarespace/Shopify when I set the products up. I just updated it on the site (a bit late obviously) for proper reference, thanks for uploading the incorrect one in your reply (presumably to call me out on BS if I tried to deny it was wrong/swapped it without saying anything).
Well, that's disappointing. I'll email you about returning these kits for a refund. It sounds like you need another "B" key anyway.

Space bars are flat but unfortunately they are about 1mm out of spec in length, making them close to unusable. Even with lubed zeal stabilizers they scratch and are sluggish on the way up. Darn shame, b/c I like the colorway. I'm glad I decided not to join the Extended group buy. Also, I never noticed before, but they sit about 1mm higher on switches than GMK. Not a big deal on some cases but on my Jane you they stand above the case edge and don't look as nice.
I might try to use them on my one board that has costar stabilizers, but I now own 3 ePBT sets with the same issues and only 1 board with costar mounts.

you can see it from the edge if you use a board outside of the case. The mounts for the stabilizers on the space bar are too close to each other inwards(I assume as a result of shrinking). They pull the stabilizer inserts inward, against the stabilizer housing. On my 6.25u, if you don't press it all the way in it works but with friction. However, once you press both edges all the way in, the space bar won't return. I have this exact same issue on ePBT forgiveness and an English purple. Both were purchased from KBDFans, roughly 1.5 years apart.

Edit: I've already lubed the stabs themselves with 205g0, and there is no rattle with the aforementioned GMK, CRP, and Cherry spacebars.
Edit2: Checked again and the teal spacebar is just fine but the grey doesn't return completely (turns out I was incorrect before) and also rattles if pressed near the center of the spacebar. This is while using 55g linears.

Yeah, i figure it's just a batch thing. I guess I could try to get a replacement but that seems like a hard thing to check for. You would have to actually mount the keycap to a board to check. I've tried it on 5 different boards and it hasn't worked on a single one. That also covered 4 different types of stabilizers (GMK plate, GMK PCB screw in, Zeal, knock-off GMK). I have way too many sets as it is, so I'm just going to sell it. It would work fine on a costar board.

Lube will help if you haven't used any yet on the stabilizer insert (between the insert and the stabilizer housing wall)
Unfortunately the stabs are already lubed. As a point of reference, I’m using GMK screw-in stabs and Zealios V1 67g switches.

First impression: it's a beautiful set. I got the base + ortho 40 kits. ePBT feels a bit grainy but not as coarse as the KPRepublic DSA PBT set I own. Thickness, they are more or less equal. Legends are sharp & crisp. At a glance I don't see any noticeable warping. Also, seems like there are extra keys: one 1U backspace and 1U Fn (in yellow rectangulars)?
I think my row profiles are all OK.. (Keyboard cherry profile noob here. Would appreciate if someone can help to check).

Don't have chance to test them on a real keyboard - probably weekend.
If one ask me what can be improved, I'd like to see more contrast between the alphas and the modifiers. Perhaps make the alphas slightly brighter, or the modifiers slightly darker. Also, compared to the red & blue accents, the teal/aquamarine looks too bright. But yeah those are kinda nitpicking. All in all, I think it successfully fulfills the original goal of Slate (or Concrete). Good job Hiney for the set!

I can also confirm that my 7u spacebars on both my base kit and spacebar kit are borked. The base kit spacebar is extremely sluggish and barely goes back up while the teal spacebar is somewhat usable but is not as smooth as spacebars from other kits that I own. Tried in two keyboards one with tealios and the other with zealios and both of which have genuine cherry screw in stabs lubed with 205g0. This is really disappointing because they're the least warped ePBT spacebars out of the box that I've ever seen.
Can anything be done? Because as it stands this kit is useless to me as all my keyboards are either HHKB or Tsangan form factor.
Try heating them up and bending them into positions where the work with the stabilizers.

Thanks for the tip, a few tries with a hair dryer and I managed to get the spacebars to a point where its pretty usable. Its not 100% fixed, so I probably need to heat it up a few more times to get it to stick but its a lot better than what it was before.

This was unknown to me until literally last night/today per the timestamps. The pricing on the kit was correct as they didn't account for the 6.5u spacebars when they gave pricing.
